Avalynn wandered through the streets of the Bazar, exammining absolutely everything with unusual interest. Her bow was across her back, causing many to stare at it and her, though she hardly seemed to notice. Every once in a while when someone wasn't paying attention she would swipe something small and disappear around a corner, putting whatever it was in a small pouch to mess with later.
Frowning at a strange pale woman wandering around the Bazar, the area of which she knew very well"You know stealing is punishable by death." Amunet said only loud enough for the woman to hear. Pulling the red silk close around her face and nodding politely at another passerby she made eye contact with the thief, hopefully looking intimidating.
Avalynn jumped slightly at the voice, turning to look at someone she hadn't seen just a moment ago. "It's very little, I doubt they will notice. Besides, I won't need it for long, and if later I can find them again it'll get put back." She usually didn't need anything she took, and though most of the time she forgot to ever return anything to it's rightful owner before forgetting who she stole it from to begin with, she wasn't about to say that to this person.
Amunet shook her head "It will get noticed here, the gods are always watching." She stood at her full height, which had to be at least six inches shorter than this woman. She stuck her hand out, palm up, trying to get the girl to give the item back to the vendor.
"I did say I would put it back eventually." Avalynn said, ignoring the hand. "What is it anyway?" She asked, pulling out the small amulet and hilding it in front of her face, studying every detail.
"It's a token, the symbol for life." Amunet shrugged "Some say it is the key of life, most people keep one with them at all times." She traced the outside edge of the amulet with her finger and explained its shape and meaning to the outsider.
"So it's a bit like Menlui..." Avalynn said quietly, comparing it to one of the Elven runes. It was the closest thing she could think of, though life was only one of the meanings of the rune.
"I have no idea." Amunet said shaking her head. "Now that you know what it is put it back, or I will be forced to inform the guards." she gestured to a man clad in armor standing nearby.
"Oh, alright." Avalynn sighed, dropping the amulet into the girl's hand. She spotted something else from the corner of her eye, and in a moment was looking at an object that had caught her attention for no reason other than it had an interesting colour. Glancing up slightly she saw that the shopkeeper was turned away, and forgetting that someone had threatened to call guards against her only a few moments ago, she slippped it into her small bag and continued walking.
"Do we really have to do this again?" Amunet asked angrily as she set the trinket down on the table while the merchant was still turned around. She followed the girl persistently, trying to make sure she caused no trouble to the nice traders, maybe she could use her against the ones who constantly cheated people out of their coin.
Avalynn stopped by another merchant, but in a second he seemed to be examining her bow very closely. He began to ask her how much it would cost to buy it off her, but she simply glared at him. "Senlui is not for sale." She said firmly, crossing her arms.
"It is rare that a woman names her weapons." Amunet said shortly, stopping at the same booth as the girl.
Avalynn turned, looking at the same girl from a moment ago. "Really? I thought every weapon had a name. You can't use it properly if you don't give it a proper title."
"I wouldn't know." Amunet answered looking away, slaves were not technically allowed to keep weapons, even ones with as much freedom as her own.
"Do you not name them here?" Avalynn asked. "Or... Do you not have them?" She was starting to confuse herself slightly, which showed on her face.
"I do not have them, I don't know if guards or warriors name them." Amunet lied, though she wasn't allowed to keep weapons she of course did, but she really had no idea if people names their weapons.
"Oh." Avalynn said quietly. "Everyone should have a weapon, it would be dangerous to be caught alone in a bad place without one. I've got two actually, Senlui here, and," she reached behind her, pulling a silver shortsword a couple inches out of a hidden sheath. "Charoi." She introduced each of her weapons almost as if they were people, and in fact she was very attatched to them.
"People of my rank need not weapons, we are protected by those around us." Amunet said, sounding almost as if she had recited the sentence.
Avalynn shrugged, letting the sword fall back into place. "I suppose, but it wouldn't hurt to keep something just in case."
"And I probably would, if it weren't against the law. I, unlike some, follow the law of the land." Amunet retorted glaring at the woman with her odd red eyes.
Avalynn blinked, wondering why it would be against the law though she didn't question further about it. "Well it would be easier to follow if I knew it. Certian things are very different."
"You could learn." Amunet said with a smile in her voice. "Many here are willing to teach our customs, if you are willing to learn." She didn't sound so annoyed or angry anymore, the woman was an outsider but no one could object to her being here if she knew and followed the law.
"Actually, there seems to be less than you think." Avalynn said, scratching one of her pointed ears.
"Well then, I'll help. Just so you don't get into trouble, they don't treat trouble-makers well here." Amunet shrugged, she might learn a bit from this girl too.
"Well your welcome then." Amunet said quietly, turning to pay for a basket of fruit from a vendor, a local one that didn't charge too much.
Avalynn waved at her, turning to walk off, still examining everything she passed closely. "About that sword of yours-" the merchant who had asked her about Senlui began, though she cut him off, glaring out of the corner of her eye. "I'll use it against you if I must." The words shut him up in an instant, and the blue-haired woman continued on her way as if nothing had happened.
