Joyland discussion

I saw the movie is coming out in 2015 and just wondering if anyone had any casting preferences. Here are mine

Dev- Zac Efron/Daniel Radcliffe
Erin- Emma Watson/AnnaSophia Robb
Tom- Can't think of anyone specific
Lane- Ryan Gosling
Annie- Reese Witherspoon
MIke- an unknown

Obviously I wouldn't put Emma Watson and Radcliffe together because that would be too weird.

I definitely have Jesse Eisenberg pictured as Devin. I could see Emma Watson as Erin. How bout Zooey Deschanel as Annie?

Miles Teller from The Sepctacular Now, or Logan Lerman from Perks of Being a Wallflower as Dev. Emma Watson would be a great Erin!

I am so excited to hear that this will be a movie. I thought it should be one as I was reading the book!

I did too. But it was a rather obvious pick once I remembered his role in the movie "Adventureland" where he played a college grad who takes a summer job at an amusement park!

Partly for the publicity it would generate I would have loved to see Kyra Sedgwick cast as Annie and Kevin Bacon case at Lane Hardy. I know these actors are older than those mentioned but they each have the acting skills to make those characters sing and both of those characters are supposed to be noticeably older than the protagonist. Plus, Kevin Bacon looks carny. Me, I want to play Madame Fortuna!

I like the book, I would not mind of never getting this book turned into a movie as so many King movies are pretty poor.

meh for jesse eisenberg as devin. he was already in adventureland... i would like miles teller as devin like someone else pointed out or josh hutcherson could be good, but maybe a little short. nicholas hoult would also be good. bonnie wright for erin? alan arkin as mr easterbrook. maybe michelle williams as annie?

Sam Rockwell also played a guy at an amusement park (water park however) in the The Way Way Back recently!

I've just got one thing to say about all this....there cannot be anyone for Devin except EVAN PETERS!!! He has been in 4 seasons of American Horror Story. He fits the profile PERFECTLY. And he is rapidly expanding into the movie business.

I thought James Franco would be great as Lane.

Carol Kane as "Madame Fortuna", mainly because she reminded me of Oswald Cobblepot's mother in Gotham.

Franco as Lane was someone I had thought about too, although I picture someone a little smaller than Devin.

Younger Felicia Day as Erin.

Robert Picardo as Fred Dean

Dick Van Dyke or Alan Alda as Mr. Easterbrook.

i thought, for me the cast would be perfect with:

Devin: Zac Efron
Erin: Emma Watson
Tom: Jonah Hill
Lane: Ryan Gosling/James Franco
Madame Fortuna: Sofia Vergara
E. Shoplaw: Meryl Streep
Easterbrook: Ian mckellen
Fred Dean: Kevin Spacey
Mike: Jackson Millarker
Annie: Cobie Smulders
(my opinion) this is the best cast that the production could take.
