Readers have already commented about the working relationship between Robin & Strike - how it was interesting because they didn’t know each other very well and because there was suspense over whether Robin would continue working with Strike -- did their dynamic stay interesting for you? Why or why not?

I LOVED their dynamic.

I was very nervous that Galbraith would turn this into yet another love triangle -- especially when Strike (view spoiler)[ slept with Ciara (hide spoiler)], I was fully prepared for Robin to become jealous because she'd fallen in love with her boss. I was so happy & relieved that the story didn't go anywhere near there!!

Both Strike and Robin seem to have made a conscious decision to keep their relationship above-board and professional, yet open to overtures of friendship and caring. Just nothing more.

I was so relieved to be reading a book without a love triangle -- but who knows, maybe that's the plot of book #2. :)

I agree completely with Emily, I liked that although there was a hint of sexual tension, it was no more than most people experience in normal daily interactions. He kept his mind made up that he wouldn't open that door, and she seemed to remain very commuted to Michael. HOWEVER, Rowling definitely opened up the possibilities of some sort of triangle in future books.
But as far as this book goes, I like that they remained plutonic, professional. Their pairing as perfect. Can't wait for the next book!

I loved the duo also! I was concerned that the book would start to veer into the love triangle field but was very happy when it didn't. I hope there is a second book where we get to see the development of Robin into more of a detective. I think Strike will be a good mentor for Robin and Robin is good at helping Strike piece things together and get the information to put the case together.

Very cool. Interesting that Rowling is still using the pen name for the sequel. The cat's kind of out of that bag, no?
