EVEName: Evelina Roza Brigitte Bajenaru
Gender: Female
Blood: Muggle-Born
Age: 15
» Birthday: February 16
House: Ravenclaw
» Year: 5
» Quidditch: Beater
» Position: Student
Wand:
» Wood: Apple
» Core: Fairy Wing
» Length: 15 Inches
» Flexibility: Bendy
» Description: This wand was the sixteenth wand that Evelina attempted to use when she was eleven, but it seems to have been worth the wait, as it is almost perfect for her. She bonded to it when she was fourteen—really quite young. It has a slight pink hue from the applewood, and it has a very intricately carved handle, almost representing her personality in its length and design complexity. The handle has leaves around the top and bottom, and a metal piece with swirls etched into it that she holds. The wood of the wand is from an apple tree, and wands made with this wood are often good at charms, and with communications between other species. Evelina's wand seems to be almost made for charms, with the apple wood and fairy wing core. Fairy wings, when used as a core are often good at charms, and this suits Eve's good-natured personality.
Appearance:

Description: Evelina has long dark brown hair, although that is constantly changing with her use of extensions. She has fairly pale skin, and full lips that almost look as if they're in a consistent pout. She has blue eyes that can sometimes look silver or even grey, depending on her mood and the lighting. She has fairly pale skin and is quite tall, standing at 5'10", hinting at her family's German background. She makes a lot of noise when she's walking, so people almost always know where she is. She can always be seen with a pair of headphones around her neck and a book under one arm, as she loves music and reading. You'll only hear her singing on occasion though, and she usually think's she's alone, because she is very conscious about it. She hates being still and is always seen drumming her fingers, tapping her foot, or spinning her wand. She is a Ravenclaw, and possesses their typical traits- she has very good problem-solving capabilities and an ability to actually use information. She is fairly book smart, however, she's not a total nerd. Evelina likes talking to people, and loves being dramatic. Most would call her a social butterfly and a drama queen, but she takes it as a compliment. She's also very optimistic and always tries to help people out, especially those with emotional problems.
Background: Evelina was muggle born, and was always out of place in her schools and among people. She was made fun of, bullied, and hated her life until she was eleven, when she received the letter telling her that she was a witch. Her parents were overjoyed, saying that they always knew she was special and that they were so proud of her. Her personality seemed to double itself and she seemed to get even more dramatic, even louder at Hogwarts, because it was the first place where she fit in and was accepted, making friends quickly and easily, and she enjoyed herself as well, loving what they were learning. She goes home to her family in New York for most holidays, but has also been known, on occasion, to stay at Hogwarts.
Relations:
» Maximilian Bajenaru - Father; 50; Electric Engineer
» Oksana Bajenaru - Mother; 48; Chef
» Alexia Bajenaru - Sister; 13; Student at Hogwarts; Hufflepuff
Pet: Owl
» Name: Athena
» Gender: Female
» Age: 6
» Appearance:

» Description: Athena looks like any other common barn owl, but Evelina always knows that it's her owl because when delivering mail, she flies straight to Eve, then almost has a ritual in which she lands on the table, takes some bacon or whatever was served for breakfast, then flies out. It's straight to the point, so unlike Evelina's own personality it's almost funny.
Other: Eve is a very disorganized person, and often has large piles of things she no longer needs. For example, she has her parents send her copies of the latest magazines such as Teen Vogue and Seventeen by owl, and has the copies in stacks beside and underneath her bed, along with a multitude of books she has finished. She also has a tendency to; when reading, after finishing a book with a cliffhanger, throw said book across the room and not retrieve it until at least an hour later.
AURAName: Aurelia Vita Takata
Gender: Female
Blood: Half-Blood
Age: 16
» Birthday: August 28
House: Hufflepuff
» Year: 6
» Quidditch: N/A
» Position: Student
Wand:
» Wood: Laurel
» Core: Diricawl Feather
» Length: 8 Inches
» Flexibility: Stiff
» Description: Aurelia's particular wand was only the twentieth one she tried, and though she tried to use another ten after that, it was the only one that seemed to work for her. It is very simplistic in its appearance, completely unadorned spare for a slightly defined handle. It suits her seemingly quiet, shy personality quite well in it's design, and it is very stiff, almost seeming to represent how little she'll change her opinion about things. Laurel may seem like a strange wood for such a shy person, but the wand was drawn to her hidden personality. A diricrawl feather wand often aids invisibility spells, apparition and disillusionment charms, fitting her tendency to blend into the background.
Appearance:

Description: Aura has natural red hair with blonde highlights, and it falls just past shoulder length when it is completely straight. She is quite short, standing at 5'3", but she likes it that way and never does anything to make herself seem taller. She has vibrant green eyes framed by light-coloured eyelashes and has a beautiful smile, although she doesn't show it off very often. She doesn't wear much makeup, only enough to hide her freckles, which are her worst feature, in Aura's opinion. She is extremely shy, and speaks so quietly that people don't hear her most of the time. She's also incredibly jumpy and can be scared by almost anything. Aura is very self-conscious and doesn't think much of herself at all, especially because she isn't very good at spells or charms. She has an knack for potions, however, and that is one of the only classes she enjoys. She is content to blend into the background, which she does easily, except for on what she calls her 'clumsy days' a day when she will almost seem to have a talent for tripping, walking into things and making a fool of herself. Though she has no really close friends, she is loyal to the people she loves and she will fight for them if she absolutely has to, although she can't think of any real reason or time as to why or when that would happen.
Background: On the hottest day of an already scorching summer, baby Aurelia was born to parents Faith and Edward Takata. Faith was the witch parent, and used magic not for everything, but often for simple household tasks and chores that no one wanted to do, such as vacuuming and doing dishes. Aura's parents started to worry when Aura didn't seem to show any magical talents as a young girl, they didn't want her to be a squib- she almost was, in fact. But, at the age of ten, she showed her first magical proficiency, making the blankets disappear off of the bed and out of the house one night when she was asleep. They still haven't found the blankets. When Aura was eleven she received the letter inviting her to Hogwarts, and her parents were overjoyed. They went out to Diagon Alley to go shopping immediately, and got her all her books, her wand and a kitten to take with her. She is now entering her sixth year at Hogwarts, and while she has gotten better at magic, she isn't amazing at it, and still prefers classes like arithmetic and divination. Her absolute favourite class, because she was good at it, was always potions and that has stayed the same.
Relations:
» Edward Joseph Takata - Father; 48; Surgeon
» Faith Rebecca Takata - Mother; 46; Ministry of Magic Worker; Former Gryffindor
Pet: Cat
» Name: Mittens
» Gender: Male
» Age: 6
» Appearance:

» Description: Aura named Mittens because of his paws, which have dark coloured fur around the majority of them, with pure white fur just at the front. He's fairly large, when stretched out his body is equal to the length of Aura's forearm (not including tail) and he weighs about twelve pounds. He's very affectionate, and likes being on Aura's bed. Often when she's sleeping, he will climb up to the pillow and go to sleep there, then, in the morning, start playing with her hair. She often wakes up to this and has to go through the task of disentangling Mittens from her hair and then, of course, brushing her hair out.
Other: Aura has double-jointed thumbs.
JUDEName: Julian Fiyero Lazar
Gender: Male
Blood: Pure-Blood
Age: 17
» Birthday: January 5
House: Gryffindor
» Year: 7
» Quidditch: Keeper
» Position: Student
Wand:
» Wood: Cypress
» Core: Erkling Darts
» Length: 13 Inches
» Flexibility: Slightly Bendy
» Description: Julian's wand is made out of cypress, a wood often associated with valour and bravery in the wizard owning the wand. And while the superstition of a heroic death may be more than a little creepy to him, at least it's a good way to go out. The wand's core is erkling darts, which is often a good core for people who like being the center of attention, often performers, and they help perform hexes and charms, although they aren't the best with defensive magic—he doesn't like fighting much anyways, and certainly not defensively. This particular wand was the seventh he tried in Diagon Alley, and it shot out green sparks when he waved it. He had taken a liking to it's appearance straight away, with the wand's beautiful display of different wood colours. It shows both dark and light shades of brown, making it look even more unique than it already is.The handle of the wand is not exaggerated, it is simply a part of the wood slightly thicker than the rest of the wand, and decorated with engravings in a design of triangles.
Appearance:

Description: Julian is a fairly tall person, standing at 6'1", and has light brown hair with blond highlights. His hair is usually swept to one side, but he doesn't style it, only brushes it like that in the mornings. He has a very showy personality, much like his twin sister Lorraine. He is very stubborn, not often changing his mind about things, and also has a tendency to make snap judgements. Julian harbours a deep love of music, and is a talented musician. He plays both the guitar and piano, and sings on occasion as well. He does like to show off, although he doesn't often. He is smarter than people might think, very good at arithmetic and reading runes, but he is also a sporty person. He likes to take care of his body and often jogs around the campus along with playing Quidditch. He is quick on his feet and a very fast thinker, good to have around in emergencies. Jude is a loving and protective person, especially of his family, which Lorraine commonly points out.
Background: Jude is technically the youngest child in the family, born only two and a half minutes after Lorraine, as she continually reminds him whenever she is feeling that he is being too protective. He grew up playing Quidditch and watching his parents use magic, so he has a natural love, appreciation, and talent for both. When he was eleven, both Jude and his sister received letters inviting them to Hogwarts, and of course they went. They were sorted into different houses, Jude into Gryffindor and Lorraine into Slytherin, but they haven't grown apart any—Lorraine even cheers for Gryffindor at most Quidditch games. Jude knows that he has a good life, and won't often complain about his life, but gets easily irritated when other people do, especially when their problems aren't that large. However, if a person does have real problems, he is always sympathetic, helpful, and optimistic.
Relations:
» Blake Lazar - Father; 55; Author; Former Ravenclaw
» Lindsey Lazar - Mother; 53; Author; Former Ravenclaw
» Lorraine Rebecca Lazar - Twin Sister; 17; Slytherin
Pet: Cat
» Name: Boo
» Gender: Female
» Age: 6 Months
» Appearance:

» Description: Boo is Julian's second cat, that he got only a month before returning to Hogwarts. She's a tiny kitten, small enough to fit in his hand still. He got Boo a year after his first cat, Tiger, passed away at six years old. Julian had got Tiger as an eleven-year old going to Hogwarts, and loved him very much. He was devastated when Tiger passed away, but got Boo as a new companion. People may wonder why a seventeen-year old boy would ever name a cat Boo, but the truth is, Jude didn't name Boo, Lori did. She meant to bother and tease him, but the name ended up sticking, and it seems to fit the kitten, who is terrified of almost everything.
Other: Julian's parents were obsessed with musical theatre, and gave him the middle name 'Fiyero' after the male lead from the musical 'Wicked'. He doesn't often use it.
AYDENName: Ayden Bernard August
Gender: Male
Blood: Half-Blood
Age: 11
» Birthday: December 13
House: Hufflepuff
» Year: 1
» Quidditch: N/A
» Position: Student
Wand:
» Wood: Larch
» Core: Dragon Heartstring
» Length: 10 Inches
» Flexibility: Swishy
» Description: This is the twelfth wand tried by Ayden in Diagon Alley; it produced a fountain of red sparks when he waved it. It is a plain, simple wand, a rich golden-brown color with red undertones. Larch wands have a reputation for instilling courage and confidence in their users, but Ayden has yet to witness any proof of that. It is a wand of hidden talents and unexpected effects, much like Ayden himself, who has yet to realize his full potential. It is a powerful wand, having a dragon heartstring core, but also somewhat temperamental and prone to accidents.
Description: Like his twin sister Jinx, Ayden is small, but brimming with energy. Eyes of vivid blue sparkle with mischief from underneath a mess of bright, copper-blonde curls. As he's gotten older, both him and his sister's hair has become closer to a strawberry-blonde color. With his freckled, fair cheeks and devious smile, he has a certain resemblance to an elf not aided by a pointed, dimpled chin and slightly upturned nose. Like his sister, his voice is small and medium-high in its pitch, but he tends to be easier to understand than his sister when it comes to speaking, as he does not try to get out everything he has to say in five seconds or less. Ayden is a very fiercely competitive jokester. Due to his age, he doesn't tend to think through things all the way, and some of his tricks do end up having negative consequences. Nonetheless, he is quick to apologize—if just for formality's sake—and move on to his next great prank. He is very empathetic, and hates seeing people sad. He and Jinx have the unique ability of being able to make Evander smile when he is in one of his moods. Ayden has a severely limited attention span and is very easily distracted. Fortunately, this usually balances out Jinx's intense focus. Ayden has a voracious appetite, and always seems to have food on his mind. He is very enthusiastic and outgoing, and has a hard time settling down and taking things seriously. When bad things happen, he tends to go through a long period of denial before he accepts the finality of the event. School has never been so much his thing as he is more of a physical, people-oriented person.
Background: Throughout their lives, Ayden and Jinx have been inseparable. When Ayden was four, there was a particular incident where his father tried to take him to a hardware store while his mother was trying to take Jinx to go grocery shopping. In the driveway, as his parents started moving him and Jinx towards separate cars, a bolt of electricity literally burst from the twins, resulting in a trip to St. Mungo's for their parents. The incident left no doubt that the twins were imbued with magical talent and despite being told that it was unlikely to happen again, their parents have never again tried to separate Ayden and Jinx. While he has no memory of the event, Ayden could recite it from memory due to the number of times he has heard the tale recounted at family gatherings. Ayden and Jinx have always been the troublemakers of their family, and Evander is frequently the subject of their tricks. Hogwarts presents a whole new world full of opportunity for trouble, which Ayden and his sister cannot wait to exploit.
Relations:
» Henry Jaredson August - Father; 47; Half-Blood; Former Hufflepuff
» Mabel Marianne August - Mother; 44; Half-Blood; Former Hufflepuff
» Evander Nikhil August - Brother; 13; Ravenclaw
» Jinx Helicia August - Twin Sister; 11; Hufflepuff
Pet: Owl
» Name: Kerra
» Gender: Female
» Age: 2
» Description: Kerra is a small little owl, light brown in color, with white and a few reddish feathers tossed into the mix. She has a golden beak and golden-brown eyes. She is quite fluffy and is only about half as big as she looks. She is very sweet, with a soft hoot and a weakness for being scratched on the back of the neck just so. She is shared by Ayden and Jinx.
Other: While some of Ayden and Jinx's tricks do occasionally have a more malicious nature, the majority of their pranks are quite harmless, meant all in good fun. Throughout the years, they have developed a sort of sign language to aid the execution of their tricks; that being said, they know each other so well they rarely need to speak to understand one another. Ayden would love to play Quidditch during his time at Hogwarts. While neither he nor Jinx have said anything, they are both terrified at the prospect of being sorted into different houses. He will be relieved to discover that the Hufflepuff dormitory is by the kitchen.
JINXName: Jinx Helicia August
Gender: Female
Blood: Half-Blood
Age: 11
» Birthday: December 13
House: Hufflepuff
» Year: 1
» Quidditch: N/A
» Position: Student
Wand:
» Wood: Dogwood
» Core: Unicorn Hair and Pixie Egg
» Length: 10 Inches
» Flexibility: Reasonably Springy
» Description: Jinx's wand was the second the wand maker handed her to try. He hit it right on the mark, for she and the wand bonded instantly, demonstrated by the wand sending the wand maker's loose papers lying on the counter by them flying through the air as if by a gust of wind. Jinx laughed and the wand maker simply commented that she and the wand would likely have great adventures together. The appearance of the wand is deceptively simple; it is thicker towards the base, growing narrower to just larger than the circumference at the top, polished smooth, and stained a deep, rich brown. It is playful with a mischievous nature, much like Jinx. While it needs fun and excitement, it is perfectly capable of serious magic, and is much more reliable than one would expect; likely due to the incorporation of unicorn hair in the core. The pixie egg causes the wand to have slight Light leanings, helped along by the unicorn hair; meaning Jinx would have a hard time practicing the Dark Arts if she ever felt inclined to do so. Pixie egg also boosts the wand's ability with Charms and also enables it to cast Peskipiksi Pesternomi, but also indicates that Jinx may be skilled in Care of Magical Creatures. Unfortunately, it is a wand that will never be 'quiet', not that Jinx minds, and is incapable of performing non-verbal spells, though it is a faithful wand, if rather needy.
Description: Like her twin brother Ayden, Jinx is small, but brimming with energy. Bright green eyes sparkle with mischief from underneath a mess of bright, copper-blonde curls. As she's gotten older, both her and brother's hair has become closer to a strawberry-blonde color. With her freckled, fair cheeks and devious smile, she bears a certain resemblance to a pixie not aided by fine eyebrows, a pointed and dimpled chin, and slightly upturned nose. Her face seems to alight with a certain vivacity when she smiles, which is a frequently-occurring event. Her voice is small and medium-high in its pitch. She tends to explode with an abundance of unintelligible syllables when she talks, which can be attributed to a creative mind overflowing with thoughts and ideas, and must be frequently reminded to speak slower. Jinx is a very fierce, spit-fire kind of individual. While she may have quite the temper, she is not one to hold grudges, and she is often surprised to find someone angry for some past grievance. She and Ayden have the unique ability of being able to make Evander smile when he is in one of his moods. Jinx tends to get intensely focused on a few things, which fortunately balances out Ayden's severely limited attention span and susceptibility for distraction. Like Ayden, she is very physical, though she does tend to do slightly better in school. Ultimately, she is a truly sweet girl who likes making people smile and hates to see people hurt.
Background: Throughout their lives, Jinx and Ayden have been inseparable. When Jinx was four, there was a particular incident where her mother tried to her to go grocery shopping while her father was trying to take Ayden with him to a hardware store. In the driveway, as her parents started moving her and Ayden towards separate cars, a bolt of electricity literally burst from the twins, resulting in a trip to St. Mungo's for their parents. The incident left no doubt that the twins were imbued with magical talent and despite being told that it was unlikely to happen again, their parents have never again tried to separate Jinx and Ayden. Though she was young, Jinx has a surprisingly accurate recollection of the incident, though she could recite it from memory due to the number of times she has heard the tale recounted at family gatherings. Jinx and Ayden have always been the troublemakers of their family, and Evander is frequently the subject of their tricks. Hogwarts presents a whole new world full of opportunity for trouble, which Jinx and her brother cannot wait to exploit.

While neither she nor Ayden have said anything, they are both terrified at the prospect of being sorted into different Houses. She has an astounding capacity to remember things, an ability that seems to only be getting stronger as she ages. Though no Legilimens, she often seems to know exactly what Ayden is thinking; they know each other so well they rarely need to speak to understand one another. The Hat will find that she could also be a suitable fit in Gryffindor.
EVANDERName: Evander Nikhil August
Gender: Male
Blood: Half-Blood
Age: 13
» Birthday: April 17
House: Ravenclaw
» Year: 3
» Quidditch: N/A
» Position: Student
Wand:
» Wood: Elm
» Core: Unicorn Hair
» Length: 8 3/4 Inches
» Flexibility: Stiff
» Description: Evander has a very sophisticated wand, made of elm and unicorn hair. It was the fifth wand he tried; the tip of the wand produced a glowing white light as soon as he gripped the ornamented handle. The handle of the light brown wand is signified by a circular bulb enveloping the base of the wand, and then another, slightly smaller one marking the top of the handle portion, expanding less than a pinky's distance the circumference of the wand. As similar to the sphere at the base, this adornment has a thin groove etched into the wand on either side of the almost inner-tube-like bulge. It is a very dependable wand, producing very few accidents yet being capable of performing advanced, elegant charms and spells. It is very dignified and very consistent, just as Evander tries to be.
Description: Evander is small for his age and thin, with a pale, freckled complexion. Shaggy dark brown hair tumbles over his head to brush the top of his brown, thick-rimmed glasses, and is just long enough to constantly fall into his eyes. He has a piercing gaze of a brilliant blue that seems to stare pointedly with an almost pinched expression of concentration. His voice is thin and slightly scratchy, it frequently cracks when he talks—it has only recently begun to change. Evander carries very little muscle on his small frame; what he does have he attributes to carrying school books. Evander is frequently embarrassed by the quirks of his rather eccentric, unconventional family. He often criticizes his parents' actions, wishing they could just act normal rather than indulge their weird, "artistic" whims. He doesn't mind the twins, Ayden and Jinx, so much as he attributes their behavior to their age, but he is mortified to be seen anywhere with his parents. Though he is only thirteen, Evander is very driven and highly ambitious. Perspicacious with a very sharp intellect, he fits right in with the rest of the Ravenclaws. While he can be uptight and a sometimes-overbearing perfectionist, he really can be fun and considerate when his friends can get him to relax.
Background: Despite his unconventional family, Evander had a rather normal childhood. At least as normal as can be, given his eccentric and slightly wild parents and his younger siblings, the twins Ayden and Jinx, who are a pair of trouble-making devils. The constant chaos of his home may have left him a little on edge, but so far he seems to have turned out okay. His parents, a pair of free-spirited artists, never quite understood his more intellectual interests. They have a hard time relating to him, resulting in a rather stunted parent-child relationship. What Evander really wants and needs is a mentor who comes from a similar place as him, as far as wanting to succeed and to escape from certain situations is concerned. As his parents have only ever been a cause of embarrassment for him before the peers he most wants to impress, Evander really wants to be accepted. Hogwarts has been great for him; it's been a place where he can be his own person, where he is not defined by who his family is. He has made many friends, mostly in Ravenclaw, but a few in Slytherin, and he has started to figure out more of who he is. While he may not be a genius, he is very smart, even among the Ravenclaws. As he enjoys winning, class has always been a competition for him, to the amusement of many of his peers and teachers. Fortunately, his teachers have, to their relief, seen him relax some throughout his time at Hogwarts.

