So... has anyone in the group read Ferney, by James Long?

No, but I'm sure it's been recommended to me before
It's possible I mentioned it. I think it's a time-travel/time-slip love story. It was recommended to me on that basis, so I bought it on Kindle only to be told that it's the type of book you should read as a proper paper book (though I don't know why). Anyway, I found it in Barnardo's for 99p, so I'll have to get to it soon... I'll share it after I'm done.
I think you're right, it may have been your recommendation.
I'd obviously say all books are better on paper, but maybe this is one where you need to go backwards and forwards as you read? There's a Spanish novel called (in translation) Hopscotch which apparently does that. I've been looking out for it for years, unsuccessfully.
