Reserved, quirky, and introverted, Brynn isn't the type to socialize with her peers. You could say she's a bit of a wallflower, but she usually never makes the effort to show up at school dances. While quiet, Brynn should not be mistaken for shy. In fact, she will talk to just about anyone, given they're intelligent and able to hold down a conversation. While Brynn may seem like the happy-go-lucky type, she's actually very reserved. Her tone when in class is always polite and soft. However, when she is engaged in a conversation, Brynn will talk animatedly, her hands flailing wildly while making gestures.
Brynn loves comedy and loves to tell jokes. It's totally contradicting to her closed-off nature, but Brynn enjoys making people laugh. It's quite funny, really; she'll refuse to talk her peers at times but when it comes to making them chuckle, she'll never fail.
Brynn's tendency to be sadistic and pessimistic should not be mistaken for unfriendliness. She's a generally friendly individual when one proves oneself trustworthy. However, do not take her kindness for granted. If Brynn is angered, she will hold a grudge.
As a last note, it'd be wise to remember that above all, Brynn is a charmer. Her looks, voice, and all around allure makes it easy for her to manipulate whoever she wants. The talent is not used often. However, her canny ability for being able to lie impeccably well and tell whoever she's conversing with whatever they want to hear come up often.

[ history ] Brynn and her twin brother Brent were born to Geniveve and Markos Briarwood on a cold December's night. The two were loving parents but they couldn't afford much for their beloved children. However, their love was enough to keep their family together. Then, tragedy struck. The two loving parents were killed in a car accident and the two now orphans were sent to a foster home. It was like something from a horrible fairy tale. Brent and Brynn stuck together through the years, never trusting anyone but themselves. The two quickly turned of legal age and left the foster home to live life on the road.

Ren is a petite, slim young girl. She is fifteen years old, but is fully grown already, standing at 5'4". She has long light red hair, which is sometimes described as dark strawberry blonde or even auburn. Her hair is wispy, soft and slightly wavy. She has devastatingly blue, almond shaped eyes, framed by relatively short eyelashes. Ren's skin is slightly tanned, with a natural glow, and is practically free of all pimples and zits, due to her taking great care of her skin. One word that describes Ren's appearance perfectly would be delicate, as her features have a very soft cutesy look to them. Sela is defiantly the I-don't-give-a-fuck kind of person. She will say what is on her mind without thinking it through. Bold and cocky are certainly words associated with her, and she takes them with pride. High on her head, she is hard to knock down. People have tried and she laughs at their attempts and rolls her eyes. She has the traits of a warrior, never really fitting in the before world, as if she were meant to be apart of the apocalypse.
She is not selfish, though she may act like it. Sela is intelligent without a doubt and knows when to back down. Her strongest traits are her determination and persistence. She knows how to get what she wants and works hard for it. Sela will not take assistance from others, and will not admit defeat-which will be her downfall.
{Background}
First thing you would need to know about Sela is that she did not have it easy, always one problem after another. She is the younger of two kids, after her elder brother, Sam. They grew up in the Netherlands for three years before moving to America, specifically New York. At this point, no one had any idea of their fathers true motives for coming to America.
They all settled down in a house on the outskirts of New York, and everything was peaceful until training started. For fours years, Sela and Sammy were trained to be assassins. Since their mother was an Architect, she was always gone, sometimes as far away as Egypt. This left the two kids alone with their insane father.
Days were hard, but nights were worse. Raids, gangs, and blood haunted the night, and if you were lucky, nightmares took over. A seven year old child should be told not to be afraid of the dark instead of being caught by the police. It was when Selas mother came home early from an exhibition, things started changing. Though, she noticed nothing wrong, nothing would be the same. Both parents stayed out of each other's way so carefully, it was suspicious.
The real turning point was when Selas mother had an affair with Special Agent Holl: Jacob Holl. Before their father could kill the president, Holl figured him out; him and his kids. The poor children, an eight and ten years, were not punished for their fathers crime, but treated to special care. Well, for the first few years. Both kids had schooling to catch them up until she was around twelve, but luckily, she caught onto school easily because she was great at memorizing. Her brother wasn't so lucky, though, for he struggled with his studies which didn't improve when they were transferred to public school.
Right away people recognized who they were, or rather, who their father was. Parents told their children to stay away from them during after and during school. Often, they were bullied and picked on, but eventually that came to a closure when Sela threatened one of the students. For this simple statement, she was suspended from the school and forced to transfer. Of course, her brother followed, her only friend.
That was, until Simon entered her life. By then, Sam had started college and Sela was close to getting her drivers license. Now in high school, Sela felt like she finally fit into her shoes. She was always way to wise for her years, and now she felt right. Well, as right as a terrorists daughter could get and it all seemed to get better with Simon. Another oddball who didn't quite fit in, exactly the kind of friend she was looking for. So until the disease outbreak, it was Simon, Sela and Samuel. Eventually everyone had to part ways, right?

Sela knows how to handle a gun, a variety of them. She knows how to use a knife, better than any average American. Though, she only carries a handgun and kitchen knife on her. This was what she was able to grab as she fled her home and has not been able to find others. So far she has done well on her own, so she isn't worried.