Pet: Cat
» Name: Jeremy
» Gender: Male
» Age: 5
» Description: Jeremey is a large cat with short grey fur. He has stiff pointed ears of grey and a narrow, tapering face. His eyes are a yellow-green that contain just a little orange. He rarely makes a sound, and seems to think a great deal of himself. In a way, he is almost like a watchdog. At almost anytime, he can be found skulking about in some shadowy corner of wherever Evander is.
Other: In his two previous years at Hogwarts, Evander has never expressed an interest in Quidditch, and it would be quite the shock if he ever were to.
LORIName: Lorraine Rebecca Lazar
Gender: Female
Blood: Pure-Blood
Age: 17
» Birthday: January 5
House: Slytherin
» Year: 7
» Quidditch: N/A
» Position: Prefect
Wand:
» Wood: Pine
» Core: Glumbumble Honey and Hippogriff Feather
» Length: 15 Inches
» Flexibility: Stiff
» Description: Lori's wand is a rather unusual wand, in its blend of cores and even wood. Pine wands are good for being used creatively, and have a tendency to pick wizards or witches destined to live long lives, and it is very sensitive to non-verbal magic. The core of Lori's wand is a blend of hippogriff feather and glumbumble honey. It is a strange blend, because of the glumbumble honey's tendency to enhance all areas of magic, but detract from whatever core it is paired with. However, the hippogriff feather does not enhance any specific area of magic, and in this case, even adds a balancing effect to the wand, demanding respect from Lori. Her wand is fairly long, at fifteen inches, but it fits her showy personality. This wand is actually the second that she has owned. The first wand she got when she was eleven in Diagon Alley, and had it for two years until it broke, snapped in half during one of her classes. She then got a new wand, trying out more than enough—up to thirty five wands before finding her current one. It is very pretty, the wood is a golden colour and it has two glass balls defining the handle that glow with white light whenever she uses magic.
Appearance:

Description: Lori is tall like her brother, they're actually the same height, at 6'1". She has light brown hair that falls just past shoulder length and isn't exactly wavy, but it has a certain bounce to it. She has the same colour hair as her brother, a light brown colour with blond highlights. She is very pretty and she knows it, and often uses that to her advantage. She isn't at all ashamed or shy about her body, or really about anything. She will ask straight-up questions that are often considered rude without really caring. She is very smart, but cunning, as Slytherins often are. She likes tricking people but doesn't enjoy it when other people are in serious emotional or physical pain, and will often try to help them, even if they don't want her to or even think worse of her because of it. She loves performing and is a dramatic person, a gifted liar and actor. That's really all there is to acting, in her opinion, it's just lying. She's also a gifted singer, and her parents highly encourage her to go into the musical theater field of jobs. Lori does not have many friends, but what she does have is a tight-knit family, and even though they are in different houses, she and her brother have remained astonishingly close.
Background: Lorraine is the oldest child in the family, born a minuscule two and a half minutes before her brother Julian; she constantly reminds him of this fact, whenever she believes that he is being over-protective, something that is quite common, actually. She grew up playing Quidditch and watching her parents use magic, and though she never mastered Quidditch, she does love it, and is very good at most types of magic. When Lori was eleven, both she and her brother received letters inviting them to Hogwarts, and of course they went. They were sorted into different houses, Lori into Slytherin and Jude into Gryffindor, but they haven't grown apart any—Lorraine even cheers for Gryffindor at most Quidditch games.
Relations:
» Blake Lazar - Father; 55; Author; Former Ravenclaw
» Lindsey Lazar - Mother; 53; Author; Former Ravenclaw
» Julian Fiyero Lazar - Twin Brother; 17; Gryffindor
Pet: Hedgehog
» Name: Nutella
» Gender: Male
» Age: 1/2
» Appearance:

» Description: Nutella was named by Lori's twin brother Jude, after the delicious hazelnut spread that Lori loves. Lori loves the name, however. She got him at about the same time that Jude got his kitten, and they ended up naming each others' pets. Nutella is a certain species of hedgehog that will not get bigger, and will be able to fit in Lori's hand his whole life.
Other: Lori's favourite colour is purple and she hates having anything around her neck. You'll never see her wear a scarf, high-necked shirt or even a necklace.
OLINName: Olin Tomov
Gender: Male
Blood: Pure-Blood
Age: 47
» Birthday: December 10
Position: Defense Against the Dark Arts Professor
House: Slytherin
Wand:
» Wood: Blackthorn
» Core: Phoenix Feather
» Length: 11 3/4 Inches
» Flexibility: Supple
» Description: This particular wand was the ninth wand tried by Olin at the tender age of eleven. Just as Olin was about to hand the wand back to the shop owner, the wand shot off golden sparks. Their relationship went unchanged for years, only truly bonding when Olin was nineteen. Blackthorn wands usually must go through some hardship with their owner to become truly bonded, but Olin has yet to relate the details of that story, though he doubtlessly has it written up in a diary somewhere, in spidery, slanted handwriting. The wand saw in him a warrior, capable of great things. It still does. Now that they have fully bonded, it is an incredibly loyal and faithful wand, even if it does occasionally perform magic on its own accord.
Appearance:

Description: Olin has smooth skin of a very dark, rich brown, unmarred by pockmarks, scars, or the like. His steady gaze of a brown so dark it is almost black is found unnerving by some, yet for others it may have an opposite, calming effect. He is quite attractive, with a slender nose and a gentle face lacking any harsh definition. Though not particularly tall—he stands at about 5'11"—Olin carries himself with a commanding presence and sense of superiority that often makes him seem to be much taller than he is. With his willowy frame and feline-like grace, Olin seems to glide rather than walk as he moves down the hallways of Hogwarts and the rows of his classroom. Along with this, he has been known to be so quiet in his movement that he can approach a student and stand behind them unnoticed until he decides to speak. His voice is much the same way, quiet and silky, but somehow containing a great deal of power. He keeps his black hair trimmed very short, less than half an inch from his head, forcing the otherwise unruly tight curls into some semblance of order. He is only ever seen wearing his black robes, it is doubtful that he owns any other types of clothing. The first impression of Olin would generally leave one thinking of him as more of a Ravenclaw than a Slytherin. However, the Sorting Hat declared Olin a Slytherin practically before it had been set on his head, not that Olin was surprised. Like many Slytherins, he is cunning and ambitious, with a drive that leads him to succeed at whatever he does. He is a born leader, and was the Captain of the Slytherin Quidditch team in his sixth and seventh years (he was a Chaser). He is also very smart, though not as traditional as the stereotypical Slytherins. He is quiet and highly observant; he sees everything that happens in his classroom, and if he doesn't see it, he hears it. While he has a great deal of patience, once he loses his temper, he is a frightening sight. His anger is something to fear. He is very proud, but he is not one of the pure-blood elitists so frequently found in Slytherin. He values initiative and ingenuity, as well as honor and loyalty.
Background: Olin is one of those people who have always known what they want out of life and who know how to get it. After his first Defense Against the Dark Arts lesson, he knew that he wanted to one day teach the very same class. Twelve years later, he was. For the five years between the time he graduated from Hogwarts and the time he started teaching there, he traveled the world, visiting other wizarding communities and schools to learn as much about Defense Against the Dark Arts as he could. He even visited Azkaban, and spent time with the Aurors of Britain's Ministry of Magic. He kept a diary throughout that time, and ended up writing a book on what he learned. Needless to say, he is considered to be the current leading expert on the subject. Since teaching at Hogwarts, Olin has had less time to travel, though he has managed to do so fairly extensively during the summers. He still keeps a diary of the things he learns on these trips, which he can sometimes be found perusing, but he never discusses his travels, be it with a student or fellow teacher. Olin has been trying to set himself up to be named the Head of Slytherin, but so far that has not come to pass.

» Name: Clarisse
» Gender: Female
» Age: 17
» Appearance:

» Description: Clarisse is a Great Horned Owl, with brown feathers and large golden eyes. She is very observant and much too trusting of strangers. When she occasionally comes into the Great Hall to deliver mail to Olin, she will often go fraternize with the some of the Slytherins, pulling from Olin an indulgent smile. She is very sweet, and loves to be the center of attention. She doesn't mind being touched, especially if it involves scratching the back of her neck. A very soft hoot is her usual way of communication, generally being a sign of great pleasure. Sometimes she will get moody, at which point she fluffs up and, depending on whether she is more depressed or angry, will pick disconsolately at her feathers or snap peevishly at any unsuspecting fingers.
Other: Olin's patronus is a black panther.
AUGUSTName: Augustine Xardel
Gender: Female
Blood: Muggle-Born
Age: 16
» Birthday: March 4
House: Ravenclaw
» Year: 6
» Quidditch: N/A
» Position: Student
Wand:
» Wood: Pine
» Core: Phoenix Feather
» Length: 10 1/8 Inches
» Flexibility: Rather Bendy
» Description: This wand was the eighth tried by August in Diagon Alley. It is a slender, elegant, simple piece decorated only with a vine engraved into the wood, spiraling towards the tip of the wand from the base. It is a medium, cocoa brown kept in excellent condition by August. It chose August for her individuality and creativity, for she is always on the outside of the group, left to her own devices and to do her own thing. Like a phoenix, she is detached and independent, but content to be so. She has yet to truly gain dominance over her wand, but for now they are a team, working side by side. It is a wand designed for a creative witch or wizard, which is found in August. Pine wands, like this wand, are the most attuned to non-verbal magic, which suits August perfectly.
Appearance:

Description: August is a shy, introverted girl who has managed to keep to herself throughout her years at Hogwarts. She is good at passing by unnoticed, at least in regards to escaping the attention of her fellow students. Most teachers have taken note of her as a result of her excellent work in class. She is usually at the top of her class, though the students around her would never guess. She is about 5'6" and very small. Her older brother can touch his thumbs and his forefingers together if he puts his hands around her waist, but he does have pretty big hands. He is constantly on her case, making sure she's taking care of herself. If any of her peers have noticed her, it's probably because of her brother. She is artistic, and loves to write poems and short stories; not that anyone would ever know, she doesn't even share those with her brother, and he's the best friend she has. August has black hair that she wears one of three ways: down so it falls in front of her face when she's writing at which point she tucks it behind her ear, half-up and half-down so it falls over her forehead and often one of her eyes, or up in a loose and messy bun. Her eyes are a steely blue-grey color, and very pale, like her skin. The outdoors aren't really her thing, so her skin lacks the color gained by time spent in the sun, and thus remains a pale ivory color that is only ever colored by rosy tinges of embarrassment. As she is remarkably shy, she talks very quietly, except for occasional moments when she is alone with her brother and he gets on her nerves. It is medium-high with light, lyrical qualities. Sometimes she sings to herself in the shower, and she has a sweet soprano voice. She loves to learn, especially on her own, whether it be exploring or spending hours upon hours in the library reading a stack of books. She is almost never seen without a book, but she also has a small pad of paper and a quill tucked into an inside pocket of her robes that she pulls out and draws or writes in when no one else is around.
Background: August had a very normal life until one day when she was ten and discovered magic was real in the form of her brother receiving a letter on his eleventh birthday from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Her family hasn't seen her that excited about anything since her parents surprised her and her siblings with a trip to the Caribbean for Christmas when she was seven. That next year was torture for her as she waited anxiously for her eleventh birthday, in the hopes she would get a letter of her own. Her eleventh birthday was both the worst and best day of her life. As soon as she woke up, she ran to the mailbox, which just made her parents laugh. She spent the whole day checking the mailbox, and once the mail finally came, she was so dismayed at not finding her letter in with the rest of the envelopes and advertisements that she locked herself in the room for the rest of the night, refusing to come down for even dinner. But as she was falling asleep that night, a tapping on her window caught her attention. To her surprise, an owl was there, with a letter in its talons. Eyes wide, she opened the window and the owl flew in past her to drop the letter on her bed. It gave her a soft hoot and swept back out of the window and disappeared into the night. Cautiously, she opened the letter, and let out a whoop of joy for being informed she was a witch and invited to attend Hogwarts in the coming school year. She flew down the hall to her parents' bedroom, waving the letter and shouting excitedly. Her parents laughed and hugged and kissed her and wished her happy birthday.

» Name: Card
» Gender: Male
» Age: 7
» Appearance:

» Description: Card is a Great Horned owl, with loads of personality. August bought him in Diagon Alley when he was just about a year old. She saw him watching her from his cage with his head cocked to one side—he has a tendency to do so when he's interested in something—and decided that he was exactly the pet she was looking for, even though he tried to bite her fingers when she tried to pet his head. He is a decent-sized owl with huge yellow eyes. He isn't exactly friendly, but he's developed an affection for August over the years. Sometimes she will go visit him in the Owlery and study, and he'll come sit on her shoulder and nibble at her ear until she gives him a treat or scratches his head.
Other: August still has her first letter from Hogwarts. She keeps it in a little wooden box along with other objects she considers 'treasures'.
BRADLEYName: Bradford Xardel
Gender: Male
Blood: Muggle-Born
Age: 17
» Birthday: June 12
House: Gryffindor
» Year: 7
» Quidditch: Chaser
» Position: Prefect
Wand:
» Wood: Red Oak
» Core: Dragon Heartstring
» Length: 12 Inches
» Flexibility: Reasonably Springy
» Description: This particular wand was the sixth tried by eleven-year-old Bradley. It is a handsome wand, solely on account of the dark, reddish brown of the wood, which is why it is undecorated. Between the wood and the dragon heartstring core, it is a plenty powerful wand. Given its unusually fast reactions, it comes to no surprise that it's a potent dueling wand. It's taken Bradley some time to bond with his wand—he's had his fair share of accidents—but it's left him a better wizard for it.
Appearance:

Description: Bradley has brown hair that's just darker than a medium brown, and warm hazel eyes. He never does much with his hair, only ever pushing it from his forehead and ruffling it if it starts to get too long. He is kind and jovial, a popular, jock-sort of kid. He's gotten tall over the past year, finally growing into his enormous hands and feet, and is now 6'2" and thin from growing so fast. When he was little he was slightly chubby, but he was so funny and goofy that he wasn't really picked on for it. Over the years, he's built up a nice golden tan from all his time practicing Quidditch shirtless (conveniently showing off some pretty nice muscle). He is witty and loves a good pun. He delights in driving people crazy, he would brag that it is his specialty—he's not exactly modest. Change is something he craves; when things get too routine, he gets a little stir-crazy and usually ends up doing something rash that gets him in trouble. Though slow to anger, he has a ferocious temper worthy to be feared. He is very protective of his sister—he has been ever since they were little—it's one of the few things people take him seriously about. He considers his friends family, and will always have their back. He takes a lot of stupid risks—he's spent a few nights in the hospital—but has a grand time pulling his little crazy stunts.
Background: Bradley had a very normal, mundane life until one day in June seven years ago. It was on that day, his eleventh birthday, that his world was suddenly flipped on its head. Low and behold, he got a letter from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, informing him that he was a wizard and was invited to attend the school for the coming school year. Understandably, he was thrilled, and his world has never been the same.

Pet: Cat
» Name: Jerry
» Gender: Male
» Age: 4
» Appearance:

» Description: Bradley named Jerry after the Loony Tunes "Tom and Jerry." Jerry, however, is much less uptight than his namesake. While he does like to sometimes chase other students' pets (especially the owls), he never actually harms any of the other animals found at Hogwarts. He is a silly thing, constantly crawling into small spaces and hiding under beds to pounce on unsuspecting, socked feet. He was a Christmas gift for Bradley, when the Gryffindor was in his third year.
Other: Bradley has a very obvious thing for Kat, despite her constant rebukes of his 'affection'.
LISBETName: Elisabet Eleonora Gunhild Pedersen
Gender: Female
Blood: Pure-Blood
Age: 14
» Birthday: November 26
House: Ravenclaw
» Year: 4
» Quidditch: Seeker
» Position: Student
Wand:
» Wood: Walnut
» Core: Kelpie Hair
» Length: 10 3/4 Inches
» Flexibility: Unyielding
» Description: Lisbet's wand is of a slender, cleanly-cut design, with a graceful handle of ruby-tinged walnut wood carved into the likeness of a simple bloom, complementing the caramel lustre of the rest of the wand. Inside the baton-like shaft is embedded a single kelpie hair, bestowing upon it its temperamental quality. It measures exactly ten and three-quarter inches, precisely. It is positively unyielding in its rigidity and intractability, signifying its master's unwillingness to comply with rules or to follow the "norm". It was the seventeenth wand Lisbet tried out in Ollivander's shop, and it produced a shower of silver sparks when she waved it, prompting a nearby chair to smolder with cyan flames.
Appearance:

Description: Lisbet is a wispy-looking little slip of a thing. She has a frail, petite build, with long, spindly, stick-like legs, a flat chest, narrow hips, thin shoulders, and willowy, awkward-looking arms that dangle at her side like a pair of pendulums. Despite this, she is actually astonishingly strong and lithe, a natural athlete. Lisbet's hair courses over her alabaster skin like a raging creek, perpetually in motion, rippling like smoothly trickling water. In accordance with her Nordic heritage, it is an eye-wateringly effulgent tint of purest silvery gold, and each gossamer-like strand impossibly fine. Her face is as pale and white as a dove's wing, and heart-shaped, with a pointed, slightly cleft, chin, peaked hairline, faintly rubicund lips, small nose, and wide, glassy cobalt-coloured eyes ringed with long, soft fringes of toffee-tinted lashes, like a doe's. Her whole frame is bony and angular, and she looks as though she might be toppled by the faintest gust of wind at any time. However, contradictory to her exterior appearance, Lisbet has a medium-toned voice, which is often laced with either skepticism, sarcasm, heavy with irony, or woven with cynicism. She is both a stellar athlete and student, and that arrogance has polluted both her personality and her speech.
Background: Elisabet Pedersen was born to a wealthy, respected pure-blood family. Her father was the renowned entrepreneur of a lucrative chain of apothecaries, a man named Benedikt Axel Pedersen who had been a former Durmstrang student. Her mother, who had not been wed to her father at the time, was a girlfriend of his, a young woman named Aurélie Blanchefleur Girard, who was aged twenty at the time. Benedikt had been a wild spirit in his youth, a sort of "ladies' man". He had the ability to make females swoon and drop, comatose, to the ground. He had, during his time at Durmstrang, seduced a number of unwary maidens, and it was like a game to him. They had never realised that they meant nothing to him, that they were merely playthings in his careless, manipulative hands. With a flash of his ivory teeth, a gleam of his intensely sea-blue eyes, or a lazy flip of his golden curls, he prided himself on having the power to get his way in anything that he liked. His doting parents, who had been fairly old when they had had him, gave him anything and everything he could ever want. And they could give him a lot, for they belonged to the wealthiest Wizarding family in all of northern Europe. He was unstoppable. Naturally, this led to arrogance and an incurable superiority complex. He strutted about Durmstrang, as though he were the next Grindelwald, a man worthy of infamy. He was nothing less than a bully. He abused the other students as he liked, sometimes even physically injuring them. He swore at them, mocked and taunted them, stole their belongings, locked them in broom closets, and broke their limbs. He cursed them, hexed them, even tortured them with the Cruciatus Curse. However, in the eyes of the teachers, the "golden lad" could do no wrong. Benedikt left school in a blaze of glory, his professors pronouncing him destined for great things in life. They were not mistaken. Upon his graduation, Benedikt had decided to be an anarchist in the matter of his family's expectations. He had nurtured a liking for complete independence and for ignoring his parents' rules. They had wanted him to go into the family field of investor and banker. They had run the one Wizarding bank in Scandinavia for a great many generations, and had reaped massive profits from it. However, their son defied them by becoming an entrepreneur. He did not care, frankly, what he would sell, but he wanted to get away from his parents. Resolving to found an apothecary, he opened his first apotek in the second year of his graduation; he became a huge success in a matter of a few months. Women, mesmerized by his grinning likeness on his advertisements, flocked to his stores to buy his wares. Men followed their women into his shops. Soon, he was outselling all the competition, and had amassed a profit of over one billion Galleons. That, added on to his family's already vast fortune, ready to pass into his hands upon his parents' death, made him arguably the richest wizard in all of Europe. Still not content with having the witches of England under his command, he proceeded to search for the one thing he felt was missing in his life--a partner. He found one in a young woman, fresh out of Beauxbatons, Aurélie Blanchefleur Girard, a girl with quite a temper and good looks to match. She was a coquette, and skilled at charming men. Upon their meeting, it was clear that they were meant for each other. They both were possessed of a strong will, and both were persuasive and charismatic. As girlfriend and boyfriend, they lived happily in an expensive villa in Cannes until the birth of their child. When they first got a glimpse of the girl, it was easy to see that they were not satisfied. She was small and feeble, and lacked the glowing good looks of her parents. Her hair was wispy and basically white, and her rib cage was bony and narrow, like her hips and the rest of her body. Nevertheless, grudgingly, they kept her. Even in her childhood, Elisabet seemed to yearn for sunlight. Her stunted figure was of no use to anyone. Her father had hoped to introduce her to Quidditch, his own favourite pastime. Upon her first time playing Chaser, she promptly fell off the broomstick and broke several of her fragile bones. Thoroughly disgusted with his offspring, he declared that night that he had a mind to disown her, his puny weakling of a daughter. However, leaving his girlfriend would force him to go back to his family, who were, by now, displeased with his conduct. So, he stayed. Over time, he discovered that she'd a brilliant mind for figures and was a potential Seeker talent. But he could not get past the fact that she was nothing that he'd wanted. He barely tolerated her presence in his house. On her eleventh birthday, Elisabet received an owl from Hogwarts while vacationing in Milan, and left immediately by train with her mother to get ready. Hogwarts, to Elisabet, is the loving home she never had. She finds solace in the cool tapestry-hung Ravenclaw common room, and the serenity of Scotland. There, she feels loved, unlike her pitiful home life.

Pet: Owl
» Name: Carmen
» Gender: Female
» Age: 1
» Appearance:

» Description: Carmen is more of a pet than a messenger. Being a saw-whet owl, she is only a few inches tall, and a positive furball of fawn and white feathers. She has large eyes, huge black pupils ringed with aureoles of iridescent yellow. She is magically bred (she's got a bit of phoenix on one side), so her life expectancy is about two hundred times the average lifespan of the ordinary saw-whet owl. A pampered little thing, she is positively adored by Elisabet and fed to the point of gluttony, cuddled every day for hours, and generally spoiled rotten. She has a temper to match Elisabet's and is a vain little thing, primping herself in front of a little mirror Elisabet fashioned for her every day, but also an extraordinary amount of intelligence for a mere bird. Lisbet was rather lonely in her childhood, having been figuratively abandoned by her unloving parents. In her third year, Lisbet, tired of having no confidante, purchased Carmen from Eeylops Owl Emporium. Since then, the two have been the best of friends.
Other: Lisbet speaks several languages. In addition to English, she is fluent in French, Flemish, German, Swedish, Norwegian, and Finnish.

