"Listen, like I told your captain, that orphanage attacked ME."
Looking for Group is interesting. At the beginning, it's a hilarious send up of gaming's "morality structure" set in a World of Warcraft inspired universe filled with dark comedy and madcap twist. And Richard was a riot.
The further it goes and the more the "core" story forms and takes over the less interesting it became to me and the less the humor that was left worked. And Richard is still a riot, but much less consistently and frequently. I still check it now and then, but it's been a long time since it was at it's best.
I still find the early strips incredibly amusing though.
"I was just going to look. With fire."

Here are a few discussion questions for everyone to think about (Please remember to use spoiler tags as appropriate to your answer, even if the question didn't contain spoilers. Thanks!):
1) What's your favorite part of the comic? Least favorite?
2) Do you prefer the comedy or more dramatic elements?
3) How do you like the art? Does it enhance the story being told? How effective is the artist in using the style?
4) Who is your favorite character? Least favorite?
We have an interesting batch of comics this month that are all comedic at the core with an underlying connecting story of various levels of seriousness and are all somewhat ensemble in nature, but have very different art styles and approaches. So I'm starting us with the same discussion questions in all three.

1) Favorite - the humor when it's contextual to the comic's world (especially the rifts on good/evil gaming conventions). Like it less when it devolves into constant pop culture references. Least favorite - the overarching plot. It's more drawn out than it needs to be and hasn't been very interesting.
2) see #1.
3) I I actually don't really notice the art once in this comic. That's not necessarily a bad thing - the fact that it doesn't draw attention to itself means it's not bad and is doing it's job. I just don't find it particularly spectacular or memorable.
4) Richard by far, although a little goes a long way some times. Sadly Benny has become my least favorite. The reasoning behind the strain in her relationship with Cale seems so forced it's made me tired of everyone and everything involved.
