Foxfier | 10 comments I greatly enjoyed the Daring Finds books, and it got me back on an Agatha Christie kick...but I don't know what else to try. I've grabbed a half-dozen books that looked OK, only to have them be someone's political dumping box. (...how dumb must you be to be unaware of what goose liver pate is?)

Emily | 16 comments Try the Miss Seeton series. They are an older series.

Have you read Dorothy L. Sayers's Lord Peter Wimsey books?

Yeah, but I would really recommend reading them in order because of the way his character develops throughout.

Which would put those two dead last. 0:)

Foxfier | 10 comments Well, #1 result was "the complete collected Lord Peter Wimsey stories" so I think I'm covered....

Ownedbycats | 2 comments If you are looking for something more modern, you might try Donna Andrews' mysteries, They mostly ignore politics, except of the university sort(who will get hired for tenure, etc). In the one series, every title has something to do with birds so "Owls Well That Ends Well", "Murder with Peacocks", etc.

I have got to get those in e-format. It's been years since I read them so I know I'll enjoy renewing my acquaintance.

Bearcat | 16 comments It's been years since I read any, but a warning about the Miss Seeton books. They were written by several different authors, so some are better than others. To be honest other than the Daring Finds books I haven't read any regular mysteries in years. I have read several of the J.D. Robb books lately, but they are so steeped in liberal politics that the only way I can read them is as satirical, almost 1984ish.
