I'm reading Miracle on 49th Street by Mike Lupica and The Twenty-Four Days Before Christmas by Madeleine L'Engle, which I read every December in the days leading up to Christmas Eve. I'm also reading The Captives of Kaag by Joe Dever, but that one requires an explanation. I haven't updated my status on The Captives of Kaag in almost two years; I am still reading it, but I haven't had the chance to get together with the person I read it with in some time. Sooner or later we'll get back to it.
Since my finals are over I can finally continue on with
. Eileen Cook has never failed me before so hopefully this simple read so far ends up taking off.
I read Amy and Roger's Epic Detour and fell in LOVE! Such an amazing story.Up next:
Reading any good Christmas stories Josiah?
Miracle on 34th Street by Valentine Davies has easily been the best of the ones I've read this December. The book and movie came out in the same year, 1947, and have long been classics of the holiday genre. If you ever get the chance, I'd recommend you give On Christmas Eve by Ann M. Martin a chance. Of course, I could just as readily recommend any of Ann M. Martin's standalone novels.
If Kaitlynne is reading all of those books at the same time I will fall on my knees in front of her and praise her for the reading goddess she is! I am only reading
,
, and
Ah, The Raven Boys. That's the book Maggie Stiefvater was touring to promote when I saw her at a local bookshop. I didn't get to stay for the event, since Newbery Medalist Sharon Creech was speaking at another store location that same day for The Great Unexpected, but I did walk by Maggie Stiefvater as she was leaving the store.
I am only reading one at a time or I will get mixed up,once I read like 5 books and I mixed up all the stories ;D!
That's also why I don't read more than one book at a time. I never want to lose sight of why I read, that it's to challenge and affirm and even change myself with what I'm reading, and if I read too quickly or too much to let that naturally happen, then I've let myself be led down rabbit trails. That's also a significant part of why I write an in-depth review on Goodreads of everything I read, to explain to myself what I was thinking as I read it and what the story meant to me. That way I have a permanent record of all that here on Goodreads about every book, and all I have to do to access it is go look up the title. If my reviews ever mean anything to anyone else, it's because I am so honest with myself in them that they can't help but resonate universally with certain aspects of the human experience.

I'm reading The Ask and the Answer by Patrick Ness, but I do have two Time Machine books on hold at my library, Secret of the Knights by Jim Gasperini and Sword of the Samurai by Michael Reaves, so I'm sure I'll be reading those soon. :-)
Oh gosh would you like to buddy read allegiant? If not I am never going to finish it because I got spoiled
When I finish Insurgent we can if you want :)!That would be fun :)!Did you read a spoiler for the book,I mean do you know what happens?
I heard one big part what happens at the end and that killed my vibe for wanting to read it then...How far are you into Insurgent?
Reading The Book Thief. Kinda scared of the ending because my friend already read it and whenever I have it out she takes it and whimpers over parts. Really freaked out how it's going to end.
