For some reason, hard for me to remember right now, but we do get further insight into this. Maybe it is in one of the other books. But you should read my review. Caleb had me so mad in this book and I didn't get why everyone was all over Olivia. I get they are both do crazy stuff but he was definitely not an angel.

Rana - You get the full story in Caleb's book "Thief."In the Opportunist I wanted to gut Caleb with my shoe, but when reading "Thief" you see what really was going on.
HTH
I liked all three in the series.
I'm currently onto Dirty Red - Leah is a bitch! LOL. She did ask him in the beginning if he'd cheated on Olivia and he'd said, "yes and no." I'm so intrigued! Can't wait for book three :)
paulette you have to keep going. you get the full story in thief. i hate leah and i could not get passed my hate for her in dirty red. in this book everyone is evil even olivia for all she did. but i fricken love it its my favorite series aside from thoughtless. enjoy the ride! it gets bumpier from here :)
Frannie, I have read them all and I completely agree with you. I did love this series. When I was replying to Rana's thoughts I tried to keep my mindset to the Opportunist only and in that book I could not stand Caleb, he made me so angry. I would have to say Thief, the last was my favorite. Since I hated Leah so much I wasn't sure I would be able to stomach the book but I was so glad I read it too!! Agree this was a great series, and I LOVED Thoughtless too!!
stubborn Caleb and Oliver, missed so many changes together, we all made decision, some are good and some are worse, we need to face the consequences..it so sad that Caleb and Oliver may not have their own child...

UGH
i still cant re read big red. its too much! ive never been so passionately angry with a character lol

I KNOW!! omg i still cant believe it, seriously olivia will always thing she is damaged (cuz this is real you know) poor girl i just want to hug her haha
You must read Thief to know Caleb's version of this particular scene. One thing that this series reminded me is that truth is relative. We all have different versions of the truth. We may see the same thing but interpret it differently. Keep in mind that this is Olivia's point of view. :-)

You'll understand when you finish the trilogy
Keep reading the rest of the series! It will put you in complete emotional turmoil... but it's worth it!
i just finished the first book yesterday and have started the second book. so far my opinion of leah hasnt changed and as much as i enjoyed the book i cant help but be annoyed with both olivia and caleb for all of their mind games . i assume caleb was sexually frustrated, but at the same time it was stupid of him to cheat if he was so in love and olivia's actions following catching him made me scream omg! then the whole playing each other when they were reunited later on - at first i thought it was just that caleb was remembering but then i sort of caught on about what was really going on with him and it was so obvious to me that if only they had both been honest about their feelings then, they probably could have saved each other a whole lot of heartache and maybe would have ended up together but instead she ran away yet again. anyhow i really enjoyed this book and cant wait to keep on reading the rest of the series to see what happens.
Robin wrote: " i assume caleb was sexually frustrated, but at the same time it was stupid of him to cheat if he was so in love and olivia's actions following catching him made me scream omg!.."Keep reading.... Caleb might surprise you. ;)
But after finishing the series (which I loved) they could have spared so much heartache if they just talked.
dont worry i intend to keep going and i am already about 100 pages into the 2nd book. i hope so because otherwise he seems pretty cool and a lot deeper than just a dumb jock. i cant wait to see what else happens! :)
I just finished the book and I was thinking the same thing. He cheated first and she ran out and they were broken up. Yeah if she wanted to work things out she shouldn't have done that but it doesn't make what she did so bad. I guess maybe she also meant the part about taking his old girlfriend for an abortion? Although she acts like she made that girl do it when the girl already had the appointment and just wanted her to drive her. It was messed up that she let the secret out but she didn't make the girl do it. Then Caleb also lied about having amnesia!??!?!?! So Caleb is just as bad as Olivia yet Olivia kept putting Caleb on a pedestal like he was some great guy. Then at the end when she is in Rome telling him how she feels and he says he feels the same way yet he married Leah and decided to stay with her instead of going back to Olivia. Honestly the whole thing gave me a migraine. I don't know if I can get through Thief. Maybe someone can give me some spoilers about what happens.

you need to keep reading definitely! i felt the same way after reading the first book, but everything will be explained and what you think you thought may not be right. so it may be frustrating right now, but the whole series was actually really good. i enjoyed it a lot.

Trust me trust me truuuusttt mee! Just put the time in to read it because it will BLOW. YOUR. MIND. There is a reason for everything that was said/done throughout their entire past. It's just so worth it!

I know I'm in the minority here. But I feel sometimes an author can cause too much pain and devastation to characters, so by the time they get their "HEA" it wasn't worth the emotional beating you and them have to go through to get it. Like I said I'm in the minority about my feelings on this series. That is just my opinion.

I liked Beautiful Disaster and other books with disastrous couples. But this one just seemed too much! And now I kind of like Olivia and Noah. Even though I wanted Olivia and Caleb to finally get their happy ending I feel like The Opportunist ended well and that Olivia and Caleb going through a whole other book of torture isn't even worth them getting together. I'll have to think on this! LOL

Just a little open communication would have gone a long way and all the years wasted was just so sad.
But this book was great because it was unlike other books I had been reading and you really have to be in an angsty book reading mood to survive this series. LOL
Okay so I couldn't help myself and I read Thief! I am actually happy I did. It wasn't quite as awful and torturous as I expected. I mean of course there was drama. I wasn't sure how I wanted it to work out but I think it did all work out well or how it was supposed to. Yes if they had talked things should have worked out all along but life and feelings happen so it was okay I guess. (view spoiler)
Soo,I had plenty of book boyfriends before Caleb Drake but he went straight to the top(along with Gavin Blake, but that's another story-Ha).I absolutely love him and the series!

I've literally just finished reading this book, and I have absolutely NO idea how to make of it. The one thing that is stopping me desperately from making my mind is that Caleb had originally cheated on Olivia. Why in God's name did she become the antagonist for going out after enduring that horrible revelation and doing something without thought (losing her virginity). I feel so upset because they'd been getting ready to go away on a romantic trip and she was going to give him herself. Then inexplicably he stands her up and she catches him cheating. She kept glazing over it too afterwards, as if what she did was so much worse. WTF? Am I the only one scratching my head? Or was there something I missed?