Wand:
» Wood: Aspen
» Core: Fairy Wing
» Length: 11 Inches
» Flexibility: Unyielding
» Description: Sage had a tough time finding the perfect wand. Her father took her to one other wand shop before finding the perfect wand. This wand was the first wand that Sage tried, the others provided reasonable damage to Olivander’s shop. Her wand is a bright brown with a few dings here and there from where she has dropped it, or it flew out of her hand. The body and tip is perfectly smooth, minus the dents, and comes to an elegant, sharp point. Sage has no problem telling you how beautiful she thinks her wand is, but her favorite part is the handle. The handle of the wand is encrusted with gold designs that seem, to her, move whenever she casts a spell. Since her wand is made of Aspen wood, it enhances her charm casting abilities. Also, Aspen paired with the fairy wings, the best core for charms, makes an almost unbeatable charm casting wand.
Appearance:
Description: Sage is tall, about 5’7”, and weighs one hundred and twenty-three pounds. She usually doesn't wear any makeup, unless she is trying to impress someone. She is sweet and brave; the Sorting Hat practically yelled "GRYFFINDOR" when it touched her head at the start of her first year. She is usually always trying to help others or exploring the castle. Sage has a little rebel side of her though, she likes to explore at night time. That usually leads to her trying to hide from the care taker. She has stumbled upon many hide-always that have proven useful for her. She doesn't often get into trouble in class, but when she does it’s usually because she was talking. Sage loves to talk, all the time. She can rant about her favorite Quidditch team or what grade she got in Charms for hours if you let her. But like everyone else, she has her bad days too. You can tell she's having a bad day if she's quiet. If she's being quiet, it's usually because she's mad or sad. That, or she's planning something.
Background: Sage’s father was the one to teach her Quidditch, and when she is home over the summers he will help her with her homework too. He also helped her apply for a job at Madam Malkin's dress shop when she was a fifth year, where she got the job of a tailor. Sage’s mother taught Sage how to heal minor wounds without magic, and how to be compassionate. The family had lived together in an apartment for years until Sage got her letter. Then they moved closer to where Diagon Alley was. Sage grew up with many friends who were muggles. They knew she was different, but she could never actually tell them why because of the Statute of Secrecy.

ENDERName: Endymius Mercutio Stavanger
Gender: Male
Blood: Pure-Blood
Age: 17
» Birthday: October 31
House: Slytherin
» Year: 7
» Quidditch: Chaser
» Position: Student
Wand:
» Wood: Cherry
» Core: Phoenix Feather
» Length: 12 1/2 Inches
» Flexibility: Pliable
» Description: Descending from a family with a close association with blackthorn wands, the revelation that their only son had been "cherry picked" had almost led Viridius Stavanger to remove him from Olivander's entirely, but for the elderly wandmaker's observation of its core. Ender had entered the somewhat unprepossessing premises with a feeling of disquiet stirring within him, but all that had been dismissed as though by a patronus as his slender hand closed upon the ascending screw of the warm-coloured wand's handle. "Now then, now then this is... intriguing..." he could still recall the silver-eyed wandmaster intoning to himself, as he watched attentively, which, as it turned out, proved to be the case; the phoenix whose feather resided at the core turned out to be a particularly trying specimen to procure feathers from, and indeed, only one was managed.
Appearance:

Description: With a fiercely independent steak that recommended him to Slytherin and a sharp mind that had Ravenclaw on the tip of the Sorting Hat's tongue. Endymius Stavanger is the only son of respected Auror captain Viridius Stavanger and celebrated expert in ancient and infectious maladies, specialising in Spattergroit, Healer Elizabeth Stavanger. With Slytherin's tainted reputation still recovering from the disgrace of the Potter years added to his own natural introversion, the image that is presented to any observer is that of a withdrawn, aloof elitist, something of a paragon of Slytherin arrogance, and while no true in the slightest, his impatience tends to do him detriment, exacerbating the warped perception of the reserved, but giggled about 7th year. His only outlet is Quidditch, and in the air, Ender expresses himself, taking his late grandfather's advice to heart. "Find what makes your heart soar, little Ender, and, never stop."
Background: A graduate of Durmstrang, his grandfather, Marius Arvarad Stavanger fled his native Sweden during Grindelwald's rise to power, seeking sanctuary among the wizarding community, even changing his surname to Stevens for a time to avoid the creeping xenophobia within both the Muggle and Magical communities. It was after the dark lord's defeat by the great Albus Dumbledore, that he ventured to return, only to find his father's business trading in rare and exotic antique curiosities utterly ruined. Disillusioned, but with his father's accumulated savings, he returned to England with a burning desire to revenge himself upon dark wizards of Grindelwald's ilk. Applying for training as an Auror, that was where he met and eventually married his wife. Retiring to the country, turning his hand once more to his father's historied trade, establishing himself firmly in both the Magical and Muggle rare goods scene. Of his four children, it was only his youngest, Viridius who took to combating dark wizards, and it was on his sixth mission against the newly risen pure-blood zealot sect, the sons of the Serpent that, incapacitated by an alarming case of exploding boils, he met his future wife. After going out together for two years, they opted to tie the knot, and two years later, their first child was born, followed four years after that by a lovely little girl. Named Endymius because his father had jokingly referred to him as a "heartbreaker" on account of his mother's bright azure eyes contrasting oddly with his father's dark hair, the little boy grew into a paradox of his father's Swedish-Italian heritage and his mother's Anglo-French ancestry, pure-blood families both sides. A voracious reader from a young age, it was at his father's suggestion that he took up first broomstick racing, and when he proved inadequately gifted at that, quidditch. His grandfather's favourite grandson, as his father had been his favourite son, it was he who bought him his first pet, a kestrel chick, which he named Sväva. Alas the fledgling was accidentally eaten by Kasta, their pet cat shortly after his grandfather's death. Remembering his morfar (grandfather) by taking to the air like never before, he'd spend hours out in the fir-fringed field behind the mansion, practicing every chance he got, determined to do the old man proud. A dedicated student, Ender made few friends, but those he did, soon came to realise, that even though he was from one of the older pure-blood families in Europe, he did not act with the associated pride. One person he knew prior to their coming to Hogwarts together, was the current Head Girl, beautiful but elevated Kathrynn, whom he calls Trina, and even then only when they are in each other's company. Having grown up side by side, the Åkerstedt-Swanstroms and the Stavangers being close, Ender and Kat spent a fair portion of their childhood in each other's company, as there were few other wizarding families where they lived "Endy" was one of the few close friends young Trina really had and vice versa. Both reserved introverts to the public eye, it never occurred to any of their fellow students that their relationship might trespass beyond passing acquaintance. One of the few people aside from family that Ender can be said to care about, her elevation to her current position is a source of private pride. Rather than ascending the ladder of student authority like her however, Ender opted for isolation and academic excellence, but naturally has not been without certain adolescent infatuations. Considering Trina more of a sister and confidante than a romantic partner he has long tried, and for the most part succeeded in suppressing his preoccupation with a certain flame haired Gryffindor Chaser, then Captain, in addition to an awkward caring covetousness of the rainbow-haired Ravenclaw, whose easy popularity, he envies from afar. Never gathering his resolve sufficiently to manifest his intent, and with their final year dawning, his private reservations concerning whether either would even consider him worth their affections, and indeed which of them to choose fuels his fears that either will be lost to him, unless, finally he bridges the divide, if he can.

» Appearance:

» Description: As her name suggests, Nyfk was hatched curious; as swift as an arrow and keen a a whistle, she was presented to Ender upon achieving his eleventh birthday. Since that fateful day, boy and bird have been all but inseparable. An intelligent bird, Ender managed to train her to carry messages before they headed off to Hogwarts, and while at school Nyfk has served as go between between Ender and his sister. Particularly favouring a morsel of flobberworm as a treat. Affectionate as a raptor can be, she likes perching on her master's shoulder and often takes to the air with him when he practices Quidditch, indeed, during their early years, Ender tried to use her as a snitch substitute!
Other: Quidditch aside, Ender is a natural potioneer, so much so that it has been said that he might even have elicited a smirk of pride from the great man himself, war hero and former head of Slytherin house Professor Severus Snape himself.
CALLAName: Calla Delta Brunelli
Gender: Female
Blood: Pure-Blood
Age: 50
» Birthday: March 24
Position: Head of Ravenclaw; Divination Professor
House: Ravenclaw
Wand:
» Wood: Cedar
» Core: Unicorn Hair
» Length: 12 Inches
» Flexibility: Unyielding
» Description: Calla's wand is of cedar and unicorn hair, which makes for an interesting wand that speaks great lengths about her character. Cedar wands commonly bond to people with a great deal of perception, befitting Calla because she has the sight, the ability to tell prophecies of the future. Cedar wands often also bond to people with hidden inner strength, something which Calla has more than enough of. Unicorn hair is a core that often bonds easily and is very faithful to it's owner. Her wand has a beautiful design, the handle is made of rounded rose quartz, accenting the red colouring in the wood. Other than the stone handle it is very simplistic, without design. It was the fifteenth wand tried by Calla when she was eleven, and just as she was about to give it back to the shop owner it shot blue sparks.
Appearance:

Description: Calla looks slightly younger than her age, but not by much. She has short dark brown hair and a pale complexion, partly because it is a genetic trait in her family and partly because she does not spend a lot of time outside. Most of the time she has a soft, small voice, but she can be frightening when she yells. Calla teaches the Divination class, and she possesses the Sight, a rare gift that enables certain witches or wizards to predict the future. She is a kind person, and doesn't like being strict with students, but will if she has to, it's part of the job. However, she always offers help to anyone that needs it, in any subject. She is very optimistic about things, and tries to pass that on to students as well.
Background: Calla came from a very wealthy family. She was the oldest of six children, with two sisters and three brothers. She was under constant pressure from her parents to be the best, a constant competition between the siblings. Most of the family went into Ravenclaw, with one person in Gryffindor and another in Hufflepuff. As they grew older, Calla's siblings surpassed all of her accomplishments, and she quickly went from her parents' favourite child to their least favourite. While she was showing to possibly have the Sight, it wasn't a skill her parents were interested in. The children grew up and all moved out, and while Titus and Coral Brunelli still try to contact their eldest daughter, the letters are simply filled with news of other people's accomplishments, and Calla doesn't write back. When she was twenty she applied for the job as the Divination Professor at Hogwarts, and got it. Twenty-five years later she was promoted to the Head of Ravenclaw. Calla has not married and seldom dates, she has no children and is a bit sad about that because she can't have children anymore. Because of this she tries to act as much the mother as she can to students at Hogwarts, and is always open to help with everything and anything.

» Stevan George Brunelli - Brother; 34; Potioneer; Former Ravenclaw
Pet: Cat
» Name: Mist
» Gender: Female
» Age: 5
» Appearance:

» Description: Calla found Mist in a muggle pet shop five years ago, as just a kitten. She immediately took a liking to her, because she was different. She has two different eye colours, green and blue, and it often appears as if she is looking through a person, as if she sees more. She is not a very affectionate cat, except for around Calla. She will bite, scratch and hiss at anyone else who tries to touch her.
Other: Her favourite lesson to teach is with tea leaves, because it gives her an excuse to drink way too much green tea, which she loves.

Wand:

» Length: 10 Inches
» Flexibility: Slightly Bendy
» Description: The last thing Sam expected upon stepping across the threshold of Ollivander’s, was to have a wand leap out from under a tottering mountain of wands, causing quite a collapse. To her immense relief however, the elderly proprietor was not at all incandescent with rage at the dismantling of the precarious pinnacle. "Been putting off reshelving them for ages, that’ll teach me!" he had chortled gnomishly, wading into the mess and extracting the culprit. "Ahh, a vine wand eh, I ought to have guessed!" Though a little lighter than she had initially anticipated, and encouragingly flexible, Sam was flabbergasted to find out later, the particular qualities held within, and how much they catered to her own unique needs.
Appearance:
Description: With her slight frame and cascading hazelnut hair accentuated by her startlingly blue eyes, Sam has often been the definition of the word "cute", and her open, sociable nature facilitates the finding of friends, which is something of a mixed blessing. Marked by a bizarre incident during her childhood keeping tabs on those who know her has proved difficult. How much it has affected the girl she is, even the healers at St. Mungo's cannot say with any degree of certainty, but far from shying away from a complicated world, she embraces it. Amiable, bubbly and often willing to try new experiences, Hogwarts proved to be the step out into the world that she craved; so many new experiences, new memories.
Background: Born sixth and last of five daughters and one son, her parents never anticipated that their unassuming little family would ever draw the attention of anyone of note. Amiable and accommodating, her father, magical maintenance officer Sandalwood Sporander, had never attracted undue attention, diligently going about his jobs as a good ex-Hufflepuff would, a fact that made the sudden appearance of agents belonging to the dissident Neo-Voldemortian sect The Sons of the Serpent all the more alarming. It would later turn out that "Simple Sandy" as he was sometimes known, was the secret keeper for a clandestine counter-terrorist schism within the Aurors who called themselves the Order of the Black Dogs. Like the Potters confidence in the treacherous Pettigrew, Sandal had been chosen for his knack of inconspicuity, so much so that a double protection was in place, in that he retained no memory of the Black Dogs or even that he knew any secret of theirs, having been subjected to a triggered memory charm, which would only be broken with the utterance of a specific opening phrase. His family were forced to watch as they tortured him, with the thinking that their anguish might coerce him to divulge the necessary information after the memory charm had been broken. A child of three at the time, the sight of her father's pain, his tormentor's perverse obsession and her family's collective terror wrought a horrific change upon her, and even to this day, she is haunted by nightmares, fleeting scenes she can never fully recollect, impaled upon half-remembering, like wanting to catch smoke. Fortunately the breaking of the charm triggered an alert and just as he stared death defiantly in the eye, his Black Dog brothers stormed the Sporander's Clapham home. Alas, Sandal's sanity could not be saved, and out of a mixture of shame and respect for his family, the order committed funds to sustaining his residence in St. Mungo's where he remains in a private suite to this very day. The Sporander children were later subjected to remedial dememorisation in an attempt to purge such horror from their minds, all save Scintilus, who went on to work under Captain Stavanger of the Aurors. It was to be a routine procedure, and on one so young, complications were unanticipated, but what occurred, left Sam with a periodic recollection paradox, otherwise known as goldfish syndrome in modern parlance and perflumens in older terminology; something like deja vu, her condition causes her to forget about things that happen to her. Aware of the here and now her memory for detail does not extend beyond what happened to her three hours previously. For a while this was, understandably terrifying, waking up every day, not being able to remember who she was or where she was and all the rest of it,but the perseverance of her mother and sisters gradually saw , some of her long term memory return. One of the things that really helped calm her down and focus, were flowers; just by looking at them, they proved that she did not need to remember in order to appreciate their unchanging beauty. (Great care was taken to replenish the blossoms so that she would not lose her 'anchor' as healers termed it.) After sustained sessions under the care of Healer Pyramus Sprout, she began to retain her long term memory, blossoming like the flowers she loved into a confident young girl. Fears that she would have to be consigned to St. Mungo's like her father proved unfounded as her memory therapy transformed her into an extremely attentive child, and a ravenous reader and indeed writer, recorder and chronicler. Prior to being allowed her own personal pensieve to revisit short term memories, she would fill pages and pages with her thoughts, observations and increasingly skilled sketches. Her present to herself on her eleventh birthday was to have a purple water lily tattooed around the left side of her left eye. With her bedroom in St. Mungo's overlooking an interior "recuperative green", her fascination with the delicate aquatic blossom made it a powerfully personal symbol. With her exhaustively honed attention to detail, her newly discovered brilliance almost led the Sorting Hat to place her in Ravenclaw, but she chose Hufflepuff, her father's former house. Her sunny disposition contrasted with her unconscious intensity made her quietly popular, and her marked proficiency for Charms, and subsequently Divination added to her dedication to her studies made her a favourite with her teachers. Deathly afraid of flying, it was only under the gentle confidence of her firm friend Alexa that she truly grew comfortable with life at the wizarding school.

Pet: Cat
» Name: Nym
» Gender: Male
» Age: 7
» Appearance:
» Description: A tenth birthday present from Sasa "to give you a little friend to take to Hogwarts". The truth was that Nym was the only survivor of a neglectful mother, and though initially frightened, the snow white, grey eyes tom grew heavily attached to his little mistress. If one were to ask Sam to sum him up, she'd have said that Nym was "a grey-eyed ghost who sees the sights and a purring marshmallow in the nights". Rarely spending time away from his mistress when she's not in class, the agile rooftop prowler and bane of mice displays an uncanny timing, always greeting Sam with a cuddle of meows and a meaningful look. Generally tolerant of other felines, he will display his displeasure if any dare to divert his mistress's attention from him if he desires her to baby him.
Other: Though she would never play in a million years, she is fascinated by Quidditch, dissecting each game she watched carefully, and rewatching select memories via her pensieve. One of the few students to actually enjoy History of Magic, her worst subject is Defence Against the Dark Arts, not because she doesn't understand the subject, but because it gives her nightmares.

Wand:
» Wood: Hazel
» Core: Cherub Hair and Phoenix Feather
» Length: 11 Inches
» Flexibility: Swishy
» Description: When Trix got this particular wand, the shop owner didn't even have to pull it out for her to try, he simply moved a box and it shot out, soaring straight by his face and into Trix's open hand. Her reflexes were great even at the age of eleven and she caught it with ease. She liked its appearance immediately as well; it looked showy without being over the top. The wand is thin, and fairly consistent in it's width up until the point, where it quickly narrows into nothing. On the end of the wand the wood loops and then seems to wrap around the base of the handle, and Trix has tied things like her keys onto the loop. Trix fully bonded to the wand at the age of fifteen, the phoenix feather core making it harder to bond with than a normal hazel wand, but it still does perform some unintentional magic. The wand may prove a dangerous weapon when Trix wields it, because hazel as a wand wood will reflect it's owner's emotional state, and while Trix understands her emotions, she is not in control of them, ever. Hazel wands are very unique in the sense that they will often wilt upon their owner's death, because of the strong emotional bond with the user. Hazel wood can also detect concealed water and are generally very powerful wands, at least in the hands of skilled or talented people, which Trix (although she wouldn't say it) most definitely is. Phoenix feather is the rarest of the three supreme cores, and they are capable of the greatest range of magic. The core does have a twin out there somewhere, but Trix doesn't know where it is or whom it belongs to. Phoenix feathers are very picky about potential owners, but this wand came straight to Trix, the wand sensing something in her that it liked. The other core in the wand is cherub hair, which is sometimes used to prove Trix does in fact have a romantic side. This core provides minor boosts to healing, Divination and Charms, especially Glamour Charms, which Trix uses a lot.
Appearance:

Description: Trix is a sort of medium height, at 5'7". Her hair is naturally blonde, long, and it curls on the ends, but she dyed it bottom half of it orange over the summer. Her hair is long, thick, and there's lots of it, so with her tendency to wear it in a voluminous style, it almost seems to dwarf her head, making her appear small and petite, while she's really not. She has full, pouty lips, a slender and small nose along with green-grey eyes. She has a tendency to blink too much, and her most awkward moment around that was when someone repeatedly asked her if she had something in her eye. She is a large fan of Glamour Charms to slightly alter her appearance instead of using makeup. For example, as she is a major sports fanatic, to make herself look better after a Quidditch game, she would use a Glamour Charm to fix her hair, making it look as good as if she had spent an hour styling it. She loves red lipstick and black eyeliner, she has a very classic style-with her makeup, at least. Lately she's been wearing orange lipstick to match her hair. She has a loud voice, loves talking and often ends up yelling by accident. She's a naturally social person who loves to have fun and simply be around people. She has an aggressive side however, and that combined with her sporty nature and natural talent on a broom led her to become a chaser on the Hufflepuff Quidditch team in only her second year, and has kept that position and even become captain. She is good at all areas of magic, excluding Herbology- she never had much of a green thumb. Trix has a tendency to be almost late for things, commonly showing up at the last minute. She never seems to be flustered however, and always appears calm, collected and confident. This is not always accurate though, as she is often very stressed out or upset without letting anyone know, and this can sometimes cause what seems like overdramatic outbursts where she will get very upset over little things.
Background: Trix was the product of a wizard father and an one-night stand when he and the woman were both in their late teens. The mother gave birth to Trix and then left her in an orphanage. Trix still hasn't met either one of them. When she was eleven she was invited to Hogwarts, and the school arranged things with the orphanage, paying for her books and other things. When Trix was about to leave for Hogwarts, one of the orphanage owners handed her a small kitten and said simply: "She's yours now. Take care of her." Trix gladly did, and went off to Hogwarts, thinking that she would finally get a family- for most of the year, at least. She thought her parents were dead. She also didn't know anything about her biological parents except for her mom's name, as her mom had been the one to drop her off at the orphanage. During Trix's second year at Hogwarts she ended up seated next to a few of the first-years. A fellow second-year pointed out the shocking resemblance between Trix and the two boys closest to her—both of them first years. Trix had the boy called Lochlan's eyes, and the same nose as the one called William. Trix immediately told the two her story, of how she had been abandoned to the orphanage by her mother. "I'm either muggle born- which I think is unlikely," she told them, "Or a half-blood." She told them her mother's name and her general appearance. Tall, with brown hair and green eyes. "Father has a picture of a woman who looks like that!" Lochlan had explained, "We'll send an owl asking about you." And they did, but got no response. At Christmas, however, when the twins returned, they explained the explosion that had happened at home. So, Trix was their half-sister, because of a teenage one night stand. The boys' mother was perfectly fine with harbouring Trix as a daughter—even though she had no reason to—but their father wanted nothing to do with her. Trix still hasn't met either of them, and has spent the summers at the orphanage. She hopes to meet them this year, if only to slap her father in the face for being a complete and total asshole.

