Rachel (APCB Reviews) (gr8rach) What do you think of love triangles? Which love triangles are the best?

message 2: by Crystal (new)

Crystal (cgk22) I tend to like them. Usually the ones that shouldn't be are the best. Take The Vincent Boys for example. If you haven't read it, totally recommend. I was a little skeptical at first with the whole cheating thing but it was a great read.

I don't like love triangles :/
I've read the Vincent Boys… although it wasn't too much of a triangle since she knew she didn't love the guy she was originally with, so no choosing had to go on (I forgot all their names)

Tia Jenkins (tia_jenkins) This thread was made 6 days ago?! Oh wow! I didn't even realize this was made....

I don't like love triangles if they're unnecessary. Some are okay but others shouldn't be included.

I like some love triangles. I hate when I can clearly see who the main character will end up with though

Elysha | 73 comments i usually tend to like love triangles, one of my favourites is the Will/Tessa/Jem one from the Infernal Devices, you couldnt decide which guy you wanted her to end up with.

Teenage Reads (teenagereads) | 23 comments I like love triangles, but seems like it's just happening in all the popular books. Twilight had one, then Hunger Games. I think we need a good balance between love triangles, and just love.

Maren K (mkgunning) | 1 comments I want to hate the unoriginality of them, but honestly, when I'm in the middle of reading one I absolutely adore it. Sorry not sorry :))

Erica (hmserica) I HATE H-A-T-E love triangles. It just fills the book with heavy drama and makes the herione ( Usually a stupid, no good rotten girl) look like a huge pessimic jerk. I'm so against cheating, deception whatever you wanna call it. Even in real life if I were friends with someone id seriously check them if I found out they were seeing two people at once. Its mean, wrong, heartbreaking, and just shows how karma can come back to bite you in waza. Please don't do it, DONT cheat on someone who really loves you PLEASE!!! its like cheating on your SAT or your college final, what do you get when you cheat? Nothing but a bad record and a huge ZERO.

S. Cameron (sellecameron) | 4 comments I usually enjoy a good love triangle but it has to be done tastefully. It's a major factor in a lot of young adult books lately. I've actually included one in my first novel, A Tragic Heart but made sure it wasn't the only thing that fueled the plot. There has to be more to a book rather than the theme of a love triangle, in my opinion. Overall, I tend to enjoy them as most people already stated.

I do enjoy love triangles if they're written well and are balanced... They have become a bit common in YA of late though and I've found myself getting a bit sick of them

Gayatri Balasubramanian | 6 comments No. Just no. Love triangles are horrible, unless written well. And it is seldom written well. Most of the time, authors just put it in to add extra dram and add meaningless and shallow interactions in. I thought the The Hunger Games love triangle was written realistically though.

Kristie Mostly I despise them. Well, except for the TID one

Bella Alcott | 10 comments It depends on how well it is written. I normally hate love triangles since it is really common for them to pop up in different YA books, since it seems like all of the popular books have them. If it really is unnecessary to the plot, not written well, or it's basically the entire series, sometimes it will be all that is takes for me to stop reading that book. However, sometimes a love triangle adds depth to the characters and goes along with the plot, and if it is written really good, then I will love it. My all time favorite is Will/Tessa/Jem from the Infernal Devices since instead of the regular "oh I hate you" they are all really close friends that would do anything for each other and that's what made it so excellent.
