Do our characters have to start off as first years? Coz some rps I've been in have been somewhat unbalanced with loads of characters in one year and a few wandering around in the others.

Woolfie, if you look at the profile template, Sunshine specifies that you can make all age categories of students.

Sunshine, where do we apply for student positions? As in, whcih thread would you like me to make the formal request in? I'd like to apply for the Head Girl position for House S....

I know you can make all age categories Sarah, I was just wanting to avoid a character overload in one year and a dearth in another, as it has happened before and is not much fun, at least not for me personally.

But in answer to your first question: no.

Are our characters allowed to be related to the Rowlingian originals? I had thought of creating a Weasley as I presume family names still transcend generations.

False! I was creating the poll and discovered I'd made up my mind. The answer to Woolfie's original question is yes, but keep in mind, everyone will be going through the critique process still, and those ones will have an especially thorough going-over. If you have any arguments with that, speak now or forever hold your peace! (By the way, I still prefer original families. [Ones we make up/create on our own.] Personally speaking.)

Are Quidditch captains going to be decided after all the teams are assembled or should we include them in the request for positions?

You may include them in your request, but they may likely be decided after the teams are assembled.

Do pets have to either an owl or a cat?

Nope. Toads, ferrets, owls, rats, cats... If you ask ahead of time, I can give you a yay/nay. Dogs are a no. Anything larger than a cat or owl probably won't work.

I'm torn....

Here are my ideas for Kat: albino hedgehog; white rabbit; silver snake (I'd have to google and see what exact species); snow owl; swan (that was before you said nothing larger than a cat or owl LOL)....

Any suggestions?

No, there is not. Hogwarts is the closest one. There's Beauxbatons, Krum's School, one in South America, one in Japan (?), and two (?) in America. I can go research it for you if you want. If you want to look it up for yourself, you should be able to find that info on www.harrypotterwikia.com

I'd like her parents to have gone to the Swedish school and have Kat born in Sweden, having immigrated to England when she was a baby. So she'll speak Swedish as well.

I know it's still rather early on but is there a way of checking to see which character is in which year so as to make it easier to know what year to create a character so that they can interact, that is, other than looking through a character list.

I have seen just how wonderfully detailed the character profiles are and so it may take me a while in writing mine! I was wondering, as i am not that experianced at Roleplays whether it would be possible for a mod. to take a look at my character profile once completed and check if it is up to standard? (Thanks in advance).
