Maybe I need to be corrected. I thought a book editor would read the draft and say "huh?" when they see a mistake or just a bad sentence. Have been reading a lot of well known and highly regarded authors recently and doing just that "huh?" a lot more than I expect. Not a writer myself and far from the greatest grammarian (sp) so I don't think I should see so much that should have been fixed before I see the book. Or am I just too picky? I have been told that I take the fun out of everything at our book club by bringing these things up at meetings.

Love your analogy. It does make me appreciate Willa Cather to Truman Capote, who if they made mistakes, never made me jump. Speaking of bad sentences, but then on one pays me to write good ones.

Barbara | 1 comments I've noticed spelling errors quite frequently. That always surprises me since they surely must have spell-check. (I just corrected that last word because spell-check told me to add a hyphen.)