{Personality}: Mercy is very stubborn and has a hard headedness and ability to attach quickly. She's easily confused and annoyed. She has a gentler side. She's able to smile a lot and talk lightly, but she's very bipolar so that can change in a second. Mercy is outgoing and is usually up for anything.
Aside from all of her confidence she's also very shy around new people. She tends to smile and laugh a lot, despite her insecurity. She has serious problems with her body and feels she's too clingy and whiny. Mercy doesn't always know how to handle situations, and on most occasions she's done the wrong thing and ruined everything. She's very awkward as well, so sometimes others feel she has two personalities; one that has an extreme amount of confidence and the other that does not.
{Background}: Until the age of 14, Mercy had basically lived in the hospital. Fortunately, yet unfortunately, it was never for her. Her mother had had breast cancer and died on December 25th, as a cruel Christmas gift to her family. Mercy was 6 then, but remembers everything from that day. She was the one next to her mother when she died, as her father and sister had been in the cafeteria. Her mother's last words are written in paint all over her things, its kind of like an obsession. People consider her crazy when they see that so she rarely hangs out with strangers, fearing that they will judge her.

When Mercy was 9, her father was driving her to her friends house, and her sister was at college so Mercy was the only other one in the car. Her father passed an intersection, but another car was already speeding in that direction. The second car hit the driver's side, and the car flipped. As the car stopped moving, she watched as her father spoke his last words to her, using his last breath to speak to her.
"Your mother would be proud... you look just like her my little red rose"
This almost killed Mercy inside. She spent the next two years in the hospital, trying to recover emotionally and physically. The doctors would pretend to be visitors so she wouldn't feel so lonely.
All through her young years she struggled with her sanity, having not yet accepted the fact that she was an orphan and that she was still in a state of stick. She developed PTSD, and her sister lied to the doctors saying she had taken therapy, which she hadn't.
At age 14 her sister died in an attack. Her insides had been eaten out by an undead. Mercy sat with her until she died, yet she was never the same again. She was forced to kill her sister before she came back and has sworn to never kill unless she is in danger.

Cate isn't one to follow the rules or listen to the restrictions set by those who consider themselves above or in charge of her. She's always looking for a way to challenge authority and make it known that she is in charge of herself. That doesn't mean she is completely unreasonable and unwilling to listen to others, it just means that if she thinks your idea is stupid she's not gonna listen.

Cate doesn't sugar coat or downplay the truth, no matter how brutal or painful it may be. She takes things as they are and she doesn't try and convince herself of anything but the truth. She doesn't see a point in lying to people to protect them, they'll find out the truth sooner than later.

If you screw with those close to her you better watch out, because there will be hell to pay. Especially when it comes to her younger brother. She protects him with everything she's got and then some.

Cate isn't one to depend on people, but she's human. Sometimes she breaks down and needs a hug or an encouraging word to get her through whatever it is that's upsetting her. Though she doesn't show this side often, so when she finds the right person that she can depend on you better believe that she's not gonna let them go.
{Background}: Cate grew up in a wealthy but dysfunctional family. Her parents were constantly at each others throats as well as hers. Though instead of taking the blame and keeping silent she shouted back. There was no way she was just going to let them yell at her, especially when she hadn't done anything wrong.
All throughout high school she got straight A's and was very involved in athletics, captain of the girl's soccer team. She had her group of friends and she stuck with them. Though she didn't get along with everybody having been in her fare share of fights.
Being an independent and free soul, she left the house of hell that she lived in at the age of seventeen. No longer depending on her family's wealth she got a job and an apartment all on her own.
When the world went to hell she rounded up her brother and got to safety, or in other words Texas.

She was home schooled by her older sister Jenna, which brought them very close. They did everything together which made Jenna's disapearance a lot harder on young Thalia.
When Thalia was 7 she become scared of the dark. She has always believed in the supernatural, and she believed shadows and the dark where monsters in disguise. At the start of the outbreak, her family immediately went towards Dallas hoping to stay with their cousins who lived in the city.
Her family was killed a month ago at the Chevron Station, leaving Thalia on her own to fend for herself. They had been at the station searching for gas, when a herd of walkers got into the small building. Jenna hid Thalia in the back; Jenna then lead the walkers off, giving Thalia a chance to run. Ever since then she has been trying to find her sister. She has never given up her hope of finding her: dead or alive

Marnie's life was normal before the outbreak, or mostly normal. Her family was short on money, and her dad walked out on the family. At least that's what she assumed. He vanished two years before the virus broke out, leaving Vivian to raise three kids on her own. She doesn't know why her father left, he loved his wife and family. But half a year later, their family's financial problems slowly started to disappear. Marina wasn't sure how that was possible, but she was happy enough to not question it. What was there to question?
The Campbell's never saw the epidemic coming, never head eye or ear about it. Maybe a few rumors here and there, but nothing significant enough to stick in their memories. Marnie is one that believes things happen for a reason, but this was pushing it. What did she do to deserve this? She was a straight A student, a varsity swimmer and just got a job. Where did she go wrong? She loved her family because who couldn't love the twins? They were beyond adorable. So many questions, but it doesn't matter now. You can't go back.
Ever since Johnathan left, Vivian had been so distraught. Marnie couldn't blame her, she herself was upset too. But if Marina were to guess, her mom thought Dad was coming back at some point. Once the dead came back, Vivian just hope of that ever coming true. So they ran from one safe haven to the next. The family stayed together for several months, longer than any of them would have thought., and could have been longer.
Maybe it was stress, Marina didn't know, but something changed in Vivian. A child shouldn't be the one taking care of the parent. When Vivian left, she convinced Kaden to go with her.
