Darwin never recanted but he was never threatened with torture.

-It still moves.

Darwin is dead, let him rest. Science or reason is forever moving on into the future.

Rich Goscicki | 54 comments One of my essays in my book deals with the evolutionary synthesis of the twenties when genetics was discovered and Darwinism proven. Science now understood the mechanism of heredity which Darwin never figured out. One geneticist, Theodosius Dobzhansky said any book about religion or philosophy written before 1859 should be discarded.

Most scientists at the time believed religion was at last moribund, but superstition proved more stubborn because infected fanatics didn't use reason and logic to arrive at their belief system. Same thing with Richard Dawkins' The Selfish Gene in 1976. The renowned author thought religion would begin finally to roll back but it persists even into the new century.

Pot Stories and Humanist Essays

Don't be misled by the title. The story is about how cannabis enhances our appreciation of the arts rather than stories about squalid crack houses.
