message 1: by Ember Skye (new)

Ember Skye So I just thought it would be nice to have a thread dedicated to Riddles, so... Riddle away!

message 2: by Ember Skye (new)

Ember Skye A box without hinges, keys or lid, yet golden treasure inside is hid.

message 3: by Alina (new)

Alina (alinapink-rose) | 1958 comments Ah, I love that one. Unfortunately for you, I just watched the Hobbit for like the billionth time.

Eggs!

message 4: by Alina (new)

Alina (alinapink-rose) | 1958 comments What has a mouth, yet never speaks? What has a bed, yet never sleeps? What runs, but never walks?

message 5: by Ember Skye (new)

Ember Skye A River. Unfortunately for you, I just looked in the joke thread ;)

message 6: by Ember Skye (new)

Ember Skye No-legs lay on one-leg, two legs sat near on three legs, four legs got some.

message 7: by Alina (new)

Alina (alinapink-rose) | 1958 comments Oh this one is hard.

But I got it.

A fish is laying on a 1 legged table. A man sits on a 3 legged stool, and a dog or cat gets leftovers.

message 8: by Alina (new)

Alina (alinapink-rose) | 1958 comments What's black when you get it, Red when you use it, And white when you're all through with it?

message 9: by Viktorija (new)

Viktorija (ViktorijaWinters) | 26 comments coal?

message 10: by Alina (new)

Alina (alinapink-rose) | 1958 comments Yup!

Ember Skye Alive without breath,
As cold as death;
Never thirsty, ever drinking,
All in mail never clinking

message 12: by Alina (new)

Alina (alinapink-rose) | 1958 comments Fish

message 13: by Ember Skye (new)

Ember Skye Yep!

I am to thank for much creation
I am to blame for much destruction
I have killed, and yet people love me
I have saved, and yet people hate me
You need me, but I do not need you
We live together, whether you like it or not--but that cannot be, for that is an impossible feat.
Who could I possibly be?

@Jason

Your first riddle's answer is God.

Still working on the second.

Nothing? I think I've heard this one before, but I'm not sure...

message 26: by Alina (new)

Alina (alinapink-rose) | 1958 comments Here is an impossible one! I bet you can't figure it out! Unless of course you googled it, but give it a shot first!

You are standing on the top one of two solid metal pillars. They are both exactly one kilometer apart from each other and they both stand one kilometer high. There is absolutely nothing around these pillars, but you have one small twig, one small rock and an unlimited supply of rope. Using only the materials named, how can you get from the top of the pillar that you are on to the top of the other pillar?

message 27: by Ember Skye (new)

Ember Skye Just use the unlimited suply of rope to fill the gap and climb across

message 28: by Alina (new)

Alina (alinapink-rose) | 1958 comments Okay, you found that one out easily.
But here is a fun test. It's not exactly a riddle, but...

message 29: by Ember Skye (new)

Ember Skye Lol, that was fun :)

message 30: by Alina (new)

Alina (alinapink-rose) | 1958 comments Yeah, I found it pretty funny.

- What moves on four in the morning, 2 in the afternoon, and 3 in the evening?

message 31: by Ember Skye (new)

Ember Skye A person.

message 32: by Ember Skye (new)

Ember Skye That is the most Classic riddle ever, the one the Spinx asks in greek mythology

message 33: by Alina (new)

Alina (alinapink-rose) | 1958 comments Yeah, but it is still a good riddle to ask. You ask the next one.

message 34: by Taylor (new)

Taylor | 3024 comments Mod
What have you got in your pocketses?

message 35: by Alina (new)

Alina (alinapink-rose) | 1958 comments Nothing. Unfortunately most female clothes have either little tiny pockets that can hold really nothing, or no pockets at all. You?

message 36: by Taylor (new)

Taylor | 3024 comments Mod
My current pants have tiny pockets too. I lost my student ID (which gets me into my apartment) because of that. Good times. But I currently have my wallet (it's coming out ASAP…ouch) and headphones.

LOL! Hopefully you either find your ID or get a replacement. ROLF! The wallet does sounds painful! XD

Taylor | 3024 comments Mod
I actually know where my ID is -- the university emailed me and said it was in the lost and found.

message 39: by Alina (new)

Alina (alinapink-rose) | 1958 comments Well, that's convenient.

Today is totally the last day of school for me. I am so ready for a break.

Dana (danachewy) | 345 comments OKKAY TIME FOR ME TO JOIN THE PARTY! I have no idea if you guys will find this one easy or not.... but I thought it was pretty good when I first heard it!

Mike was walking home from work one day. When he unlocked the door of his apartment and entered, he saw the following on the floor: water, broken glass, and two dead bodies. How were the deceased killed?

message 41: by Olivia (new)

Olivia | 148 comments I have heard something like this before. The 2 dead bodies are goldfish, the breeze that came with him opening the door, knocked over the fish bowl, the glass broke, the water went everywhere, and the fish died. The one I heard were similar but not the same, so I don't know if it right.

Here so one that took me a while.
A father and his son were driving one night and got into a terrible accident. The father was killed and the son badly injured. The son was rushed to the hospital emergency room where the doctor hurried in only to cry, "Oh no! That's my son!!" Why?

message 42: by Taylor (new)

Taylor | 3024 comments Mod
The doctor is the boy's mother. Anyone who has to think about that for very long is a sexist scumsucker.

It's funny. In my school we were discussing bias, and someone said this riddle. I felt like crap because my immediate thought was, "Oh, so he has two dads." But after discussion, Taylor, we said it wasn't sexism, it was just a bias that is in our minds.

message 44: by Taylor (new)

Taylor | 3024 comments Mod
@Saru

I like that a lot more. Let's go with that.

I'm sure, within the next 20 years, the answer will change to "It's possible because he has gay parents" and anyone who answers incorrectly will be labeled a homophobe. XD

Hahaha, okay.

THAT'S WHAT WAS GOING THROUGH MY MIND. I was like, "Shit, I'm either sexist or a homophobe. I lose both ways."

Pardon my language.

message 46: by Alina (new)

Alina (alinapink-rose) | 1958 comments LOL, I don't think I have ever heard that riddle before.

Under pressure is the only way I work,
and by myself is the only way I'm hurt.

What am I?

message 47: by Taylor (new)

Taylor | 3024 comments Mod
@Alina

Is it a diamond?

message 48: by Alina (new)

Alina (alinapink-rose) | 1958 comments Yup! It probably wasn't all that hard huh?

message 49: by Taylor (new)

Taylor | 3024 comments Mod
Not as hard as a diamond. ;)

But really, I just have a talent for riddles.
