I second Zombies! (Although I am not sure if I'll have time do participate in this group reading discussion. I've been wanting to, but I end up with too many books in queue. I'm hoping to be clear in December, but if not then I'll cross my fingers for January...)

I have a lot of Indie Zombie Books (wow, that's a mouthful!)that I haven't read yet on my Ipad. Anyone of them would be great. Actually, believe it or not, I only ever read 2 or maybe 3 zombie books in my life so the chances that someone chooses one that I haven't read are very good. :P
Steph, lucky for you GG has some in mind, or I'd have to beat you with the Pointy Stick of Doom.
So, we've got:
Zombies
Any others in mind?
Incidentally, non-typical/epic fantasy can also slot into this vote, so if you've got urban fantasy or historical fantasy or suchlike you can propose that genre. Epic fantasy belongs in the Fantasy Book of the Month category.

Any story that takes a classic fairy tale and tells it in a new way. Robin McKinley is pretty known for that, doing Beauty & the Beast twice, in fact: "Beauty" and "Rose Daughter."

And nice to meet you, Ben.
Remember, kids, we've got a few more days to go so if you want something added to the list do mention it.

hmm...zombie lore...do zombie's create lore...I almost think there needs to be a book done like that...

I wouldn't have thought of Corpse Bride...I guess that would be zombie fairy tale :)
Can I put in a good word for the un-undead...specifically those from the eloquent and romantic Regency period? Yes, I know in real-life they're dead, but not in story-line :)
The poll is up! Get voting, or you may miss out on your preferred re-telling of a zombie regency romance:

Voting ends on 1 December, so if you're sitting on the fence, please do remove the splinters from your posterior and vote to help us pick one way or the other.
Ok, that was a dead heat. I've removed the third option and will run it as a tie-breaker. If it's a dead heat again I'll just toss a coin. So, please do vote again:

Darrr. That would've been a good idea. If there's another two-way tie I'll see about doing that in the future.

Any nominations are welcome but I would ask that anyone proposing (and preferably seconding) a genre has at least one independent book in that genre in mind. Any genre must be seconded to be included on the poll.
In addition, a reminder that a genre (or book, subsequently) that wins because of brand new members who have done nothing but join and vote or 'sleeper' members who are similar but have been around a little longer may be disqualified.
If we get a category that has but a single book nominated then obviously we'll go with that. If we get more than one we'll have a vote.
The poll will begin on the 25th of this month.
The poll for the book selection, if there is one, will occur after the Fantasy Book of the Month vote.