» Appearance:

» Description: When Trix was eleven, about to leave for Hogwarts, the people from the orphanage gave her Moody. He kept her company and she sometimes says that he is her only real family. A white cat with yellow-rimmed blue eyes, he's fairly large as well, and heavy. Trix can lift him, however, thanks to her strong arm muscles from Quidditch. She loves her cat and he often sleeps on her bed. She does't mind however, it doesn't matter what he does.
Other: Trix is not usually an aggressive person, but she will defend herself if she has to, and she has muscles that she isn't afraid to use. She is considered friends with the whole school, and everyone her year, the year above and the year below know her. The downside is that they all know her history, as well.
HARRIETTName: Harriett Arabesque Finch-Fletcher
Gender: Female
Blood: Pure-Blood
Age: 34
» Birthday: September 23
Position: Muggle Studies Professor
House: Gryffindor
Wand:
» Wood: Pear
» Core: Fwooper Feather and Phoenix Feather
» Length: 13 1/2 Inches
» Flexibility: Swishy
» Description: The pear wood lends a golden tone to the wand and also splendid magical powers. Wielders of pear wands are usually popular and well-respected, which has been true throughout Harriett's life thus far. No one is able to recount an instance where a pear wand has been found in the possession of a Dark witch or wizard, a fact Harriett does not mind. Pear is one of the most resilient wand woods, and to this day, despite having been in use for twenty-three years now, still looks as new as the day Harriett bought it. The Fwooper feather does extremely well with Charms and Care of Magical Creatures, even though its presence makes the wand incapable of casting Quietus. It has been combined, in this instance, with Phoenix feather for health, as Fwooper feather is otherwise rumored to slowly drive the wielder mad. That being said, Harriett is not concerned about it. As she has jokingly told Scott on numerous occasions, "How can it drive me mad when I am crazy already?" Her wand is quite powerful and is capable of a great range of magic, even if it did take Harriett fifteen years to truly bond with the wand. The wand is plain and unadorned. It's beauty lies in the color of the wood, and the way it curves so perfectly at the handle to fit Harriet's hand. This was the eighth wand Harriett tried so many years ago at Ollivander's wand shop in Diagon Alley. The wand emitted a warm, golden light even before Harriett took it in her hand; it was attracted to the woman for her wise, generous spirit, and her warm heart, not to mention her yet-unknown ability concerning Care of Magical Creatures.
Appearance:

Description: Harriett is very good at pulling off prim and proper, as she's seen at Hogwarts, but once she gets away, her true colors are quick to show. She is a true wild child, daring and brave, with just a hint of insanity to top it all off. Not that she is actually insane, in the literal sense, but rather, she is willing to take immense risks on the simple belief that, "It will work out." In all fairness, the motto has served her well over the years. It's how she ended up falling in love with Scott, after all. She is a very pretty woman, with grey-blue eyes the color of the sea during a storm, and long, silky locks of honey-brown. She isn't very large, barely 5'4" and just a tiny wisp of a thing, but she can be terrifying when she's angry. She gets very quiet, her lips purse in displeasure, and she sits or stands very still. One look with her death glare is enough to shut anyone up, especially those who are unprepared from such ferocity from such a gentle, delicate woman. Her voice is always calm, except when she is with Scott and away from her students. Then she may holler with excitement as she charges off the edge of a cliff into crisp blue waters below. Normally, though, she speaks clearly, and just a little softly, so people have to be quiet to hear what she has to say. Her voice is mid-ranged and light, and typically very gentle.
Background: Harriett is one of many children named after Harry Potter in the years after the Second Wizarding War. She passed through Hogwarts unremarkably, or so she thought. After all, she was a Prefect her fifth and sixth years, and Head Girl for her seventh, but what did that count? Upon leaving Hogwarts, she was quickly picked up by the Ministry of Magic to work in the Department for the Regulation and Care of Magical Creatures (the name of the department was changed a few years after the Second Wizarding War, the Ministry not wanting to suffer another incident like the centaur fiasco with Umbridge). While that was all fine and dandy, she found she had much greater interest in the Department of Magical Law Enforcement, especially the Misuse of Muggle Artifacts Office. So when she was contacted by Professor Zosimos seven years ago with an invitation to come teach Muggle Studies, she leaped at the chance and waved goodbye to the Ministry. Needless to say, she was elated when her boyfriend, Scott Worthington-West, was invited to come to Hogwarts to teach Care of Magical Creatures and fill the newly-vacated position of Head of Hufflepuff. She was even more enthused when he told her that he had accepted Professor Zosimos's offer. (Not that she had any real doubt about what his answer would be.) She met Scott nine years ago, when she sat in on an academic presentation of his, after which, the Ministry funded Scott's next adventure, to ascertain the truth of the supposed Crumple-Horned Snorcack sightings, an endeavor of which they requested Harriett join, as their liaison. She was more than happy to oblige.

BARTName: Bartholomaeus Auriel Lysamachus Llewelyn
Gender: Male
Blood: Muggle-Born
Age: 17
» Birthday: February 29
House: Hufflepuff
» Year: 7
» Quidditch: Chaser
» Position: Head Boy
Wand:
» Wood: Cypress
» Core: Streeler Slime and Graphorn Skin
» Length: 15 Inches
» Flexibility: Supple
» Description: Bart most likely had a more difficult time choosing a wand than most others. The Ministry official that took him and his mother to Ollivander's had grown quite impatient after spending three-and-a-half hours in the dingy, claustrophobic shop. Every wand he tried did not suit him in one way or another. After several hours' worth of wand-tantrums, two chipped teeth and a whole lot of singed hair, it was apparent that even Ollivander himself was feeling discouraged. However, plowing on, he presented the dismayed boy with one of the last wands on his shelf, a rather peculiar one crafted of cypress. Immediately, the room seemed to fall silent as a heavenly gold glow shot from the tip of the wand, and bathed the room in a halcyon aura. The boy had found his elusive wand. Rather plain at first sight, its individuality becomes apparent when examined closely. The fifteen-inch, supple body of the wand is stained a handsome chestnut colour, and gleams with a brilliantly gilt light when held in the sun. The cut of the shaft and grip are simple, with mellifluous lines and delicate curlicues etched into the dark, wine-hinted wood. In the very center is a combined core of graphorn skin and streeler slime, a tribute to Bart's inherent talent in all subjects but Herbology.
Appearance:

Description: Bart has been called the Cedric Diggory of his generation, and not without good reason. Handsome, charismatic, clever, loyal, and kind, Bart is basically a reincarnation of the famed, revered Hufflepuff himself. Cedric is also Bart's idol. Determined to go down fighting like his hero, to show the world that Hufflepuffs can be courageous, too, Bart is brave, as well as extremely reckless, to the extent that the Sorting Hat nearly pronounced him a Gryffindor. This sort of dashing carelessness and lack of caution carries over into his looks, as well. Bart is of a tall, lean, athletic stature, the result of years and years of grueling Quidditch training. With his open, welcoming face and relaxed posture, Bart radiates a laid-back aura, one of kindness and auric sunlight. His hair seems to possess a sort of natural messiness. Tousled, bister-coloured locks tumble down his forehead in a torrent of melted chocolate and aeneous sheen. Bart's skin is bronzed and tanned, and emits a robust effulgence, one appearing to be bathed in aureate gold and russet red. Bart's benign eyes only add to his kind, amiable bearing. They are like a doe's--placid, compassionate, and softly gorgeous. They are like spheres of liquid amber and mahogany, in their dazzlingly aurous brilliance. It was these beautiful, lash-peppered eyes that prompted his parents to give him such a romantic middle name--Auriel, which means "golden". And the golden boy he is, indeed. Naïve and modest, Bart is not one for short flings and promiscuity. Instead, his feminine side reveals part of his nature--a romantic. Prone to being almost maudlin, Bart's voice is subdued and quiet, smooth as honey gliding over glass. His two sides--audacious and innocent--keep his being in balance.
Background: Bart was born to a pair of eccentric parents. His father, Banys Llewelyn, was a soft-spoken, wild-haired Welsh man. His brilliance lay in research--specialising in Classical Rome and Hellenistic times. An Oxford University lecturer whose paycheck subsisted on a series of generous grants, his salary was nonetheless a bit meagre once the costs of weekly travel were subtracted out. An adventurous man, his work led him to the far corners of the European world. Gone from home for lengthy periods, Bart has never known him well. It was mostly his mother that supported the family. But, it was a grand contribution, indeed. As a top astrophysical specialist and official with NASA, American-born Greek scientist Dianthe Ioannou garnered huge amounts of money with every NASA project. However, she, too, was usually absent in Bart's life, working late, grueling hours at her job. Bart was mainly raised by his grandmother, Katrina Ioannou, a famed historian and author in her own right. As a believer in mysticism and the gods of Greek mythology, Katrina taught her grandson all about the great deities that once inhabited earth and sky--their tales, histories, and personalities, woven together into a tapestry of story. Bart attended a prestigious private school in London, where Banys' work was based, until his letter to Hogwarts arrived. His name had been down for Eton before the envelope, sealed with red wax, appeared in the mail one magical day. Sadly, his loving grandmother had passed away the year before.

Pet: Chickadee
» Name: Sesame
» Gender: Male
» Age: 8
» Appearance:

» Description: Sesame is a one-of-a-kind black-capped chickadee. Bart's mother having purchased the cantankerous little bird from a private seller to keep Bart busy, the elderly Sesame has entertained Bart and been his sole most trusted confidante, in addition to his grandmother, for years. Sesame is small, even for a chickadee, and his eight years are displayed in stark detail through his irritable manner and thinning feathers. However, the spunky little bird shows many signs that he will probably even be able to live on to thirty or beyond.
Other: Bart has a very mild case of ADHD, and severe kakorrhaphiophobia, the fear of failure.
KASSIDYName: Kassidy Silvia Straut
Gender: Female
Blood: Half-Blood
Age: 17
» Birthday: July 16
House: Ravenclaw
» Year: 7
» Quidditch: Captain; Chaser
» Position: Prefect
Wand:
» Wood: Redwood
» Core: Phoenix Feather
» Length: 12 1/3 Inches
» Flexibility: Slightly Bendy
» Description: Kassidy's wand is a burnished red color—quite similar to that of her hair, in fact—which comes naturally from the redwood wand material. It is of simple design, thin and slightly bendy, a little thicker at the base than the tip. Her wand is an interesting combination of redwood and phoenix feather, as the wandmaker at Ollivander's where she purchased the item remarked. It was the seventeenth wand she tried, and chose Kassidy by releasing a miniature bolt of lightning from the tip, scorching the glass of the counter she stood at. It was attracted to the little red-haired girl for her independence and individuality, evident even at the tender of eleven, and to her ability to land on her feet, capable of turning a catastrophe into a stroke of luck. This particular wand is capable of a great range of magic, though it took Kassidy some time to prove herself able to handle such power. Occasionally the wand will act on its own, but Kassidy doesn't mind; she has her own quirks, after all.
Appearance:

Description: As once said by an awed Housemate, Kassidy is an overachiever striving for perfection and one should beware for she is sarcastic and witty as hell, determined to take no prisoners. She is definitely her own person, no one could argue that, but despite her peculiarities, she has managed to make herself a home at Hogwarts, within her House. She is plenty smart, and holds her own among the smartest minds of Ravenclaw, the reputed House of brainiacs. She's not sure what she wants to do with her life yet, but whether she ends up at the Ministry of Magic or playing Quidditch professionally, she is determined to succeed. Many people, upon glimpsing this ambitious side of Kassidy, ask why the Hat put her in Ravenclaw, as opposed to Slytherin. She's not exactly sure, but she usually just says that she would stick out like a sore thumb in Slytherin. Which isn't exactly untrue. Kassidy is most definitely not a traditionalist, constantly testing the lines around her, and pushing against the boundaries of social convention. She is one who hates wearing skirts or other feminine, frilly clothing. She has a boyish figure, and she frequently buys men's clothing, for the simple fact that it fits her better. She is the wild child of Ravenclaw, with her vibrant red hair—she's naturally a brunette—and her reputation for having dated both girls and boys throughout her time at Hogwarts. In all honesty, she doesn't care what people think, which is one thing that has attracted so many people towards her. She has left her mark on her house, having led Ravenclaw the previous year to win their first House Cup in eighteen years. The grey-eyed girl stands at an impressive 5'9", though she weighs a mere one hundred and thirty-five pounds. As previously stated, she is slender and unfortunately flat-chested, and has more muscle than is obvious at first glance. She likes experimenting with makeup, and can frequently be found wearing any variety of lipsticks and eyeshadows, in some vibrant combination of color.
Background: Henry and Margaret met at the Ministry of Magic, in the Department of Magical Law Enforcement. Despite a six year age difference, the two fell in love and, before too long, ended up with four children: Kassidy, the twins Patrick and Thomas, and Clarisse. Kassidy, being the oldest, felt an obligation to set an example for her younger siblings. As a result, she has, since a young age, striven to do and achieve as much as she possibly could, to prove to her younger siblings that they truly could do anything they dreamed. She joined Ravenclaw's Quidditch team as a Chaser at the beginning of her third year. She wanted to during her second year, but there was no room. The team had not a single seventh year the previous year, and so Kassidy was forced to wait another year on the sidelines. She was sure that year was going to kill her. She excelled at both classwork and Quidditch, and it came as no surprise that she was made a Prefect for her fifth year. Now she is a seventh year, stuck suddenly in a position of choosing her future path, and for once, she has no idea where she's going.

Pet: Owl
» Name: Eckhart
» Gender: Male
» Age: 7
» Appearance:

» Description: Eckhart is a faithful Barn Owl who has been with Kassidy for almost seven years now. It didn't take long for Kassidy to notice his loyalty, and thus named him after a beneficent Teutonic deity who warned people when the Wild Hunt was about to ride out. The faithful Eckhart was said to sit at the base of the mountain warning travelers to return whence they came; he also rode ahead of the Wild Hunt warning people to seek shelter from the coming storm. The Teutons were people who lived in Jutland (a peninsula in northwestern Europe that includes the mainland of Denmark as well as the northern German state of Schleswig-Holstein) in the fourth century B.C. and fought the Romans in France in the second century B.C. Yes, even young Kassidy was too clever for her own good.
Other: Always the practical one, Kassidy chose an owl for school, which she received on her eleventh birthday.
DILLONName: Dillon Anthony Frueuff
Gender: Male
Blood: Pure-Blood
Age: 13
» Birthday: September 8
House: Gryffindor
» Year: 3
» Quidditch: Chaser
» Position: Student
Wand:
» Wood: Apple
» Core: Unicorn Hair and Graphorn Skin
» Length: 11 3/4 Inches
» Flexibility: Swishy
» Description: Dillon didn't quite have the same experience as is sister when finding the perfect wand considering it took him nearly thirty-seven tries. Dillon entered Mr. Ollivander's shop that fateful Sunday grinning ear to ear-he was finally getting his first wand! But no wand was right for him,it seemed, and he was becoming discouraged. By his twentieth try Mr. Ollivander was not feeling too pleased, and neither was Dillon—what if he never found the right match? But, as Mr. Ollivander moved a few boxes—rather dusty ones, at that—a reddish-tinged wand came flying out, and shot right into Dillon's awaiting hand. Letting out a whoop of excitement, Dillon swirled the wand experimentally, and was pleased as a zap of power shot through the thin, tapered tip. The carpet caught fire, but it was all in the name of magic, so Mr. Ollivander didn't mind one bit, and even beamed at Dillon, telling him how beautiful his new wand was.
Appearance:

Description: Dillon is rather tall for his age, standing at five feet and eight inches, and looks older than his thirteen years. His hair is long, flopping in his blue-gray eyes, and is, like Juniper's, a dark blonde. Dillon has a muscular build, but still manages to stay slim, and has a nice tanned look to him. He is also naturally athletic (Woo Quidditch!), and weighs roughly one hundred forty-six pounds, which is mostly muscle. Dillon has a kind, tenor voice that will crack on occasion if he gets too emotional. Along with his large build, Dillon has a rather large personality. Dillon is a courageous young fellow, and is very confident, no matter the situation. Dillon is rather loud as well, and isn't afraid to let you hear his opinion. He is strong-willed, and determined, not to mention strong in both mind and body. But, despite his brave and daring personality, Dillon isn't the brightest. Sure, he does pretty well in his Defense Against the Dark Arts class, but all others... well, let's just say mom doesn't hang his grades on the refrigerator.
Background: Adam and Siobhan Frueuff were both top wizards in their Houses, and fell in love while attending Hogwarts. It wasn't a surprise when the two married a year after graduating, and explored the world together. After they settled down, nine years later, the two had Juniper, and then Dillon. While both youngsters were exceptionally skilled, Dillon preferred to spend his time with his father playing Quidditch. His mother, of course, did not approve, but his father eventually won out in that argument. Dillon, even though he was more sport inclined that his sister, often looked up to her. He admired her strength and will, and made sure that he followed her footsteps, in some things. Dillon was upset when his sister went off to Hogwarts, but at the same time, was excited. With Juniper at Hogwarts, he could only count down the weeks until it was his turn. When the fateful day arrived, he could barely control himself—not even throughout the school year. But, it went great, like his second year, and Dillon loved the surprises that Hogwarts offered. Each new year never fails to surprise him, and Dillon knows his third will be just as great as the last two.

Pet: Owl
» Name: Echo
» Gender: Male
» Age: 7
» Appearance:

» Description: Echo—a small, compact Screech Owl—got his name due to his loud, echoing call. Echo is a fiery tempered owl, but is also loyal and protecting. He can be mean at times, if you keep him locked up too long, but Echo is usually a kind, compassionate friend. Echo is only eight inches tall with a wingspan of twenty inches. Echo weighs roughly six-point-three ounces, and can be found resting upon Dillon's shoulder when in a particularly loving mood.
Other: Dillon loves all types of tea, and has to have at least a cup a day.
KATYAName: Katarina Petra Adaryn Ivanova
Gender: Female
Blood: Pure-Blood
Age: 40
» Birthday: March 25
Position: Head of Gryffindor; Potions Professor
House: Gryffindor
Wand:
» Wood: Aspen
» Core: Sphinx Whisker
» Length: 13 Inches
» Flexibility: Quite Rigid
» Description: Katya's wand took to her quite quickly. As a gangly, awkward-looking eleven-year-old standing in Ollivander's shop, she knew, once the smooth aspen baton rested in her hand, that it was the one for her. The design is deceptively simple, with a clean, slender, enamel-like shaft. However, the thirteen inches of well-polished wood have a lustrous, almost unearthly glow about them. It is luminous, like the soft, mother-of-pearl sheen seen in Roman glass. The well-proportioned body holds the power of three sphinx whiskers in its centre. Quite rigid, and sternly carved, it retains an atmosphere of severity and non-conformity about it, a spirit of individualism.
Appearance:

Description: As a result of her mixed Nordic, Slavic, and Celtic heritage, Katya's looks border on exotic. Her whole body is extremely angular, which lends a particular severity to her appearance. Her face is entrancing in a foreign way, with its alabastrine hue and marmoreal smoothness. Her cheekbones are cut rather like narrow, sharply-cut slivers of glass. Her jaw mirrors her willful-looking countenance. It is oblique and comes to a definitite, austere point. However, it is Katya's eyes that are the most startling. They are narrow and long, and slant at an almost Oriental angle, and are studded around the edges with stiff fringes of inky black. Her irises are coloured a striking shade of verdigris green, tinted with faint tinges of viridian and gold. Her hair is a thick mane of titian red and incarnadine scarlet that envelops her face and falls in a cataract of fire to her shoulders. It emanates a sort of aurelian ambience that bestows upon Katya's face a fierce Celtic lambency. Her cheeks are delicately brushed with a faint claret hue, and intensify the piercing feeling that one feels when they gaze into her eyes. She presents a halcyon demeanor, but, in reality, her temper and sternness are legendary. She is quick to anger and will even deduct points from her own House readily if they display even the smallest bit of disobedience or rudeness to authority. Her voice is heavy with both Cockney and Russian accents, making for an interesting melodic sound when she talks. It is clipped and intolerant, lacking all but the most imperceptible trace of what might once have been a sense of humour. In accordance with her forbidding personality, Katya has a tall, gaunt figure. Towering over most wizards, even, at 6'3", Katya is thin and harsh-looking, with willowy arms, a fairly flat chest, lanky legs, a swan-like neck, and bony, spidery hands, the only part of her appearance that betrays her actual age.
Background: Many students have disliked Katya as a teacher because of her snappish voice and quick temper. However, she has many secrets lurking in her past, mostly those of family troubles. Katarina Ivanova was born to two pure-blood, Slytherin-raised bigots named Alastriona Alvarsson and Ivan Konstantinov. Both being from noble, austerely-bred pure-blood families, their union was arranged by their two families, an archaic custom still continued by the snootiest of blood purists. Within a year of their marriage, a child was born. And a beautiful infant she was. Katarina, as she was named, had pale, almost-translucent skin, large green eyes, and a tuft of fiery hair. Her parents, delighted at the birth of their lovely daughter, doted on her and spoiled her. That is, until her "betrayal". Katarina, as a bubbly, happy eleven-year-old, received her letter from Hogwarts three weeks before the beginning of the school year. Naturally, her parents, overjoyed at the confirmation of their daughter's magical talents, purchased everything necessary for her and more. They sent her off on the scarlet Hogwarts Express with hugs and kisses. Her first few years at Hogwarts were joyous ones. However, the trouble began in her third year. Having selected Muggle Studies as an elective class, Katya hungrily devoured all the fascinating course material on Muggles and their habits in a matter of several days. Writing home to her parents about the joy of Muggle Studies, in addition to her other classes, she detailed all the wonderful things about Muggles. Her parents were dismayed, and their reply was venomous and cautionary. Their message was lucid--if you mingle with the wrong sort, the result will not be pretty. Katya, dismissing her parents' threats as single-minded prejudice, made many Muggle-born friends at school, and returned home with a mind full of ideas about bigotry and oppression. Ivan, feeling that their family's honour was "imperiled", sat down with his daughter for a "little talk". He left incensed. Over her years at Hogwarts, Katya accumulated heaps of honours and awards, being made Gryffindor prefect, Quidditch Captain, and Head Girl in rapid succession. Once she turned seventeen, she had gathered the nerve to tell her parents, who had grown colder and colder over the years, that she had accepted a job offer with the Salem Witches' Academy in America. This was the last straw. Her parents, infuriated with her "ungrateful, wretched behaviour", cast her out of the house once she graduated, and burnt her name off the family tree tapestry that hung above the mantel. Disillusioned with the world, Katya journeyed to America, and stayed there for ten years, eventually being tenured as both Arithmancy and Potions professors in addition to the promised Muggle Studies post. When she returned to Europe at the age of twenty-eight, Katya was immediately hired by Beauxbatons Academy of Magic in Cannes, France. She remained in France for two years, and left at thirty, disliking the climate. Yearning to return to her native England, and craving to see her family, she travelled back to Wiltshire to see her family. She hoped that twelve years would have softened the loathing and disgust. She was wrong. Her parents slammed the door in her face, and her sisters turned their noses up at her. Luckily for her, yet another job offer came for her, this time from her alma mater, Hogwarts. Headmaster Zosimos, who had heard of Katya's pitiful plight and extensive experience, had offered to pay her a large salary of a thousand Galleons a year to teach Potions. Gladly accepting the post, Katya proceeded to teach Potions at Hogwarts. However, she was now a wholly different person from the giggly, coquettish teenager she'd been when she had left Hogwarts. Now, as a quiet, mature adult, hardened and embittered by the feud with her family, who had treated her like filth, she taught with unparalleled austerity and a complete lack of humour. She has been made Head of Gryffindor House this year, as a result of the death of the previous Head, an elderly man.

