Keeping the Moon is about a girl named Colie and how she finds herself in a way she never thought she would before. Colie's mother is an international fitness trainor and has to go to Europe over the summer. This meant Colie was left to go to her Aunt Mira's house for the summer. When Colie arrives at Mira's house she expects to have the worst time of her life, she expects everything to be awful and torturous. That however is not the case. Colie begins her journey with a hippie picking her up from a train station and immediatly giving her a bad vibe about this summer. When she gets to Mira's house she realizes her aunt isn't afraid to be herself and is a little taken back by how unique she is. After a little getting to know everything a little bit better she begins to have fun and everything falls into play. She lands a job at a local cafe called the Last Chance, she realizes that the hippie she was sceptical bout is really an mazing friend and she meets more friends that help her to discover what true beauty is. Keeping the Moon is the first Sarah Dessen book I have read and all I can say is good things about it. Sarah Dessen is a fictional author but writes about the real world. Everything she writes about could truely happen to anyone. She ia a great author and this boopk was a great book! If anyone is questioning about reading this book I would say go for it!
