Delirium? Oh, I love it. It's one of the most powerful and illuminating books I've ever read. A novel like Delirium can make an author's career all by itself, as Charlotte's Web could have done for E.B. White, or Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry did for Mildred D. Taylor.

How about this book?

I haven't read Go Ask Alice, either, but it's considered something of a modern classic, albeit a controversial one.

I'm planning to read The Eye of Minds early in 2014. I had a chance to meet James Dashner in October when he was on tour for the book, but there were so many other author events I wanted to go to that month, I had to pass on it. But judging by his other books, I have every reason to believe the new trilogy will be superb.

What Hearts by Bruce Brooks is like a roller coaster ride of words. The breathless sensation of whipping up and down hills at high speeds through the whistling wind, tearing around unexpected curves in the track with overwhelming velocity...that's what it feels like to read What Hearts, or anything Bruce Brooks wrote at the top of his game. Even though he has two Newbery Honor books, I think he's one of the most under-appreciated writers of the last thirty years.

Haven't read it.