Pet: Cat
» Name: Sasha
» Gender: Female
» Age: 5
» Appearance:

» Description: Sasha is a spoiled little brat of a Scottish Fold cat. Pampered and coddled by her adoring master, she knows that she is adorable and uses it to her advantage. With one melting look from her intelligent, yet helpless-looking eyes, Sasha is capable of charming even the stoniest heart. Her body is covered in a mass of snow-white fur, which accentuates her large, saucer-like eyes, which glint like obsidian shards in the light. However, she has a sense of the utmost loyalty towards her mistress, and will do anything for her. That is, so long as it includes a reward of some sort. She is, in most senses, a cruel, selfish little kitty who exploits humans for her own ends. The Kneazle in her is particularly prevalent in these respects.
Other: Katya is both a superb Occlumens and a powerful Legilimens.
CALUMName: Calum Hallinan
Gender: Male
Blood: Half-Blood
Age: 16
» Birthday: March 20
House: Ravenclaw
» Year: 6
» Quidditch: N/A
» Position: Student
Wand:
» Wood: Black Walnut
» Core: Graphorn Skin
» Length: 8 1/2 Inches
» Flexibility: Pliable
» Description: Calum's wand was the first wand he'd ever tried, and it makes perfect sense to as why. Black Walnut wands tend to choose self-assured owners, and even as an eleven year old, Calum was always very confident in who he was. The Graphorn Skin was more of a surprise, since it is attuned to dueling and defensive spells, and Calum was never much of a fighter when he was younger. Now that he is older, though, it is more apparent to why his wand has a Graphorn Skin core--his frank personality frequently offends others, so he is defending himself quite often from angry classmates. His wand is long, thin, and fairly simple in design, with little adornments. The handle has a little notch in the wood, which Calum will pick at if he's ever nervous.
Appearance:

Description: If one had to define Calum, the first word that would come to mind would be blunt. Calum is definitely not afraid of the truth. He actually reveres honesty, and due to his love of truth, he has a profound curiosity of spells or curses involving the subject. He's very aloof and logical, with a dry sense of humor. He tends to drop people who bore him, so he never really has a sure set of friends. Once you put his blunt personality and dry humor aside, Calum is a very loyal friend. He's very good at keeping secrets and will defend those he likes to the death. When it comes to romantic relationships, Calum is not one to stick around for long. It's quite easy for him to get girls, based off his looks alone. He's tall and lanky, his height teetering upon six feet. Calum's eyes are soft bluish gray, contrasting greatly against his warm skin. His hair, a windswept dirty blonde shade, is meticulously cared for. Calum is a bit obsessive when it comes to cleaning things. He hates it when people leaving things lying around, and if he gets irritated enough, he'll start picking up their stuff for them.
Background: Calum had a highly uneventful childhood. His parents wanted him to be independent at a young age, so they let him do a lot for himself. He never really minded this, since it gave him plenty time to read, or watch TV, or anything he really felt like doing, as long as it wasn't dangerous. Up until he received his letter to Hogwarts, he was completely in the dark about his wizarding heritage. His father had decided to keep it on the down low, because he wanted his son to start school was a blank slate. He was most certainly irritated at his father for hiding this from him for so long, and he still holds it against him a little.
Relations:
» Ralph Michael Hallinan - Father; 56; Wine Salesman; Former Ravenclaw
» Aisling Catherine McCole-Hallinan - Mother; 49; Accountant; Muggle
Pet: Owl
» Name: Adelaide
» Gender: Female
» Age: 4
» Appearance:

» Description: Adelaide is a very vain, sweet bird, and most are shocked when they find out she belongs to Calum. Most think he would have a mean sort of creature, but Addie is very cute and friendly. She is highly affectionate and adores attention. When delivering Calum's mail, she tends to make grand entrances, swooping in and heralding a chorus of "Oh, look at that cute owl! Whose bird is she?" Calum cares for little Addie a lot, especially since she was given to him by his mother, who normally isn't the most affectionate women in the world.
Other: One of Calum's favorite activities is to watch detective TV shows and guess who the killer is. His favorite show to use for this is Midsomer Murders, since so many people die per episode.
JUNIPERName: Juniper Celeste Frueuff
Gender: Female
Blood: Pure-Blood
Age: 15
» Birthday: October 13
House: Gryffindor
» Year: 5
» Quidditch: N/A
» Position: Student
Wand:
» Wood: Willow
» Core: Winged Horse Feather and Re'em Blood
» Length: 12 Inches
» Flexibility: Rather Bendy
» Description: Juniper's wand was immediately attracted to her—the wand practically jumped from Mr. Ollivander's hand and right into Juniper's. She was shocked, to say the least. But knew that she and the wand were meant to be as a bolt of light shot through the slim wand, only narrowly missing Mr. Ollivander's head. Juniper admires her wand as much it does her. She loves the svelte, gray-brown color wand, and the power it possess. The wand was attracted to Juniper due to her potential, and the desire to do great that burned within her. In a way, the wand became a sort of mentor for the fiery-willed, passionate girl. And so, eleven year old Juniper found the perfect wand.
Appearance:

Description: Juniper's personality is rather unbalanced—she can be sweet and shy one day, but then wild and unrelenting the next. But one thing to be counted on is her fierce independence and determination. Juniper refuses to back down from a challenge, which stems somewhat from her insecurities, as she doesn't want anyone to see them. Really, Juniper only has one insecurity: herself. Juniper is insecure in her ability to perform, yet she almost always manages to succeed in life, usually with flying colors. Juniper looks nothing like she acts. She is a petite little thing, standing at barely five feet (though that's with her boots on), and weighing only ninety-seven pounds. Juniper is also rather curve-less and flat-chested, but sees this as somewhat of an advantage because being small allows her to be fast. Juniper has a sweet, almost melodic voice, but she cannot give a speech to save her life as she tends to trip over her words in front of a crowd. Juniper has natural dirty blonde hair and peculiar green-blue eyes. Her eyes are also inquisitive, and bright, as if always waiting to learn. Her skin is smooth, pale ivory, unmarked save for a few minor scars that occurred with an unfortunate broom accident with her brother.
Background: Adam and Siobhan Frueuff were both top wizards of their house, and fell in love while attending Hogwarts. It wasn't a surprise when the two married a year after graduating, and explored the world together. After they settled down, nine years later, the two had Juniper, and then Dillon. At a young age, the witch and wizard blossomed nicely, each excelling at anything their father through at them. But they couldn't teach them too much—that's what Hogwarts was for. Being the eldest, Juniper felt a sort of obligation to take care of Dillon, and show him that anything can be achieved when one has the right mind. Before she knew it, Juniper was up and off, shopping for Hogwarts's supplies, and then soon boarding the train. Her first year at Hogwarts was pleasant, and full of surprises. In fact, all of her years at Hogwarts have been amazing, and she knows her fifth year will be just as spectacular.
Relations:
» Adam Sylvester Frueuff - Father; 42; Pure-Blood; Broom-Maker; Former Hufflepuff
» Siobhan Luna Frueuff - Mother; 42; Pure-Blood; Mediwitch; Former Ravenclaw
» Dillon Anthony Frueuff - Brother; 13; Pure-Blood; Gryffindor
Pet: Owl
» Name: Athena
» Gender: Female
» Age: 6
» Appearance:

» Description: Athena is a majestic Barred Owl who got her name from the Greek goddess of intelligence, skill, warfare, battle strategy, handicrafts, and wisdom. Athena stands at twenty-three inches in height with a wingspan of forty-three inches. She weighs one-point-seven pounds, and Juniper never tires from carrying her around. Athena is a loyal companion, and often enjoys resting on Juniper's arm or shoulder as much as she loves soaring through the skies. The striking owl is also brave, and rarely gets her feathers ruffled.
Other: Forever changing her mind, Juniper has never been able to hold on to a favorite color, food, or drink.
SCOTTName: Wainscott Abracar Worthington-West
Gender: Male
Blood: Muggle-Born
Age: 41
» Birthday: April 1
Position: Head of Hufflepuff; Care of Magical Creatures Professor
House: Hufflepuff
Wand:
» Wood: Apple
» Core: Winged Horse Feather and Crup Tail Hair
» Length: 11 Inches
» Flexibility: Stiff
» Description: Dual-core wands tend to be temperamental, but if properly harnessed in perfect tandem, can make for a truly remarkable wand, and an ideal companion for a remarkable witch or wizard. Never one to eschew advancement and experimentation in wandmaking, Garrick Ollivander's silver eyes glittered in anticipation as the tousled haired boy placed an unerring hand upon the handle, causing a vague hint of what was unmistakably apple pie to suffuse the dusty air. "Ahh yes... Mister Worthington, you are indeed worthy of the apple's gifts." Scott would later come to find that the expertly crafted wand would complement his love for the outdoors, and his fascination with the weird and wonderful of the magizoological and magibotanical worlds he would come to explore so assiduously. Fulfilling his childhood desire to travel, the apple wand accompanied him in his forays in search of the legendary Hidden Valley, home of the largest demiguise community in the world, among other less than lucrative locations, proving itself time and again.
Appearance:
Description: Scott has always been a rugged, rangy boy with an overabundance of wanderlust and a healthy thirst for exploration; mud, scrapes, and a carefully procured species of bug, beast or bloom were usually the three things one would observe upon the person of the only son of noted wildlife preservationist Garrett Pickford Worthington-West and environmental science lecturer Isabel Leigh Platt. A source of equal amusement and distress, Scott's devil-may-care abandon contrasted with his canny competence, combining to produce a wavy-haired, black eyed wanderer with a penchant for climbing and swimming. Unabashedly social, his youth was interspersed by periods of intense isolation and introspection as he pondered what exactly was the matter with him, and the source and nature of the bizarre occurrences that cropped up around him. Proactive, amiable and always prone to laugh, people said he would have a bright future before him; nobody knew how bright, except perhaps Professor Longbottom. School and study did not dampen his youthful vigour, but only honed it, and gave it a direction and, in some ways a calling. Boundless enthusiasm and a wide eyed fascination saw him excel both academically and socially, and when he left Hogwarts the most gifted young magizoologist of his generation, it was to follow in the footsteps of his hero, Newt Scamander before returning, brimming with a desire to impart what he had learned during his years abroad, taking up the offered post of Care of Magical Creatures teacher, his aim, to infect his students with his own undiminished love for the magical nature of nature.
Background: Immersing himself in the wonders of the world he had always had a feeling existed, but had never had the chance to perceive, Scott Worthington, as he preferred to call himself, could not help but be utterly staggered by the fact that his perception of reality had been so blinkered by the Muggle perception of what was. Totally oblivious to his magical heritage, it came as something of a shock to Garrett, when a certain letter was delivered to the manor addressed to none other than his son, who was, naturally, nowhere to be found. Broad-minded about his children's future however, he eventually explained what it all meant to his stunned wife. Ironically, while they wrestled with the ramifications of having a magically-inclined member of the family, Scott's mind had officially been blown; from his first trip to Diagon alley to the charms of the train ride from yesteryear, to the ceaseless revelations of his first year. The only student in his year to earn full marks for all his Care of Magical Creatures exams during his third year, his success only confirmed what he always knew, that he had an undeniable affiliation with animals, both magical and mundane. (His cat Felice defected to his sister's care after he went abroad, but retains a mewing fondness for her young master.) Committing himself to travelling the world after his "emancipation" from years of studying about the hidden magical world, Scott devoted his "gap years" as he called them, to squirreling out the hidden treasures that are magizoology's greatest and best kept secrets. Not much is known of the ten years he spent abroad after graduating, but his academic impact left Hufflepuff with a significantly celebrated recent alumnus, and something of an inspiration for his embodiment of the badgers unceasing work ethic. Returning from his sojourn abroad, Scott set about transferring his experiences to the printed page, producing a set of memoirs entitled There and How to Get Back Again? published by Obscurus Books, before devising and presenting his findings concerning the behaviour of the elusive demiguise before the International Magizoological Institute. It was during this period that he met, and eventually fell in love with a woman who shared his passions, embarking on a speculative venture together to ascertain the truth of alleged Crumple-Horned Snorcack sightings. Comitting himself to writing, and about to embark upon a revised edition of Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them he received an altogether unexpected offer of employment from Professor Zosimos, who admitted in his letter to have been following Scott's career with considerable interest. Granted the dream opportunity to return to Hogwarts, Scott eagerly accepted, seeking to teach as an outlet for his writing and vice versa.

Pet: Granian
» Name: Whisper
» Gender: Female
» Age: 25
» Appearance:
» Description: Stumbling upon the poor, shivering fledgling during one of his many forays out into the fjordlands of northern Scandinavia, Scott and his expedition had been scattered by a sudden attack from an irate Swedish short-snout, who it was later discovered, had recently raided a Granian eyrie, making off with several fledglings for its own young. Overlooked due to her diminutive size, the little female had cowered, terrified while the dragon made off with her yearmates as the male harassed the adults, exposing the collection of nests. Nursing the little dappled creature back to health, Scott took it upon himself to tend to her, eventually developing a close bond with the shy grey Nordic pegasus. Her presence in his life came as something of a natural union, as in spite of his magical proficiency in other areas, Scott detested apparition, and had previously taken to travelling "the Muggle way", which he did not mind in the least, aside from the inevitable technological malfunctions and the tedious time it took. An avid rider, he began to train Whisper, their mutual trust and affection making for a swift transition. A gentle but skittish creature, Whisper is devoted to her master, and in Harriett's absence, Scott often takes to confiding in her, deriving security from her gentle, reassuring presence. Mindful of the Statute of Secrecy, the application of a disillusionment charm is a must whenever travel is required, and the procurement of a licence for the possession of exotic pets adds to his clear display of responsible ownership. To Muggles, she is a dappled grey horse, when on land, and a stark nothingness when flying. The addition of an invisibility cloak that renders him unseen at the clasp of its fastenings, both master and mare pass over would be observers like a rogue gust.
Other: Scott's unapologetic fascination for Quidditch and his fervent support of the Wimbourne Wasps has seen him relocate to the Dorset town in a dual attempt to integrate himself into the fabric of wizarding society and, naturally, in order to join his fellow stingers as they support their team in pursuit of their nineteenth league title. A chaser during his playing days, Scott sees it as his duty to "resuscitate the broom badgers", organising and overseeing Hufflepuff Quidditch efforts personally.
ROBINName: Robin Sparrow Dove
Gender: Female
Blood: Half-Blood
Age: 15
» Birthday: March 5
House: Ravenclaw
» Year: 5
» Quidditch: N/A
» Position: Student
Wand:
» Wood: Ebony
» Core: Veela Hair
» Length: 11 1/2 Inches
» Flexibility: Reasonably Springy
» Description: Robin’s wand of ebony and Veela hair was one that Ollivander admitted to her he never thought he would sell, for the powers of the wood and the core seemed to contradict each other. Ebony generally indicates courage and combative magic, whereas the Veela hair hinted towards an owner less bold, fond of more common magic, like Charms and Divination. It seemed they balanced perfectly for her, however, with a calm, orderly personality, strong willpower, and firm beliefs. Robin has kept the wand for four years, since she bought it at age eleven, and she doesn’t think any of it has lost its shine: not the coils of gold and silver wrapped around the handle for four inches nor the polished ebony that had provided so much good luck to her at Hogwarts.
Appearance:

Description: Robin looks sophisticated beyond her years, straight posture and sensible clothing expressing her value of organization. Even though her slender frame looks a bit fragile, she stands slightly taller than the average girl of her year, with a height of 5’8. This, along with her strong opinions, firm tone of voice, and use of evidence usually gives Robin the upper hand on arguments. She tends to raise her eyebrows often at other people, but her small smiles aren’t too hard to come by once she’s warmed up, and she actually loves to laugh.
Background: Robin grew up in a pleasant household with two loving parents. Her muggle father was very interested in the world of magic, having been told small things about it by her mother, a witch, and he was supportive of his wife’s wishes to send Robin to Hogwarts once she turned eleven. Both of her parents always pushed her to do her best and be herself, and she has certainly taken these two messages to heart. Being an only child only put more pressure on Robin to bring pride to her family and to fulfill her dreams.
Relations:
» Harold Dove - Father; 46; Muggle Accountant
» Deirdre Dove - Mother; 50; Acountant in the Muggle World; Former Ravenclaw
Pet: Owl
» Name: Mouse
» Gender: Male
» Age: 6
» Appearance:

» Description: Mouse, titled thus simply for irony, is a rather handsome black and white owl, with a wingspan slightly longer than average. He is a very obedient and cooperative creature, much like Robin, and is extremely loyal to his owner. It’s very convenient for her that he loves to fly, as well, as Robin writes to her family often.
Other: Robin is flattered very easily (Though she doesn’t blush more than a pale pink, thank goodness!), and she was named after different species of birds because her parents met when bird-watching.
CHAR Name: Charlotte Annabelle Parker
Gender: Female
Blood: Pure-Blood
Age: 14
» Birthday: August 21
House: Ravenclaw
» Year: 4
» Quidditch: N/A
» Position: Student
Wand:
» Wood: Maple
» Core: Ashwinder Eggs
» Length: 13 Inches
» Flexibility: Stiff
» Description: Charlotte's wand is a dark, reddish color. It is relatively plain and has grooves marking the handhold. This wand chose Charlotte because of her natural skill for Potions, and her tendency to aim high and use her ambition for learning. Upon taking hold of this wand, Charlotte was greeted with a vibrating sensation and purplish smoke emitting from the tip of the wand.
Description: Charlotte is five feet and eight inches tall. She normally wears her long, wavy, dark brown hair clipped or braided in the front, or let down. Charlotte's smile is radiant and beaming whenever she is especially happy, and she has a slight dimple on her left cheek. Every once in a while she lets a little mischief slide into her smile, and she'll go out and do something dangerous or against the rules so she can diagram plants and "borrow" their parts for new potions she is learning about. Charlotte's pale blue eyes sparkle when she's in a good mood, and dim when she's unhappy or angry. Around her friends she talks too fast in excitement, and becomes so caught up in her own thoughts that she bumps into walls and people. When not around friends though, she tends to ignore looks, comments, and smiles, mostly because she gets nervous around people she doesn't know. Because of this she might seem shallow and antisocial, but she tries to get over it and let people in. She has always been fascinated by plants and potions. This fascination does backfire occasionally.
Background: Charlotte grew up with her family in a small wizarding village. She was raised going to magic shows, Quidditch matches, and eating Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Beans. She and her brother and sister would stay out in the garden late into the night, acting out fierce duels and battles with dragons and such. They had their hard times, but for the most part she got along quite well with her siblings. Being the youngest in her family, she half went into depression when she was left home for two years while her older brother and sister went to Hogwarts. Eager to start Hogwarts, Charlotte spent many hours when she was younger planning things she wanted to learn when she finally got to go to school. One of these things was the Polyjuice Potion. It was in her second year when she tried to brew it. She hadn't even started when she was caught in the act of stealing potion ingredients. Charlotte was given four weeks of detention as punishment, and one warning. Charlotte has remembered the warning. Though she has tried not to cross the line, she comes very close to it occasionally. One night in her second year she sneaked out late to take notes on the behavior of the Whomping Willow. A teacher on a moonlight walk discovered her trying to poke her way through the madly waving branches and examine the trunk, and was reprimanded quite sternly for her dangerous expedition. As she matured, Charlotte became more capable of dangerous doings without getting hurt, though she also grew to recognize the border between unnecessarily dangerous, and acceptably dangerous. Her ambition to achieve things was almost enough to get her into Slytherin, but in the end she felt that Ravenclaw would be a better outlet for her intellect, and so she was sorted.
Relations:
» Fred Parker - Father; 42; Apothecary; Former Ravenclaw
» Katherine Nott - Mother; 38; Housewife; Former Slytherin
» Lizzy Parker - Older Sister; 16; Student; Slytherin
» Ryan Parker - Older Brother; 16; Student; Ravenclaw
Pet: Cat
» Name: Felix
» Gender: Male
» Age: 1 1/2
» Description: Felix is a striped, orange-gold cat. He's a little pudgy and has a sweet yet slightly grumpy face and green-gray eyes. Felix loves curling up on the backs of couches, not so people will pet him, but so he can have a good view of the room and search for unsuspecting rodents. Charlotte will sometimes put a bow on his collar, but once he got caught on a branch while trying to tear it off.
Other: Lizzy and Ryan are twins. Charlotte prefers to be called “Char” (pronounced shar), but can stand to be addressed by her full name.
LINDAName: Linda Violette
Gender: Female
Blood: Half-Blood
Age: 41
» Birthday: January 14
Position: Librarian
House: Hufflepuff
Wand:
» Wood: Black Walnut
» Core: Jobberknoll Down
» Length: 11 3/4 Inches
» Flexibility: Supple
» Description: When Linda first picked up her wand, nothing significant happened. However, as she was about to return it to its box it spewed out green sparks, signally its choice. Delighted to have been chosen by her first pick of a wand, she became instantly in love with its mostly gray-brown color, and the light tan stripe up the side. Linda is sweet, intelligent, and sincere, so it makes sense that this wand, with its Black Walnut wood, which is known for pairing well with honest and powerful individuals, chose Linda.
Description: Linda has short, golden blond hair and light, yet deep, blue eyes. When reading, she wears small glasses perched on the bridge of her nose, which she can hang from her neck on a purple, sparkly, beaded chain. Her hands are long-fingered and quick, adapted to flipping through musty books. Normally tucked behind her ear or pinned with bobby pins, her wavy hair flares out in the back. Her infectious smile creates crinkles around her eyes, making her appear very loving and welcoming. Linda is a warm-hearted person. She has always been slow and contemplative. Her voice is soft and melodic. When a student is not excelling in school work, she digs deep to figure out the problem and help to fix it. She is very devoted to her station as librarian, and spends as long as it takes shelving books and tracking down lost ones with an enthusiasm that invigorates anyone near.
Background: Linda attended Hogwarts (many) years ago, and has been at her current occupation for seven years, since just before her daughter started Hogwarts. After she left Hogwarts, Linda got a job as an assistant in a tiny bookshop in a nondescript town, but this became tiresome and lonely, so she moved to Godric's Hollow and ran a restaurant there for a year until she met her husband Benjamin. They got married, and two years later Linda had her daughter Jenny. She tried to set an example of reading for her daughter, and often would read to her for hours on end about stories and fables, ancient wizarding legends, and the most interesting facts of charm casting. As Jenny matured, she didn't show much interest in reading or attaining written knowledge, but took after her father and spent most of her time digging in the yard and exploring birds nests. Two years later Linda had another girl, and eleven years later she was sorted into Hufflepuff. Just before Jenny came to Hogwarts, Linda applied for the post of Librarian at Hogwarts. Linda hardly remembers her interview at all, as it was so short, and barely recalls being shaken by the hand and given a certificate, then told to start her post in September. She was overjoyed when Katie came to Hogwarts.

