Gospel of Matthew

I think a thorough introduction to all of the Gospels as overview and some detail can be found in some of the chapters in Craig Blomberg's book entitled Jesus and the Gospels.
I don't know if you want a full on commentary, but if you're interested, Tim Challies has been posting some of what he considers the best commentaries on each book of the Bible, including Matthew.

Along with that, I am attempting to connect the smaller parts to one another. In other words, I am asking: "What thought is driving this text?"
That said, would any of you have a recommendation for a book that helps point out these things?
Thank you,
Alex
