I'm hoping to read 39 Steps in the next fortnight. There's a theatre show of it in London's West End that my son bought tickets for, as a Christmas present for my wife and myself. I need to read it before 8th Feb!

Here's my first read for the challenge, which I'll review here and on my blog later:Cauldstane by Linda Gillard
I love cats and flowers. I'm Carolyn. I noticed the cute black & white cat portrait before. Welcome, from central Canada!
Finished 2 more books Hell of a Journey: On Foot Through the Scottish Highlands in Winter by Mike Cawthorne
One Sweet Moment by Maggie Craig
My reviews on my blog
Don't you just love the name Maggie Craig? I've never heard of her but it makes you wonder if given names are THIS Scottish or if it's a pseudonym. hehe Carolyn.
The Forever Girl by Alexander McCall Smith 5 stars. As a Janeite, I'm looking to his version of "Emma" as part of the HarperCollins series. Also, the next HarperCollins modern Jane Austen book is Northanger Abbey by Val McDermid, which I understand is mostly set in Scotland!https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1...
Also just read "The Clans and Tartans of Scotland" by Robert Bain.
I own "Emma" but have filled my cup with several Canadian classics of late. If the Austen I have fit the Scottish bill I would move it up the queue to this year. I crave a good dose of my ethereal mainstays, before diving back into criteria for challenges. Ghosts, witches, I'm in need of something mystical! ;)

I haven't been posting on here - so this is a catch up!
the Beauty Bride by Claire DeLa Croix
Down London Road
all by Samantha Young
that makes 8 so I moving up to The Hebridean: 9-12 books.

Good for moving up! Much easier to do than you first thought, huh? You don't have to post on both here and the blog, JoAnne, but its okay if you do!

Thanks partly to stories of Sorche Nic Leodhas(many thanks to the person who suggested them), and some shorter things etc........hello Ben Nevis!!!!!! Don't know if a double Ben Nevis is possible but certainly Ben Nevis plus maybe one of the mid-levels is possible.

NATURAL CAUSES by James Oswald
THE SEA DETECTIVE by Mark Douglas-Home
BLOOD CITY by Douglas Skelton (eBook)
OLD DOGS by Donna Moore
I enjoyed them all!

Welcome, Charlena! Great book too. I loved it!
Read
by Muriel Spark. Wonderful! Reached my challenge of 5, but may squeak a bit more in. Are we doing this in 2015 -I hope?
I've been busy writing but squeezed this one in. Don't know if I'm going to manage to finish my upgrade to The Highlander, but you never know. The Woman Who Walked into the Sea (Sea Detective)
Mark Douglas-Home
I really enjoyed the first book in this series, 'The Sea Detective', so I was keen to read this one. I enjoyed it, but I felt this one wasn't quite as good, so I was a little disappointed. But still a good read.

Finished Kate Atkinson's One Good Turn. Didn't think I was going to enjoy it after first few chapters but in the end I did enjoy it, but it didn't blow me away. There was just too many coincidences in it to make it real for me.That's me up to 6.
I am re-upping for 2015. Staying at same challenge. Really enjoy this group and ,challenge. Thanks all.