» Katie Violette - Daughter; 15; Hufflepuff
Pet: Owl
» Name: Busara
» Gender: Male
» Age: 8
» Description: Busara is a Spotted Owl. His name means foresight. Busara is very particular and makes sure that his gray/brown toned feathers with white spots are always clean and neat. As much as Linda enjoys reading, Busara is not one for inside cozy places, and spends most of him down time perched on the sill of the window of Linda's room.
Other: Linda has an undying love for the smell of orange peels.
LEIGHName: Laetitia Isolde Jacintha Rosenthal
Gender: Female
Blood: Pure-Blood
Age: 16
» Birthday: December 14
House: Slytherin
» Year: 6
» Quidditch: Chaser
» Position: Student
Wand:
» Wood: Ebony
» Core: Basilisk Skin
» Length: 15 Inches
» Flexibility: Unyielding
» Description: Laetitia's wand, like its mistress, is of a striking, theatrical appearance. Crafted of pearlescent ebony wood, it is possessed of a comfortable heftiness and is smooth to the touch. Running one's finger over the shaft, it is possible to perceive minute indentations in the wood, worn-away relics of skillfully carved curlicues. At the center lies a snippet of basilisk skin, a core gleaned from her late grandfather's wand. Incidentally, he had been a Death Eater, one of Voldemort's inner circle. The fifteen-inch long body of the instrument is impeccably and lovingly crafted, for, when it comes to the Rosenthals, only the best will do. Unyielding when bent, it serves a double purpose as both a weapon and an object for show. Roughly halfway from either end, the wand is spliced apart by a large, glassy orb-like jewel, a ludicrously large amber-coloured topaz stone, which heralds Leigh's over-the-top personality.
Appearance:

Description: Leigh is quite beautiful, but not in the way that most would consider beautiful. Instead of the commonplace sunny-beach-tanned sort of pretty, Leigh's beauty is like a rare bloom's: delicate and uncommon, as well as slightly odd. Hers is an art nouveau sort of prettiness, an avant-garde, edgy beauty. Her hair is geometric and meticulously cut, appearing almost perfectly symmetric from a distance. It is a natural shade of sable-black, unforgiving and devoid of any other colour. It is simply jet. Each individual strand is as pin-straight and conscientiously-tended-to as if it were actually a work of art. Futuristic and clean, these two characteristics hold true for Leigh's entire appearance. Her face is a waxen, drained white, as if all the blood had been sapped out of it. Indeed, her few friends often joke that if they did not know better, they would think that she were a vampire who had never seen the light of day. Her cheekbones echo the iconic angles of modern art, and they are just as trenchant and just as harsh as the jagged edges of abstract sculptures. Her jaw is square, and heavy. It, too, is sharp and uniformly straight, as if both sides of it had been laid out on some sort of computer technology. However, like the ephemeral flower that blooms but once a year, Leigh's features are full and large and showy. Sporting a pair of full, crimson, glossy lips, Leigh has the ability to charm most males with one pout. This line of clone-like rigidity extends to her eyes. Almost perfectly alike, more than most peoples', they are wide and orb-like and deeply contemplative. Their soulful, cornflower blue is of a strangely diluted quality. However, one can never shake the feeling that she is staring right through you, odd, pale eyes boring a hole through your head. Her figure is quite artistic, too. With bony, broad shoulders, narrow, angular hips, long, lean legs, a punched-in waist, and an ample chest, Leigh's frame completes the look of refinement and sculptural pleasantry about her. Her voice, however, contrary to her appearance, is extremely low. Although mellifluous and feline, it is almost like a man's in its virility and honey-deep articulation. Leigh is, in the best sense, unpredictable. Although extremely clever and cunning, she is melodramatic to the point of theatricality. Her booming, intimidating voice can be curt enough to cut through diamonds, or warm and gentle enough to melt Arctic ice. Sometimes, she is kind and quiet. At others, she is tart and biting, brusque enough to emotionally wound one. She regards herself as a work of art, and possesses great hubris.
Background: Leigh, as a pure-blood, claims descent from two powerful wizarding clans. Her father is of the Rosenthals of Germany, a wealthy family of blood purists who are noted for their close relation to Gellert Grindelwald, the first Dark Lord. Her mother's side, on the other hand, also has close ties to Dark magic. A member of a family named Carmichael, of London, her family has been rumoured to be second cousins of the notorious Black family. As a result, Laetitia grew up in an old-moneyed, highly bigoted environment. Her father, a former captain of the Wimbourne Wasps and a rich Ministry insider, and mother planted the first seeds of what later sprouted into a serious superiority complex in her mind. They taught her that pure-bloods were the natural and unquestioned nobility of the Wizarding world and that their family was and was not to be tainted with Muggle blood in any way. As a result of such an upbringing, Leigh still retains huge vestiges of prejudice in her mind. Her family, although still immensely wealthy, had been discredited in name when Gellert Grindelwald seized power and began his bloody purge. His links to a family that was later revealed to be the Rosenthals was divulged in a later tome on his life, and much of their wealth confiscated. Embittered and swearing revenge, they had supported Voldemort during his first reign of terror. As a result, they secured many positions in the Ministry of Magic that continued even after Voldemort's downfall. Managing to wriggle out of the numerous accusations against them, the Rosenthals had retreated into a shadowy mansion in the very north of Scotland, plotting their vengeance. This was the sort of household Leigh grew up in: sombre, affluent, vengeful, and cold. As a child, Leigh was constantly lonely. The truth was that her mother and father, who put on clearly artificial airs of love and affection when in Leigh's vicinity, could not have been more displeased with their offspring. Like many other blood purist families, they had been distraught when their third and final child had been revealed to be yet another daughter. Laetitia's childhood was forlorn because of this. Once the letter to Hogwarts had arrived, Leigh embraced it as a way out of her large, gloomy house. Every summer, when she has had to return to the Rosenthal family compound, she has dreaded it, knowing that it means another two months of isolation, darkness, and silence.
Relations:

» Adalheidis Chryseis Jessamine Carmichael - Mother; 44; Editor of the Daily Prophet; Former Slytherin
» Eliana Parthenope Rosenthal - Sister; 24; Unspeakable; Former Gryffindor
» Isobel Narcissa Rosenthal - Sister; 20; Gringotts Curse-Breaker; Former Ravenclaw
Pet: Knarl
» Name: Ereth
» Gender: Male
» Age: 2
» Appearance:

» Description: As a child, Leigh had cherished a book called "Poppy". It was an American Muggle tale for small children, a treatise on courage and overcoming the odds. Her mother had procured a copy from a passing peddler, who had found it lying on the road in London. She had loved it with her entire being. So, when her mother purchased a prickly, but adorable, knarl for her fourteenth birthday, Leigh had instantly christened it "Ereth", after the cantankerous, lovable porcupine that served as the fictional Poppy's confidante and friend. Although the knarl Ereth is of a sweet, loving disposition, quite unusual for a knarl and his companionship is a blissful reminder of her childhood.
Other: Leigh has ambitions to become an Auror when she leaves Hogwarts. She loathes the Dark Arts, although, ironically, she is supposed to have an inclination for them due to her wand core.
RICKName: Warwick Merlinien Stanton-Hayes
Gender: Male
Blood: Pure-Blood
Age: 33
» Birthday: November 21
Position: Flying Instructor/Quidditch Referee
House: Gryffindor
Wand:
» Wood: Sycamore
» Core: Re'em Blood
» Length: 11 Inches
» Flexibility: Rigid
» Description: To be honest, Rick almost felt like giving up, having tried what felt like every possible want in the store, none had provided any sign of forming the beginnings of any sort of bond with the effusive golden-haired eleven year old, but being a natural optimist and rarely if ever discouraged, Rick could not shake the growing feeling that waving lengths of wood around was not the cleverest use of his time, and it was with a growing sense of acceptance that he picked up the wand the elderly wandmaker handed to him after what felt like a lifetime of deliberation. A curious and ebullient child, the partnership between wizard and wand was struck in a shower of golden sparks. To the boy's mounting excitement Olivander elaborated on how he "never twigged that that wand would ever find an owner, well my wide eyed lad, enjoy, but do so responsibly!"
Appearance:

Description: "If you weren't a sunshine mop top, I'd swear you were a Weasley." That joking assessment of him by his own mother tells one pretty much all one needs to know about the effervescent life of the party that is Rick "Stayes". A prankster with a heart of gold and particularly quick hands his enthusiasm and joie de vivre is infectious and perhaps understandably he was extremely popular during his student days, as both "laugh-inducer in especial" and "Quaffle-poacher King", Always ready with a good word, and a pick me up "Roisterous Rick" could sometimes take things a little too far in the spirit of carefree abandon, leading to him getting carried away on occasion, although he has since learned to keep his bubbling emotions in check. As a player he imbued the national team with hie never-say-die gusto, and now as a teacher, his love for Quidditch, informal manner contribute to his being one of the most popular teachers at Hogwarts.
Background: The third of four children born into a Quidditch mad family, Rick would say that he learned to fly before he could walk, and the number of times his mother can recall performing blanket hover charms so that the breakables were kept well out of the way and her pride at watching her three two daughters and two sons facing off in games of two-a-side Quidditch above the expansive back lawn ought to make it come as no surprise that he was selected for his house Quidditch team as soon as second year began; the no first years rule still having been upheld) Although smaller than his siblings, his initial allocation as seeker was soon abandoned in favour of chaser. Loving the constant interplay in the centre of the pitch, Rick could make the quaffle do "things I had never believe possible" to quote Podraig Frume, Quidditch master during Rick's time at Hogwarts. While he excelled on the pitch and in the air, books remained something of an impediment for him, although he more than made up for his abysmal performances in History of Magic and Potions by surprising his Transfiguration and Charms professors, one of whom noted that he "has the vim and vigour that makes for a mind open to the wonder of magic." Curious, but by no means careless, Hogwarts after dark became the haunt of "the cubs" as he termed his little gang of Gryffindors, all in the same year as he was, all swayed by his persuasive promise of thrills and spills. It was during his seventh and last year that, upon the invitation of Cadmus Farrington, his head of house, and avid Chudley Cannon nut, the seasoned talent scout Barnabas Pidgley watched him play, and soon after leaving Hogwarts, extended the offer of flying with the Cannons. Somewhat crestfallen not to be approached from an official from his childhood team, the Wimbourne Wasps, Rick nevertheless accepted with his trademark eagerness, and so began one of the more glory-tinged eras which long-suffering Cannons fans still recall with warm pride of nostalgia as "the beginning of the ascent." His life beyond the sport continued apace as his skills catapulted him into the public eye, and wealth and renown soon followed. Ironically what he proudly calls "the best decision I ever made" had nothing at all to do with quidditch, but everything to do with a bookish, bespectacled waif of a girl; Muggle-born Martha-Anne Foxglove. It is with a fond smile that he recalls their first, inauspicious meeting, with her tending to the idiot who, having unwisely opted to fly after several firewhiskies, crashed into her back garden and broke his arm. Fortunately she had been a junior healer at St. Mungo's (she is now head healer specialising in sports-related injuries) and one awkward "date" turned into more as he gradually drew her out of her shell. Rick proposed to her not long after being called up to the England Quidditch team. Left trailing in the wake of the Irish and Welsh teams, England, with the "goal-den" assistance from Rick improved their standings internationally, but fell short of world cup glory, losing to Australia two hundred and thirty to two hundred and ten, with Rick scoring thirteen times. Hanging up his broom after seven years of top international Quidditch, he had several coaching jobs on the table when Professor Zosimos, of all people approached him about teaching the young witches and wizards of his alma mater to fly, and recalling the wonder of his first experience airborne, there was only ever one decision. It was also then that Martha informed him she was expecting triplets!

Pet: Owl
» Name: Screech
» Gender: Male
» Age: 12
» Appearance:
» Description: A gift from his then-girlfriend, Martha was deeply touched by his tale of his close relationship with his pet barn owl Shriek which he had during his student years, and which had died at the ripe old age of nineteen the summer before he had met her. Screech flew into that owl-shaped hole in his life, and the two bonded almost straightaway. Rick refers to the majestic tyto alba as his "wingman", and the two of them are often seen flying together over the Hogwarts grounds. Screech is a very expressive owl, and earned his cacophonous moniker after his penchant for shrieking at his master to wake up and divest him of his burden, usually a copy of the The Daily Prophet or monthly editions of Which Broomstick.
Other: Martha's brother Malcolm is a fan of the Muggle football team Liverpool, and Rick has developed a liking for the reds as well as even playing the game when he can as part of the Queen's Head Reds, a local pub team where Martha's parents live.
THOMASName: Thomas Oliver Straut
Gender: Male
Blood: Half-Blood
Age: 15
» Birthday: January 17
House: Slytherin
» Year: 5
» Quidditch: N/A
» Position: Student
Wand:
» Wood: Cherry
» Core: Dragon Heartstring
» Length: 10 2/3 Inches
» Flexibility: Inflexible
» Description: The wand maker who sold Thomas this wand was very hesitant to do so. He even pulled his parents aside to quote his great uncle's warning: This sort of wand ought never be teamed with a wizard without exceptional self-control and strength of mind. Thomas's parents, while they did hear the warning, did not pay the wandmaker's words as much attention as he would have liked. Still, the wand did indeed choose the wizard, and Ollivander pushed his concerns to the side. While many wizards foolishly consider cherry a foolish, frivolous wand wood, it possesses lethal power, especially with addition of a dragon heartstring core. Cherry is a rare wand wood prized especially among the students of Mahoutokoro in Japan (there, those who own cherry wands have special prestige). The wand is capable of changing allegiance and will always bond strongly with the present owner. While it does not incline towards the Dark Arts, it is capable of being turned to such. It is a bit touchy, as far as wands go, and while it learns quickly, it is a tad temperamental and prone to accidents. That being said, it is also capable of the most flamboyant spells, a quality Thomas enjoys taking advantage of. So far, he has proved a competent master of the powerful wand, but he is one who likes to test the limits. The wand is a dark, reddish-brown that has grown darker as it's aged. It has a slender, rounded tip, and, as per tradition, a thicker handle region. A briolette (a pear shaped gemstone covered with facets that comes to a pointed end) goshenite (a colorless variety of beryl) gemstone sits at the top of the handle, effectively separating the wand into two separate pieces. Somehow, the dragon heartstring runs through the gem, causing the clear stone to glow, the intensity of the light determined by the strength of the spell cast, and lasting only for the duration of said spell. Thomas is very attached to and proud of his wand.
Appearance:

Description: Thomas and his twin brother Patrick are identical twins, but rarely can someone not spot the difference between the two. Where Patrick is all cheerful, interested, and engaged, Thomas is moody, disinterested, and more focused on achieving his goal rather than interacting with the people around him. He is a bit self-absorbed in his ambition, and looks up to Kassidy for her success so far in school. His brother is his best friend, but he often considers his compassion for others as a weakness. Like his brother, he has light brown hair that is slightly wavy that he has let grow nearly to his shoulders. He has grey eyes and a pale face that usually bears a bored expression. Standing at five feet and ten inches, he is just getting into the swing of things, and will probably end up being at least six feet and three inches tall. He is a skinny twig of a thing, all lanky and long, lacking the muscle his brother has gained from Quidditch. He frequently runs his fingers through his hair, pushing it back, away from his face. He doesn't talk much, but when he speaks, his obvious superiority complex shows through in the contempt with which he refers to others. His voice is medium-high, and a bit squeaky because of puberty. He hates it when his voice cracks, but he takes it as a sign his desire to have a low voice may yet come true. (He will be disappointed.) He cares a great deal for his family, even if he often doesn't show it.
Background: Henry and Margaret met at the Ministry of Magic, in the Department of Magical Law Enforcement. Despite a six year age difference, the two fell in love and, before too long, ended up with four children: Kassidy, the twins Patrick and Thomas, and Clarisse. Kassidy, Thomas's eldest sister, proved to him long ago that he could really do anything he dreamed. She is one of Thomas's greatest role-models, for her success in Quidditch and school. When Thomas was first Sorted into Slytherin, he was hugely distraught at being separated from Patrick. The Hat didn't even bother to give him a choice, it had barely touched his head when it loudly shouted "Slytherin," something Thomas remained bitter about for the first half of his first year. At one point around Christmas time, however, he realized just how like his peers he was. Many of them had the same cunning, devious mind as him, and the same drive to succeed. As the years went by, he realized his ambition was nearly unparalleled, but still he reveled in the company of such like-minded individuals. He has grown more and more antisocial, choosing to spend his time learning as much magic as he possibly can.

Pet: Cat
» Name: Taffeta
» Gender: Female
» Age: 5
» Appearance:

» Description: Thomas purchased Taffeta, an orange tabby, in Diagon Alley when he was a wee, eleven-year-old lad. Taffeta, who was a scrawny, two-month old kitten at the time, has developed into a gorgeous, golden-eyed queen. She is completely spoilt by Thomas, and is a little on the chubby side for it. She almost prances as she walks, her fluffy tail waving in the air behind her. She thinks she is the greatest thing since sliced bread, not aided by Thomas's treatment of her. She loves fish, especially salmon, and will turn her nose up at anything dry. She is prissy, vain, and exceedingly particular. She only likes to be pet in certain ways, and only by certain people. She adores Thomas and stands for Patrick and Kassidy. Occasionally she will let Clarisse pet her, but she isn't the girl's biggest fan.
Other: Thomas's favorite color is dark green.
PATRICKName: Jackson Patrick Straut
Gender: Male
Blood: Half-Blood
Age: 15
» Birthday: January 17
House: Hufflepuff
» Year: 5
» Quidditch: Keeper
» Position: Student
Wand:
» Wood: English Oak
» Core: Phoenix Feather
» Length: 12 Inches
» Flexibility: Slightly Bendy
» Description: This wand chose Patrick for his strength, courage, and fidelity and his powerful intuition, a lesser-known trait of English oak wielders. Additionally, an affinity concerning the magic of the natural world attracted the wand to the then-eleven-year-old boy. The wand is as loyal as any, just as the boy who owns is. It is capable of a great range of magic, though it took a little bit of convincing to persuade the wand he was worthy of its power. The wand frequently displays a mind of its own, but Patrick doesn't usually mind.
Appearance:

Description: Patrick is not as responsible nor nearly as ambitious as his older sister, Kassidy, but they both share a love for Quidditch. It is something that he never has to worry about; he plays simply out of love of the game. He is quick and agile, but is also a loyal and kind member of the team, and a natural leader, though he doesn't enjoy being in positions of leadership. He does his best to help out the younger, less experienced members and keeps an eye out for them even outside of Quidditch. He's naturally protective, as his brother Thomas and younger sister Clarisse can attest. Patrick and his twin brother Thomas are identical twins, but rarely can someone not spot the difference between the two. Where Thomas is moody, disinterested, and more focused on achieving his goal rather than interacting with the people around him, Patrick is cheerful, interested, and engaged. His brother is his best friend, who he can't help but worry about every time he thinks of him. Like his brother, he has light brown hair that is slightly wavy that he has let grow nearly to his shoulders. He has grey eyes and a pale face of ruddy complexion that almost always bears a smile. Standing an inch shorter than Thomas at five feet and nine inches, he is just getting into the swing of things, and will probably end up being at least six feet and three inches tall. He is all lanky and long, like his brother, but unlike his twin, he has muscle gained from a few years of Quidditch. He frequently runs his fingers through his hair, pushing it up and off of his forehead. He isn't the most talkative of people, but when he speaks, his words are worth listening to. His voice is medium-high, and a bit squeaky because of puberty. He dislikes it when his voice cracks; he's just ready for his voice and body to finally stop changing. He cares a great deal for his family, obvious by the look in his eyes every time he sees them.
Background: Henry and Margaret met at the Ministry of Magic, in the Department of Magical Law Enforcement. Despite a six year age difference, the two fell in love and, before too long, ended up with four children: Kassidy, the twins Patrick and Thomas, and Clarisse. When he was Sorted into Hufflepuff and Thomas was Sorted into Slytherin, Patrick was distressed at being separated from his brother. The Hat didn't even bother to give Thomas a choice, it had barely touched his head when it loudly shouted "Slytherin." It gave Patrick a choice, Gryffindor or Hufflepuff. The thoughts it shared with Patrick made up his mind, and he has yet to look back. He still wishes his brother had been put in the same House as him, but he realizes they are just different people.

Pet: Cat
» Name: Courage
» Gender: Male
» Age: 5
» Appearance:

» Description: Thomas bought a little black kitten in Diagon Alley when he was eleven, heading off to his first year at Hogwarts. The silly little cat was afraid of nothing, instead bounding and tumbling all over the place. Thus, his name. Courage. While he loves Patrick, he absolutely adores Clarisse, and is almost more likely to be seen by her side than his. He loves attention and loves to bother Taffeta, Thomas's cat.
Other: Patrick's favorite color, for as long as he can remember, is fuchsia. Whenever people tell him it's a girly color, he gives them a dark scowl for their troubles. He thinks that colors are non-gender-specific and fuchsia is just a "super awesome color."

