Hiroko walked in with Haruto and Res. "Only once? What do you mean Senpai?" She asked. He must've had a fairly boring life if he'd only ever played one game.
"We'll have to teach you then, if you you've only played once you can't be very good." Haruto grinned, though outwardly he looked the picture if innocence he new his sister could tell what he was up too.
"Was it a children's game? Or was it more like a gambling game?" Haruto grinned, his cards appearing on a table and shuffling themselves for their upcoming game, whatever it was to be.
"Well then we'll start with something easy!" Haruto folded his arms and thought for a minute. "Any ideas Chan?" he asked Hiroko after a few seconds.
Hiroko thought for a moment, then held out one hand and a deck of Hanafuda cards appeared. "There's always Koi-Koi!"
"You're losing me again.." Res muttered. In an Anime show he would be blank face while his soul floated from his body.
"I'm guessing that's going to be a common occurrence senpai." Haruto laughed as he watched Hiroko's hanafuda cards.
"Seems like it." Hiroko nodded, laughing. "Anyway, at least he's got a reason to be lost this time. Most people don't even know what Hanafuda are."
"They're flower cards. You play our favorite game with them, Koi-Koi." Haruto grinned picking up the stack of cards and fanning them out face up so Res could see them.
"There's twelve suits, four cards in each month." Hiroko laid out the cards in twelve collums, four in each row. "There's two normal and two special cards in each suit."
"Well first things first, should I be the Oya or should we just let the cards deal themselves like normal?" Haruto asked his sister smirking, the game wasn't hard and if Res couldn't learn it he really was hopeless.
"Like normal. You cheat when you're the Oya." Hiroko grinned, the cards floating up and beginning to shuffle themselves. Of course both of them did but it was 'unavoidable' with magic cards that technically didn't even exist in the first place.
((yesh. I am not Res but I am confused.))
Res watched, his mind processing the information the best he could do.
Res watched, his mind processing the information the best he could do.
((It's a Japanese card game, it's pretty fun actually. slightly confusing at first, but I like it. Go to he wikipedia page, it explains it if your curious ;) ))Haruto gave a mock offended look and stared at his sister "I do not cheat" he said dramatically.
Hiroko rolled her eyes and tapped the deck of cards. They stopped shuffling themselves and set up the game, except they did so for only two players. "This isn't going to work, we're used to it being only us!" She said, looking at the cards.
"So um... I think I got to go.." Res said, now confused again. No matter how hard he tried he would always be confused by the twins and whatever they did.
"Awww! Come on!" Haruto stuck his tongue out at Res. The room suddenly grew dim, the sun was now covered by grey rainclouds.
Hiroko leaned back slightly and looked out the window, the smile on her face fading slightly. "It looks like it's gonna rain Haru-Chan." She said, her eyes drifting from the window to her brother.
"I really hope not." Haruto frowned and looked out the huge window on the wall right of them. It wasn't the rain that was a problem, thunder on the other hand was an issue.
"It could at least wait until we're home." Hiroko said, beginning to stand. "If we go now we might be able to beat-" A bright streak of lightning flashed across the sky and echoed out loudly before she finished her sentence or was even standing. As quickly as the sound had happened she was back on the floor, her face almost on the floor and her hands over her head.
"Umm... Guys?" Res asked, worried about them. They probably had a trauma with thunder and lightning..
Without answering Haruto grabbed Hiroko by the waste and all of a sudden they were under the table closest to them. He squeezed his hands over his ears just as another flash of light brightened the room and thunder sounded loudly.
As the lighting flashed through the window both of them seemed to switch to how their hair was black, though it was only with the light and didn't seem to have any effect on their behaviour as it usually did. With every flash they seemed to instantly flip for a split second, as if the lightning made an illusion that made the twins appear different.((Yay for random post of nothing but filler that's slightly repetitive but whatever it doesn't matter that much anyway! *frolics*))
Res blinked, confused. He scratched the back of his neck as he tried to make out the situation unfolding before him but didn't really get any explanation to this..
As the thunder storm worn on for a minutes the stayed in place under the table. Haruto, whose eyes were squeezed shut tight, opened them the tiniest bit and glanced at his sister, who was trembling worse than he was.
Hiroko had her hands pressed tightly over her ears, only slightly muffling the sound of the thunder. She had her eyes shut and she was curled up in a ball, looking smaller than seemed possible, even with how small she was already.
Res crouched by the table, his expression softening. "Hey, Hiroko, Haruto." He said gently, hoping he wouldn't aide them to be even more frightened.
Haruto looked up at Res through wide eyes, another crash of thunder sounded and they flashed bright electric yellow as he stared at Res.
Hiroko turned her head and opened her eyes slightly, but squeezed them shut again at the next crack, holding her hands over her head.
"Everything is going to be alright." Res tried to sound encouraging and gentle. He wondered if he was doing it correctly or not.
Shaking his head Haruto's hair turned black, and this time stayed that way, along with his eyes keeping their yellow tinge. "Nothing will be, we're all going to die." He said in a low voice and launched his small form at Res, as if he didn't even know who he was, knocking him to the ground in the process.
Hiroko's changed as well, darkening as her eyes turned silver, though she didn't move. For a her hands dropped and for a moment she stared blankly at the ground.
Res hit the carpeted ground, feeling the wind knocked right out of him. "This happened again? Haruto, you're not going to die." Res tried to calm the boy down.
"No but you are!" Haruto growled in a low voice that wasn't even close to his own. He rolled sideways and landed in a squatting position with his right hand on he floor to steady himself. He stood slowly, as of he was listening to he storm outside. His eyes stayed he strange colour as he looked from Res to Hiroko "I'm back." he said with a minutes twisted grin that looked slightly out of place on his innocent looking face.
Hiroko stood, not bothering to move out from under the table, instead just shoving it away and making it crash to the ground. She said nothing, her now-silver eyes still completely void of emotion.
"I'm going to die?" Res rose an eyebrow, sitting up with his emotions kept at bay by a simple thought in his mind. Okay.. Nothing can possibly go wrong except the fact that there are two crazy people...
"Why does he keep me locked up in there? I'm much more fun, I haven't been back out since that little show at the mental hospital they tried to put us in. They took my dear sister away from me, so I killed them. It was rather enjoyable I must say" Haruto's voice sounded completely different from the normal Japanese voice he had, he had a British accent and was speaking a in much lower tone than his normal Japanese vernacular. Haruto didn't remember the scene at the mental hospital, just doctors dragging the twins away from each other, then everything was black, followed by him waking back up with his sister surrounded by about fifteen bodies. After that they had escaped the grounds and were free again. He had no idea another person lived in his head, just waiting for a chance to come out and cause mayhem.
Hiroko laughed slightly, though it hardly showed on her face. Even when they were normal they knew that they had done it, but only from people telling them they had. They didn't even know how it was possible, as they were only seven at the time. That, however, was the reason they were still in America. When they finally were able to contact their father back in Japan he told them that he'd already arranged for them to stay, and he would send them as much money as they needed as long as they did not return.
