I'm really enjoying the war. I mean, it's dead sad, but it's well written.I'm glad that LMS has been able to find some happiness in life, as his early life was greatly lacking it. I believe that his divorce was the best thing that has happened to him thus far and it's a shame it didn't happen sooner. He spends so much time saving face instead of feeling, yet calls himself a romantic.
I don't think he was ever really a writer. A journalist, for sure, but a writer? never. He never had the conviction or confidence or drive to be a true novelist.
I found the bit in Spain a little sad, especially after the police shot his guide. LMS is so lost in his world. He really needs that guide.
I feel like he's finally coming into himself now and that he is able to accept his life for what it is.
I look forward to the war being over and him being able to leave D&D alone.
Also, what about that abbreviation of his? CAUC? brilliant.