» Position: Student
Wand:
» Wood: Willow
» Core: Dragon Heartstring
» Length: 10 Inches
» Flexibility: Bendy
» Description: Audrey's wand is medium length and curves at the tip. It is very elegant and white almost silver in colour. The handle of Audrey's wand is elegant and rather elaborate. Audrey received her wand when entering the shop. Audrey tried three wands before she found this one. When she found her wand it produced a stream of silver and gold sparks. As a rule, dragon heartstrings produce wands with the most power, and which are capable of the most flamboyant spells. Dragon heartstring wands tend to learn more quickly than other types. While they can change allegiance if won from their original master, they always bond strongly with the current owner. The dragon heartstring wand tends to be easiest to turn to the Dark Arts, though it will not incline that way of its own accord. It is also the most prone of the three cores to accidents, being somewhat temperamental. Willow is an uncommon wand wood with healing power, and it has been noted that the ideal owner for a willow wand often has some (usually unwarranted) insecurity, however well they may try and hide it. While many confident customers insist on trying a willow (attracted by their handsome appearance and well-founded reputation for enabling advanced, non-verbal magic) willow wands have consistently selected those of greatest potential, rather than those who feel they have little to learn. It has always been a proverb in that he who has furthest to travel will go fastest with willow. It chose her because of her potential, meaning she probably feels she still has a lot to learn, and also because of some insecurities she has, seen by the wand despite her efforts to hide them. The wand is a little shorter than average, which suits her because she isn't that loud or outgoing. Dragon heartstring cores make wands more adaptable and she is adaptable too..
Appearance:
Description: Audrey has what is described as cream and roses skin with long wavy silky soft dark brown nearly black hair. Audrey's lips are full and are a rosy pink. Audrey is petite and of a slender build, only 5'1". Her eyes are an unusual colour being a purple-blue colour, and they are framed by long dark lashes. Audrey is brave and very loyal to those who earn her loyalty. Audrey doesn't trust people easily and once you lose her trust you never earn it back. Audrey is sweet to some people but to most she seems stuck up and cold. She is the ice princess of Gryffindor by other people due to her cold personality. Audrey can care for people but thinks it is a waste of her time that she could spend making allies and connections to get her ahead in life. Audrey is rebellious even if she doesn't seem like it at first. She is very well spoken and has an upper class London accent. Audrey has good manners and knows how to behave in polite society. Audrey is normally respectful towards any adult she comes across. But what she doesn't realize is that she would jump in front of someone she loved to save there lives. She is also willing to stand up against people to get what she wants.
Background: Audrey was born into a wealthy pure-blood family and was spoiled rotten. Audrey's every whim was indulged and she was waited on hand and foot by her family's house elves and servants and by her stepsister. As Audrey grew older she became more beautiful and spoilt. She knew how to get what she wanted and had her whole family wrapped around her little finger. Her family is a dark family, obsessed with the Dark Arts and blood purity. Audrey's great grandfather had been a Death Eater strongly devoted to Voldemort's cause. At nine years old she got separated from her family in Diagon Alley and got lost down Knockturn Alley. Audrey discovered a book shop with lots of rare and exciting books in it. She strangely wasn't scared to be alone in the alley but felt rather at ease. She found several things of interest in the store like a book on dark creatures. Her parents found her a few hours later worried out of their minds. Audrey returned to Diagon Alley a few years later when she turned eleven after her Hogwarts letter had arrived.Audrey bought all of her things and visited the bookstore she had found herself in when she had got lost in Knockturn Alley. She then purchased a book on the Dark Arts. She made friends on the train and was sorted into Gryffindor much to everyone's surprise. She has stayed on the edge of the social scene and only has a few friends. Audrey really is the snake in the lion's den. She was sorted into Gryffindor as her bravery outweighs her cunning, intelligence, and ambition. As she was told by her parents you don't necessarily have to be good or noble to be brave.

MAEVEName: Maeve Justicia Pangbourne
Gender: Female
Blood: Muggle-born
Age: 15
» Birthday: December 25
House: Hufflepuff
» Year: 5
» Quidditch: N/A
» Position: Prefect
Wand:
» Wood: Pear
» Core: Fairy Wing and Unicorn Hair
» Length: 12 Inches
» Flexibility: Pliable
» Description: Obtaining a wand was the most eagerly anticipated experience of all, and practically floating on a cloud of excitement, Maeve stepped into Olivander's, oblivious to the subtle undertone of timeless mystery and gazed wide eyed at the tottering piles of wand-boxes, until a strangely transparent voice made her jump. Oddly, it was she who pointed out the wand that would be hers, initiating it from among the thousands on display. When asked what made her select that particular wand her answer attempted to articulate the unspoken feeling that it had called to her somehow, a sensation that made her feel more than a little foolish. Enamoured by the warm gold of the handsome instrument, Maeve could barely wait to begin trying out spells for herself, contributing to her bouncy eagerness for September the first.
Appearance:

Description: Where most of her fellow first years were nervous, the bubbly blonde was brimming with enthusiasm, eager to begin her foray into this new hidden world. The truth was that her external exuberance hid a deep insecurity, a prevailing displacement she can trace to her fractured childhood. Confiding in nobody but sustaining a sunny demeanour, food has always been her comfort, and the smorgasbord of the Hogwarts feasts soon made her feel at home. Comfortably plump since her childhood, her happiness at Hogwarts with her newfound friends saw her happily exceed the "first year fifteen" as she exercised her enjoyment of both the company, academic pursuits and challenges her new life posed. Unused to being the centre of attention, her natural amicable nature wins her friends easily, and her buffered honesty softens the blows of potentially harsh truths. Not overly into sports, she nevertheless retains a growing fascination with Quidditch, and an unabashed crush on the handsome Keeper of her House team.
Background: Its always difficult to be different from one's siblings, and in Maeve's case, she's the only daughter, and magically inclined child of four, all three brothers, two elder and one younger. Naturally left out of their boyish pursuits, she tried her level best to get involved, but invariably, and through no malice of her brother's often wound up the odd one out. With an absentee father and a mother surreptitiously compensating by inviting his colleague around, growing up in the Pangbourne household was something of a nightmare, had it not been for Uncle Archie. Her father's step brother "Odd Archie" as he was dismissively termed, was the only member of her family to whom Maeve had ever felt attached to. He somehow seemed to understand when she confided in him about the strange things going on around her, the things she apparently did without meaning to, such as the time the television blew up in the middle of a football game because her brother's had been nasty to her. Life was tolerable enough for a while, until, inevitably the discovery was made, and she became tangled up in her parents painful divorce proceedings. Always a hearty eater, it was during this traumatizing time that she truly piled on the pounds, having grown up with the association between good food and things being hunky dory. Not feeling attached to either parent, who were, in any case, more preoccupied with screwing each other over, she begged her uncle to let her stay with him, and it was only when it was finally agreed, was it revealed to her what she was, a witch. A half-blood himself Archibald Clement Pangbourne stood beside his step niece, beaming with pride when she received her letter, and took her personally to Diagon Alley, lavishing her with a pet puffskein as a "first year birthday present". Hogwarts was everything he said it would be and more, and already in love with the tales her uncle had regaled her with, Maeve finally felt she was home. Proving to be a natural in Charms and adept in Transfiguration, she found Muggle Studies the most fascinating, even if she does consider it "a bit of a cheat because I am sort of a Muggle really!" Not particularly sporty, her brother's preoccupation with the fortunes and failures of West Ham Football Club naturally saw her gravitating towards Quidditch, where she first spotted the boy who utterly disarmed her; characteristically voluble and expressive, in his presence she'd go all silent, trying not to choke on her suppressed giggles, finally plucking up the courage to speak to Patrick during the end of term feast during her second year, and has since maintained a "floating" friendship/crush on him.

» Marcus Jonathan Pangbourne - Brother; 21; Professional Footballer, West Ham United Football Club

» James Philip Pangbourne - Brother; 13; Student
» Archibald Clement Pangbourne - Step Uncle; 44; Head of the Anti-Muggle Exploitation Squad, Ministry of Magic; Former Hufflepuff
Pet: Cat
» Name: Tangy
» Gender: Female
» Age: 5
» Appearance:

» Description: Purchased for her because "every witch needs a cat" the chubby tangerine kitten immediately fell victim to her mistress's loving hug, and since that day, Maeve and Tangy have been nigh inseparable. Keener on "fwomping" out on his mistress's lap belly first than prowling around in search of furry edibles. Popular with the other students as well, Tangy was adopted as "official Hufflepuff common room mascot" during his second year at the castle, mostly for his amiable, playful nature, but also for his unabashed gentle bullying of anyone he encounters until they succumb to his cuteness and placate him with a tasty tidbit. Often serving as a warm, lightly vibrating source of affection whom Maeve deeply cherished during her first few months adjusting to life in the castle. Something of a self imposed guardian of her bed, and custodian of the Hufflepuff fireplace, often has been the time when weary after a day of classes Maeve has been greeted with a warmth around her ankles, picking up the purring fluff for a welcome cuddle.
Other: As fractured as they often were, Maeve still has fond memories of her early domestic happiness and is close to her younger brother, whom she still writes to regularly, given Hogwarts' "prejudice" against Muggle technology such as her mobile phone which she keeps in case of an emergency.
LOKIName: Lochlan Devon Graton
Gender: Male
Blood: Pure-Blood
Age: 15
» Birthday: March 7
House: Hufflepuff
» Year: 5
» Quidditch: Seeker
» Position: Student
Wand:
» Wood: Silver Lime
» Core: Mooncalf Blood and Pixie Eggs
» Length: 12 Inches
» Flexibility: Pliable
» Description: Loki's wand seems to be more about appearance than anything else, with the overly fancy silver wood and vine designs engraved into the handle. Silver lime wands serve best people with the sight or those skilled at Legilimency, even at fifteen Loki has shown some skill towards the latter area, even if he can't tell the future from the past. His wand is a very powerful charms wand as well, the core being a blend of mooncalf blood and pixie eggs, both of which boost charms, along with Light leanings and a slight Herbology advantage from the mooncalf blood. Loki's wand is very rare, as neither the wood or one of the cores are commonly used, and are actually hard to come by. Loki's wand is around average length, and pliable, fitting his loyal personality.
Appearance:

Description: Loki was given his nickname not for a particular love of the Norse trickster god, but more as a shortening of his name that reflected on his personality. He was called this by his brother in their first year at Hogwarts, when Loki started using his wand and magic to prank people, doing silly things like making their quills float out of their hands while they were writing. One of his most memorable tricks was just the previous year, his fourth year, when he hid every single broom in Hogwarts right before a Quidditch game. Appearance wise, he doesn't share too much of a resemblance with his sister, apart from having the same hair and eyes. He's around average height, standing at 5'8" with a lean but muscular build. He is quite agile and attentive, qualities that make him a good seeker for the Hufflepuff Quidditch team. He doesn't really care about his appearance, though he has a passion for fashion and will often start reading girls magazines, most commonly those that belong to his friend Evelina Bajenaru. He pays careful attention to things, making him a good seeker for the Hufflepuff team. He is also very confident, a trait that comes from finally standing up to his parents about things such as his sister and his sexuality, and being true to himself. He loves being around people, even if it's just his family, so you'll never find him alone, ever. He greatly values family, although not his family so much, especially since meeting Trix. Since he has grown distant from his father, Loki has become much closer to his siblings. Loki, like Trix, is a fan or glamour charms to slightly alter his appearance, although he doesn't use them often on himself, preferring to scare people by doing something to them. He once made a boy's hair turn bright pink upon exiting the shower—that had been funny.
Background: Loki was born a twin on March seventh, fifteen years ago, to a rather snobby pure-blood family. Because of their prejudices he never really loved or felt close to his family, and was all to grateful when he got a letter at the age of eleven inviting him to Hogwarts. On his first year, he met a girl a year older than him, Beatrix 'Trix' Layla Torraine. One of Trix's classmates pointed out the shocking resemblance between Loki, Will, and Trix. Loki had listened intently as Trix launched into her life story, how she had been abandoned to the orphanage by her mother. "I'm either muggle born—which I think is unlikely," she told them, "Or a half-blood." She told them her mother's name and her general appearance, which she knew from having the ladies at the orphanage tell her. Thinking about what the woman would have looked like, Loki realized that their father had a picture that exactly fit Trix's description. "Father has a picture of a woman who looks like that!" Lochlan had explained, "We'll send an owl asking about you." And the twins did, but received no response. At Christmas there was a full-out confrontation between Loki, Will, and their father. He wanted nothing to do with his daughter Trix, even though the boy's mother would have loved to take her in. The three siblings grew very close during their time together at Hogwarts, and that has caused much resentment in the Graton family. Another thing which has caused Loki family issues is that he is bisexual, and came out about this, making it a known fact the past year. His father thought this ridiculous and unnatural, and tried to have Loki 'fixed', but Loki wouldn't stand for it, stating the simple fact that he would move out should his father even try anything.

» William Richard Graton - Brother; 15; Hufflepuff
Pet: Owl
» Name: Shiver
» Gender: Male
» Age: 5
» Appearance:

» Description: Shiver was named, because, as Loki would put it, "Snowy owls make me think of snow, and snow is cold, and cold makes you shiver, so it would only make sense to have a snowy owl called shiver." Many people laugh at him or think him ridiculous for this, but the owl doesn't seem to mind, simply turning his head to look at his owner with bright orange eyes whenever he is called upon. Shiver isn't a very affectionate owl, "one might even call him cold," as Loki said to his sister, but Loki likes his owl the way he is, and doesn't believe in changing who you are.
Other: All three siblings (or half-siblings, as it might be) have seven-letter names that have been shortened into four-letter nicknames.
DALIAName: Adalia Mayrise McLaughlin
Gender: Female
Blood: Pure-Blood
Age: 16

House: Ravenclaw
» Year: 6
» Quidditch: N/A
» Position: Student
Wand:
» Wood: Holly
» Core: Unicorn Hair
» Length: 10 Inches
» Flexibility: Stiff
» Description: Dalia's wand is a dark brown with swirling engravings along the the length and a glossy finish. It is ten inches long, made of holly and unicorn hair. When Adalia chose her wand, well, when the wand chose her, she had tried out about twenty five different wands already, and the shop owner was starting to get annoyed at how long it was taking. He decided to just pick at random, and see what would happen. Sure enough, her wand finally came to her. It was a perfect fit and as soon as she held it in her hands she knew that it was just right for her. The wand almost protects Dalia, as holly is considered to be a protective wood. Its unicorn hair core is extremely hard to turn to the Dark Arts, which is strange for someone from a family of Slytherins and blood purists. This is another thing that makes her stick out like a sore thumb compared to the rest of her family. Her wand chose Dalia because it knew she was trying to find out who she was and where she belonged. Dalia also has some anger issues, and a fiery temper, so her wand helps her with that. Dalia and her wand complement each other very well, and she loves her wand. Her and her wand have a very faithful relationship, and an extremely strong attachment. Since unicorn hair is such a faithful core, this makes the attachment even stronger. Adalia is extremely careful not to get her wand damaged, for she had been warned that if her wand was seriously mishandled, the unicorn hair could die and her wand would need replacing.
Appearance:

Description: Dalia has long auburn hair. Her locks are not flaming red, or even a dark red, but deep auburn. At times her hair can appear to be a dark red, and other times light brown. When it's wet however, it looks very dark. It is very long, falling far past her shoulders, and there is a natural wave to it. Dalia also has freckles, but she isn't insecure about them and thinks they suit her well actually. Her eyes are (in her opinion of course) her best feature. They are a beautiful shade of light blue, appearing almost turquoise in hue. Her eyes and auburn hair complement each other very nicely. Long eyelashes frame her almond shaped eyes, and straight dark brows form perfect arches above. Her youth is evident in her round, attractive face, and a gleam of innocence still lights up her eyes, but only barely. Her lips are a full and natural pink and are shaped in a pout of sorts. This doesn't mean that she looks angry all the time, no, it only adds to her looks, providing her with more mysterious features. At five foot nine inches, Dalia is fairly tall for the age of sixteen and her body is quite developed, attracting (sometimes unwanted) attention from men. Dalia always tries to look her best, and she has a classy and stylish way of putting herself together. She often wears her hair in a cute messy bun, a side ponytail or just simply down so it spills over her shoulders. Her clothing always matches her personality and mood, which means she'll often be seen in cool colours and dark shades. She doesn't wear much makeup, only the necessities such as lip balm, and maybe concealer. Though when she is attending formal events she will add a smear of lipstick and maybe some mascara. Dalia is somewhat soft-spoken and may come across as timid or shy, maybe even somewhat unapproachable, but this is only because of her past. Dalia rarely speaks, and if she does it's just to answer questions in class. She doesn't have very many friends to speak with anyways. Dalia really is a kind and helpful soul with plenty of opinions and things to say beneath that withdrawn exterior. When Adalia does speak, her voice is not very high-pitched but still girly in a way. Her voice is crystal clear and she has good enunciation. Dalia is also very intelligent and tends to think outside the box, which earned her place in Ravenclaw. Although Dalia is soft-spoken, she still has quite the fiery temper. She might not express this anger out loud, but in her head she can say whatever she wants. Because she's so quick to anger, but quiet and introverted, she calms herself down by reading or playing the piano. There have been many times when she takes her anger out on the piano, and it doesn't sound pretty.
Background: Adalia was born into a large and fairly well known pure-blood family. The McLaughlin's were always very prejudiced towards muggle-borns, and even now they haven't let go of their ways. Dalia has always had very strong opinions on some topics, and she loathes her family's way of thinking. She isn't prejudiced towards muggle-borns and although she doesn't make her perspective extremely clear, she doesn't hide it either. While growing up in her parent’s household though, she was often shunned, put down and labeled a 'disappointment' because of these views. In addition to that, when she got to Hogwarts, she was not sorted into Slytherin like every single member of her family. She was sorted into Ravenclaw, and became a further disappointment. When she was home during the summer, this led to verbal and physical abuse from her parents. Her mother and father also showed obvious favouritism to her younger sister of two years, Sasha. Adalia and Sasha have almost polar opposite personalities. Sasha is cold, calculating, deceptive and manipulative whereas Adalia is kind hearted, and definitely not manipulative. The two sisters have a very strained relationship because of the favouritism, and rarely ever speak. Dalia and Sasha were forced to study in classical piano and they both share a love for the instrument and can play extremely well. While at home in the summer, Dalia always escaped her harsh family in her books. That is where her love for reading started, and since then she has never stopped and is hardly seen without a book. Ultimately, the abuse she endured at home affected her personality, and she became withdrawn. This also affected her school life, and is somewhat anti-social. When her sister arrived at Hogwarts for her first year, and was sorted into Slytherin, Dalia knew she could never surpass her sister in her parents' eyes, so she just gave up trying to impress them. In Dalia's opinion, Hogwarts is her real home, and she hates it when the year ends for that is when she needs to see her family once more.

Pet: Cat
» Name: Juliette
» Gender: Female
» Age: 3 Months
» Appearance:

» Description: Juliette is a frisky and excitable kitten who loves to play, and adores to be stroked softly on the head. She can also act a bit spoiled and can often be seen walking along with her little head held high, almost like she wants to be the center of attention. She has silky soft, greyish white fur with black stripes, long white whiskers and ears that stick up about two and a half inches. She is still quite small, but of course she's only a kitten, and is still growing. Juliette and Dalia don't have a very strong bond yet, but they still like each other quite a bit and enjoy being in each other’s company. Adalia had owned another cat named Charlie, but he was already quite old once she got to Hogwarts. He died in her third year, but she waited a while before she got another pet, a while being about three years.
Other: Dalia is extremely, almost obsessively, tidy. She has a labelling system in her closet at home, and during the year at school she cleans her living area and organizes every possession of hers. She won't let anyone touch her things without her permission, and therefore she doesn't allow the house elves to rearrange her things when they clean the rooms. All of the books in her trunk are arranged in accordance to size and her school materials are colour coded. Plenty of her classmates like to ask to copy off her notes because they are so neat and organized. She is also an avid reader, and she spends a large amount of her time in the library hunched in a corner, her nose stuck in a book. Dalia is also a talented pianist.
AVIName: Avis Cyra Acacallis Li
Gender: Female
Blood: Half-Blood
Age: 27
» Birthday: May 17
Position: Arithmancy Professor
House: Ravenclaw
Wand:
» Wood: Acacia
» Core: Diricawl Feather
» Length: 13 Inches
» Flexibility: Pliable
» Description: When Avis first walked, unassumingly, into Ollivander's wand shop, the elderly wandmaker thought that finding her a wand would be a cinch. He was right, as usual. Avi walked out in a matter of ten minutes, clutching a thin wooden rod in her small white hands, and, as always, without making the slightest fuss or disturbance in the daily ebb and flow of business at the renowned wand shop. Her wand was so ordinary and so run-of-the-mill in appearance that it prompted Ollivander to remember it particularly well. A dainty baton of a pleasingly tawny caramel-coloured wood, it possesses a muted lustre that only echoes its owner's modesty. Its whole thirteen inches are extraordinarily plain in appearance, devoid of any embellishments on the acacia wood. Embedded with a diricawl feather, it is a peculiar sort of wand at heart, one crafted of exotic materials, but thoroughly mundane in outward appearance and temperament. Neither too fiery nor too submissive, but pliable physically, it is a perfect reproduction of its mistress in personality, as well as in the ambience they radiate.
Appearance:

Description: Avi is of a quiet, tranquilly imposing personality. Never one to harshly reprimand her pupils, she merely expresses her disappointment through a serenely uttered, "I would have thought that this meant more to you," or an "I'm sorry that you did not complete the assignment." Never one for verbal or physical arguments, Avi prefers to withdraw from both the social and political scenes, instead retreating to the backseat and letting the others bicker shamelessly. She never loses her temper, nor does she ever raise her voice above a whisper. Her lips rarely curve in a smile, and never in a frown or grimace. Her existence is focused on moderation and emotional detachment. A strict disciplinarian, Avi advocates sternness and austerity. She is like the placid, silent crusader of temperance, broadcasting her message to the world through whispered murmurings and gentle gestures. Her outward appearance corresponds with this. Avi is of a petite stature and a slim, lithe frame. Her eyes are almond-shaped and Oriental-looking, an ode to her Chinese heritage. They are shadowed by cimmerian lashes. Although they are shaped like a doe's, muted and benign, it is possible to detect a barely-perceptible trace of fiery, flinty hardheadedness behind the mild-seeming, crystalline eyes. Avi's face is tinged with a delicate, ethereal pallor, thus enhancing her diminutive, faerie-like appearance. Her hair is like a silky sheet of ebony black when undone. However, it is most often pinned up in a hard little knot at the nape of her slender white neck. Avi's lips are rosebud-like, cyclamen-red, thin, and without the smallest hint of jocose laughter infecting their tight lines. Her blanched cheeks are rather hollow for such a young woman, and each hold only a tiny vestige of coral colour. Avi has a salient, elfin chin, which shapes her face into that of a arresting heart form. She is of a dainty and lithe, but frail-looking build, with a tapered torso, narrow hips, gaunt legs and sinewy arms.
Background: Avis was born to a wealthy Wizarding couple in Scotland, both children of Chinese immigrants. Her mother, a pureblood by the name of Cecilia Ao, was supposedly distantly related to Cho Chang. Avi's father was a successful Muggle-born businessman. Cecilia was rather like Avi in temperament: a quiet, reserved, and ascetic woman who kept to herself and preferred solitude to the challenges of society. However, Avi's father, a man named Alastair Li, was a positive sybarite. A rash, rather presumptuous giant of a man at six-foot-four, Alastair was proud of his wealth and liked to showcase it, unlike his frugal, tenable wife. While she walked out onto the street in drab-grey wool skirts and plain linen blouses, he had a liking for showy silk suits in extravagant colours and gold rings set with rows of large, sparkling gemstones. He was bold and liberal, while she was conservative and taciturn. However, it seemed that, in the house, she dominated him. Whenever she would order him about, in her most tranquil tone of voice, he would meekly obey, like a child in front of his strict mother. Cecilia raised Avi in the older fashion—she taught her to be seen and not heard, and to dress modestly and present an aloof, cold demeanor in public. Avi's whole childhood was extremely uneventful, and her Hogwarts years flew by in a blur of perfect exams and stellar O.W.L. and N.E.W.T. scores. Her father's business, a broomstick company, kept expanding, and their family accumulated more and more money. However, Avi was never spoiled. Her mother saw to it that she had only sombrely-coloured pinafores and starched white aprons to wear at home--indeed, the few who knew her well thought her outlandishly old-fashioned—and plain grey jumpers, white knee-length cotton socks, black Mary Janes, and pleated black skirts of a reasonable length to wear at school. Even the family cat, Mo Li Hua, affectionately called 'Molly' by Alastair, was raised austerely. Avi's early life was as monotonous and repetitive as one could imagine, and she secretly longed to leave the second she turned seventeen. Once Avi left Hogwarts—Head Girl and Quidditch Captain to boot, she entered the Ministry of Magic, as a secretary to the Minister. Her life was as boring as it had been before—each day drowned in a mountain of paperwork. At twenty-five, Avi decided that she was fed up with the Ministry, and left her position as Undersecretary to the Minister of Magic to pursue a career as a teacher. Returning to Hogwarts with perfect scores, she snagged a job as Arithmancy professor without the slightest bit of trouble, and has taught the subject for two years, enforcing the principles her mother taught her as a child.

» Description: Mo Li Hua, or Molly, as she is frequently called by Avis, is a cat with a personality much like her mistress'. Reclusive and quiet, she does not hold with open displays of affection toward anyone. Small and slim, with a sensible grey pelt, as Cecilia wouldn't have put up with her if she hadn't one, she is silent and slinks about the place in a stealthy, ninja-like manner, hunting her prey. Quite a typical cat, she is also fiercely loyal towards her mistress, who raised her from a kitten and has treated her kindly and humanely.
Other: Avi's secret ambition is to go on an adventure, to free her from the bonds of monotony that have restricted her for so long.

Wand:
» Wood: Silver Lime
» Core: Powdered Clabbert Horn and Augurey Tail Feather
» Length: 11 1/2 Inches
» Flexibility: Unyielding
» Description: Ollivander sensed an aura of the mystic about Mira as the pale, frail girl entered his wand shop, large gossamer-spun eyes searching the nooks and crannies of the small space. He could tell, immediately, that this slip of a girl would bond with a silver lime wand. And so it was. Known for having an affinity with only the most clairvoyant, the Seers, silver lime is an attractive, silver-speckled wood. Mira's wand is thin and straight, like a spike of pearl and silver. From afar, the wand seems to glow with an opaline light, many-hued iridescent facets glimmering like a rare pearl harvested from the most precious oyster. It is milky in appearance when viewed closely, and the reflected colours on it seem to shift and flow like a liquid, like unicorn blood. Its prismatic surface is mottled with a broken skin seemingly made of molten alabaster, and catches the light as a beautiful gemstone might, casting its luminous rays on the wielder. Its combined core of powdered clabbert horn and augurey tail feather work together in melodious harmony, and spells cast by Mira's wand are subtle, but shimmer like a wisp of nacreous mist shot from the tip of the eleven-and-a-half-inch-long instrument. The core boosts her Defence Against the Dark Arts and Divination talents, as well as noting her misunderstood state of being. However, despite its fragile appearance, it is an excellent duelling wand.
Appearance:

Description: By normal standards, Mira is not a beautiful girl. Of Spanish descent on her father's side, and Belgian and Dutch ancestry on her mother's, she is of an odd, singularly eccentric appearance. Her complexion is pale and rather pasty, and her wide, orb-like eyes bizarrely pale, like a girl in a sepia-toned, aged vignette photo. Similarly, she possesses a sort of antiquated daintiness. Mira's facial features can best be described as salient and frail. With a sharp, elfin chin and pointed nose, Mira appears, wrongly, to be a helpless little girl incapable of her fighting spirit and staunch loyalty. Thin and small, Mira looks insubstantial enough to blow away in the wind, like a denizen of the heavens rather than of this earth. Her hair is a sort of ash blonde, fine and always hanging in a tangled, windblown curtain. The irises of her eyes continue this slightly gauzy, spacey look. Her main distinguishing feature, they are coloured two rather starkly different tints, and have a tendency to wander off in different directions. The left one is an olive green, like a shard of dulled malachite. The other is a calm, pastel variant of periwinkle blue, and, like its twin, aberrantly pale. Indeed, the whole of her seems to be filled in with diluted watercolour paint, her eyes lined with filmy silk. An unfortunate victim of the car crash that claimed her mother's life when she was a mere infant, Mira is fully blind in her blue eye, and missing a leg. At times, she is unable to walk, confined to a wheelchair. At others, she is able to use her prosthetic leg to hobble around. Though she is but a destitute orphan, her orphanage has received financial aid from the British government to help provide her with both her wheelchair and leg. Despite all this, her wistful countenance precedes the oddity of her being in the minds of others. Indeed, she has shown many times that she is wise beyond her years, and, perhaps because of her gift, has the ability to look forward and practically predict the outcome of an endeavour. However, she attributes this to mere foresight. To echo this thoughtfulness, however limited, Mira's voice is rather dreamy and seems off-kilter, as though she lives a dream, and dwells in a world of her own creation. Mira may seem blunt and a bit direct at times, but she understands tact, and is capable of being extremely respectful. Although her intelligence is far above average—as a matter of fact, it was tested to be 180 at the beginning of her early (Muggle) schooling—she rarely displays this. However, her fatal flaw is perhaps her narrow, closed mind. She refuses to accept anything that she does not wish to believe, and will not cooperate, under any circumstances, with ones that she has already deemed unlikable. Yes, she is wise and longsighted, but her own opinions cloud this foresight and bar her from truly being astute and rational.
Background: Mira's tale begins with her mother. A romantic teenage girl, Annemarie Anaïs Janssen-Claeys was always dreaming of her Prince Charming and her shining castle. However, it became apparent to her, having scraped past high school on the tiniest of margins, and had failed to be accepted to college, that her dream was crashing down around her because of her rather fanciful, quixotic ways. Her parents having threatened to throw her out of the house if she did not own her own keep, she took a part-time job at a diner, she worked in anger and resentment at her lowly position. She longed to be a princess among men, to be loved by a kind, handsome, wealthy man. Alas, her hopes were never fulfilled. However, one day, a dashing young man came to the diner to order a sandwich. He had a devil-may-care glint in his eye, and a glib tongue. His name was Miguel Luis Nieves, and he was a wealthy Spanish investor's son and aspiring politician. He certainly had the charm required for such an occupation, and, to her, his money seemed to come quickly and in large amounts. A pretty, charismatic girl herself, Annemarie was soon seen everywhere with him: lunching at the restaurant of a glitzy hotel, driving in a new red Ferrari, walking on the grounds of their luxurious mansion, tanning on the beach. Rumour had it that they were engaged, and girls swooned everywhere Nieves went. But, misfortune had a tendency to strike anywhere, anytime, and the most prosperous of people. One day, Nieves' father had made a bad investment, and the plunging stocks of the bankrupt company sapped the man and his family of all their wealth. Nieves was now destitute, and without a job or college degree. Their beautiful villa was gone, they were evicted, and Nieves moved the couple into a miniscule cottage beyond the outskirts of Manchester, a rural place that was forsaken and lonely. Practically mad with grief at his lost fortune by now, Nieves drank heavily and treated Annemarie like trash, despite the fact that she was now heavily pregnant with their first child, who was to be born out of wedlock. On December 31st, in bitter cold and flying snow, Mira Lourdes Nieves was born. Annemarie had suffered a 36-hour-long birth in her bed, a drunken Miguel having been frolicking with prostitutes in a nearby clandestine brothel. Once Mira had been born, the terrified Annemarie waited several hours waiting for Miguel, certain that he had squandered the last of the meagre money that they had. At sunrise, an intoxicated Nieves stumbled back, laughing wildly and dizzily swinging his arms to and fro. In a drunken stupor, he brutally beat Annemarie and left, never to be seen again. Shamefully, and bearing bloody bruises, marks of her beating, she staggered, clutching Mira, into the city and purchased train tickets to London with the last bits of her money. Upon making it back, she was a rather frightening sight—bedraggled, black-and-blue, and wild-eyed. Haggard, she walked back to her parents' home and begged for forgiveness. Immediately, their hearts softened at the sight of their broken daughter. They intended to drive her to the doctor to get her medical aid. After taking Mira to the doctor's, they returned home, and all was peaceful for about a month or so. However, when the Janssens were to take Mira back to the doctor for another checkup when tragedy struck. The day being foggy and heavily clouded, a truck inadvertently slammed into the vehicle and three others while it was passing through an intersection. As a result, ten people were killed—all of Mira's family, a couple driving one of the cars that had been hit and a family of five in a van. Three were wounded, including Mira, who was pulled from the smoking wreckage, the truck driver, and a young woman driving the third car. Mira remained in a coma for several weeks, and seemed to be on the verge of death, but clung on to life. Despite her fragile appearance, she was a fighter. Once her condition had stabilised and Mira had recovered quite fully, she was removed to a convent-run orphanage in London. She has lived there ever since, and it is a miserable place, gray and dark. She had once journeyed up to the attic to fetch something for the nuns who ran the orphanage, who were kindly but dull. Upon reaching the entrance of the place, she could tell that it was a magical place. Cobwebs ran rampant, swathing everything in a sort of white silk, and dusty light filtered in through the grubby windowpanes. However, it was an ethereal place, the sort of habitat a child could let their imagination run wild. She adopted it as her special hideout. Upon receiving her Hogwarts letter, she has had hope of having a new, much better life.

Pet: Owl
» Name: Eowyn
» Gender: Female
» Age: 7
» Appearance:
» Description: Mira, being an avid reader, had not let the restrictive atmosphere of her gloomy orphanage oppress her desires. In her little attic hideout, she had scavenged a large, ornate, forgotten bookcase from behind a blue tarp, and whiled away her afternoons reading. It was a welcome escape from the sombre place that lay just downstairs. Soon, she had devoured all the books on the shelf. One of her favourites was "The Return of the King", her most beloved out of the whole "Lord of the Rings" trilogy. Enchanted by the tales of courageous men, hobbits and elves and dwarfs, she named the owl that had accompanied her on these literary journeys Eowyn, after the brave, valiant Lady of the Rohirrim that had dared to challenge the Witch-King of Angmar, Lord of the frightful Nazgul. Her owl indeed bears a slight semblance to the noble shieldmaiden. A common barn owl, Eowyn's face and underbelly are white, and a golden-tinted patch of feathers blazing down her back. Eowyn is a strange little owl, full of her own little idiosyncrasies, but intensely loyal to Mira. As a starving young owl living in the dusty room, Mira had brought her tidbits of food to eat, as the mice had all fled from the ravenous bird. As a reward for her kindness, Eowyn has become Mira's faithful pet and companion. Mira has found solace in her hours in the attic, with Eowyn, and the two have become the best of friends.
Other: Mira is a Seer. She is not quite fully aware of this. She has also suffered severe epilepsy and seizures since the fatal car crash, as a result of head trauma.
SASHA Name: Sasha Evangeline McLaughlin
Gender: Female
Blood: Pure-Blood
Age: 14
» Birthday: November 30
House: Slytherin
» Year: 4
» Quidditch: N/A
» Position: Student
Wand:
» Wood: Ash
» Core: Dragon Heartstring
» Length: 11 Inches
» Flexibility: Pliable
» Description: Sasha's wand is a pale shade of cream, as ash is a pale wood. It is of pliable flexibility and is made of dragon heartstring and ash-wood, with a length of eleven inches. Dragon heartstring is one of the easiest cores to be converted to the dark arts, but Sasha has never thought of converting to the dark arts and doesn't want to. There are intricate designs coming up to the middle of the wand. The designs are like vines twining all around the shaft, and it looks almost as if they are strangling the wand. It's an ironic design considering that Sasha's personality is almost too overwhelming for people to handle, therefore almost suffocating people. Sasha's demanding and stubborn personality suits this wand very well, as ash-wood is suited for stubborn beings. Though ash wands are not suited for arrogant people, Sasha's wand is still ash. She isn't very arrogant though, she only has an 'I'm better than you' vibe, but she isn't openly arrogant, so this may be the reason.
Appearance:

Description: Sasha is a cold, manipulative girl with a very stubborn quality to her. The ice cold look in her eyes practically freezes younger students, and a few older, in their tracks. She and her sister have almost polar opposite personalities. While Dalia is an antisocial introvert, Sasha is a very popular girl with a huge social life. She is often the center of attention and being a Slytherin, she is cunning and sly. Sasha smirks more than she smiles, and has similar features to her older sister, except her eyes are deep brown instead of blue. Their hair is exactly the same colour, and their features are extremely similar so it's obvious that they're siblings. Sasha hates her freckles so she uses concealing magic and a few makeup tricks to make them less noticeable. She is not very tall, which is another difference between the sisters. Sasha is actually quite petite, standing at five foot three and a half inches. Her hair is dead straight and falls only to her shoulders, and because of how boring she finds it, she often curls her hair. Sasha has a flashy sense of style, opting for lots of patterns. She is never seen wearing plain clothing when she's not wearing robes, and when she is in her uniform, she adds some colour by wearing bright earrings or lipstick. Sasha loves lip gloss. She has about a billion different types and a new one in her school bag everyday. Despite the boldness of her fashion taste, it is still very stylish and quite girly. Sasha is also highly intelligent and gets very good grades. She doesn't like reading unless it's for school, though she does enjoy music very much.
Background: Born on a chilly November evening, two years after her older sister, she was welcomed with joy to the McLaughlin family. In their early years, it wasn't obvious that they would turn out to be such opposites. As they started to get older, maybe when Adalia was seven and Sasha was five, that was when things started to change. It happened at dinner, when Dalia said something about how she wanted to play with the muggle family living next door. Her parents forbid it of course, and explained how they believed they were better than them. Sasha remembers watching as Dalia stated her own, completely opposite opinion. Sasha soon became the favourite daughter and Dalia was set aside like an old toy. Sasha liked all the attention but at the same time felt bad for her big sister. Getting attention won in the end, and soon her big sister faded into the shadows at the back of her mind. Sure, they still loved each other, but they just didn't... like each other. It was a requirement to love family, but that didn't mean you had to get on well. Her parents spoiled her, but it didn't go to her head much, so she's still somewhat grounded. When Sasha arrived at Hogwarts and was sorted into Slytherin, her parents were thrilled that they had at least one child in the family house. Sasha became extremely popular and has maintained that reputation ever since.

Pet: Owl
» Name: Iggy
» Gender: Male
» Age: 4
» Appearance:

» Description: Iggy is a snowy owl that Sasha got while shopping for her supplies in Diagon Alley before her first year at Hogwarts. She fell in love with his fluffy white feathers and firm, knowing eyes. They have formed a close bond over the years, and Iggy and Sasha are like best friends. She isn't quite sure why she named him Iggy, the name just sort of popped into her head randomly. He has a certain fondness for rats, and one time when Sasha was so flustered she forgot to lock his cage, he went loose in the castle and Sasha found him eating a mouse in an empty hallway.
Other: She is horrible with time management and organization, and is a notorious procrastinator. While her older sister is obsessively clean, Sasha is actually quite messy. She has a beautiful singing voice, and is also trained in classical piano like Adalia, but is not as experienced yet. Sasha can speak with her mouth closed, which she finds rather amusing, and is double jointed in some fingers (she can bend them backwards unnaturally low). Her first kiss was accidental, she was pushed into boy in first year and their lips touched for a moment.

Apple wood wands are not made in great numbers. They are powerful and best suited to an owner of high aims and ideals, It is said that the possessor of an apple wand will be well-loved and long-lived, and I have often noticed that customers of great personal charm find their perfect match in an apple wood wand. An unusual ability to converse with other magical beings in their native tongues is often found among apple wand owners, who include the celebrated author of Merpeople: A Comprehensive Guide to Their Language and Customs, Dylan Marwood. her wand is a gorgeous light pinkish wood with a ruby at the beautifully carved hilt. the carvings have gold poured into them that moves when she casts spells and the ruby glows. it was the first wand she tried at olivanders and released gold sparks.

Name: Nikolaos Ambrosios Shachor Zosimos
Gender: Male
Blood: Pure-Blood
Age: 94
» Birthday: January 9
Position: Headmaster
House: Ravenclaw
Wand:
» Wood: Walnut
» Core: Dragon Heartstring
» Length: 13 Inches
» Flexibility: Reasonably Springy
» Description: Nikos's wand is a handsome, dark brown color with a smooth finish worn from years of use. It is plain and unadorned, except for two small rings scored about five and a half inches from the base, designating a handle. The wand is relatively willing to change and adapt, and learns more quickly than most wands, despite the occasional temper-tantrum. It is a powerful tool, rightfully paired up with a powerful man. It prefers to perform powerful, flamboyant spells over domestic tasks. It was the fourth wand young Nikos tried at the wand shop in preparation for his first year at Hogwarts. The wand chose him for his high level of intelligence, ability to change, and vast potential. With rare exception, it will perform any task put upon it by Nikos.
Description: Nikos is rather tall, about 6'3", and is mostly skin, bones, and wiry muscle. For a man of his age, he is remarkably spry. Of course, that same fire that seems to fill his every step shines equally brilliantly through his eyes of a dark indigo color, much like that of the sky at twilight, right as the sun has slipped from the sky. His black hair turned a dark silver long ago, though it still retains a few black streaks here and there. He wears his hear in long waves that fall a few inches over his shoulders, along with a full, similarly-colored beard (though no mustache). A bird-like nose extends sharply from his face, accenting the harsh lines of his brow and cheek bones. Thin lips of a dark, musky pink generally hold pinched together, only rarely parting to let eloquent, intelligible speech pass. His voice is mid-ranged, potentially edging on the low side, and holds a certain metallic quality. His leathery skin is a tanned, olive color only starting to spot from age. He carries himself with pride and grace, never failing to look the part of someone in charge. Nikos himself is a man of little words, and has limited patience for those who like to hear themselves talk. He discourages vain tendencies, though he places a high value on intelligence, a thing he has an abundance of. A man who some might call strict or harsh, he does have a certain soft spot in his heart for the brainy Ravenclaws and ever-loyal Hufflepuffs. A Ravenclaw himself, he has never forgotten that the Sorting Hat did consider placing him in Hufflepuff, due to the manner in which he remains so fiercely loyal to those few he calls 'friends.' However, he is extraordinarily intelligent, innovative, and versatile, and remains confident that the Hat did put him in the right place.
Background: Nikos grew up in the home of a modest, magical couple. He had a fairly ordinary childhood; he was identified as having magical ability at a young age and come his eleventh birthday, he got the customary letter from Hogwarts. When he first walked into Hogwarts, he had no idea the things he would achieve. As an only child and not the most outgoing of people, he initially struggled to make friends. Fortunately, a Hufflepuff a year ahead of him, named Clara Doolittle, took him under his wing after the Christmas break his first year, and throughout the next years, became the closest friend Nikos would ever have. Nikos excelled in school (though he never became quite the quidditch player), and graduated with some of the best test scores Hogwarts had seen in years. At this point, Clara was an Auror working for the Ministry, and upon invitation, Nikos leaped at the chance to join her. They worked together for a number of years before Nikos realized the feelings he had for her. At that time, she was seeing someone, leaving him nothing to do but wait. It ended badly, and he was her rock, her shoulder to cry on. He made no move, fearing rejection, but slowly the mutual attraction blossomed into an innocent love. Just as things started to move in the young couple's favor, tragedy struck. During a usual assignment, Clara was killed, leaving Nikos devastated. Heart wounded, he returned to the thing he next-best knew: Hogwarts. A teaching position had just opened up, Transfiguration, and he gladly accepted the job, desperate for any distraction. Over time, he became the Head of Ravenclaw, Deputy Headmaster, and eventually Headmaster, where he has spent the past number of years, devoting himself to the school that made him who he is today.

Pet: Kneazle
» Name: Hibbelle
» Gender: Female
» Age: 39
» Description: While Hibbelle looks much like a cat, she is far from it. She has light brown fur flecked with black, large ears, and a lightly plumed tail similar to that of a lion. Much like Nikos, she is both extremely intelligent and independent. At times, she can be quite aggressive, particularly towards small children who make the mistake of trying to touch her. She is very attached to Nikos, who affectionately refers to her as his 'little Hufflepuff'. They have been companions for a very long time, and seem to have an uncanny way of communication with one another. They are both very fond of each other and watch out for the other one.
Other: Nikos' patronus is an eagle, as was Clara's. He never speaks of Clara.
