When will the roleplay thread be up and open?

I have...well a question I suppose as well as a few suggestions. I'll start with the latter :).

Suggestions
1) In the groups Im used to, there are generally 'place' folders (like maybe some city) and five to ten places within it as threads where rp can take place. For this particular rp, I would actually suggest to having the main focus be around one rather large city and it's outskirts, thus making all the characters able to cross paths at some point. Perhaps have it branch out to a new location as the rp advances? Maybe even have one other city inhabited by a few characters who come into play with the rest later on? I just feel lime this might me more helpful in getting everyone able to interact.

2) I'm not exactly sure what the backstory to the rp is. How did the zombies come about? Was it a medical mistake that resulted in contamination that eventually went airborne and few were immune? Or is it something else? Like a meteor crashed down that plused an usual energy which resulted in the altercation of the human mind and genetic makeup? It could have started in some remote, secret lab and infected the world eventually. Personally I like the latter just because i have used it in a one on one rp before and had awesome characters created for it lol. Oh! For the backstory, I would seriously adore helping make it. I know Im not a mod, but I've moderated a number of groups as well as created, so I've got a small knack for this stuff :). Of course, tis not my group and thus i will understand if youd wish to do it yourself.

3) Is there a plot for the group as a whole? Like an idea as to she.thing huge happening that is driving the plot forwards rather than it just sort of being stagnant in zombie land? Just curious :). Im also good at helping with this sort of stuff!

4) Perhaps clear out all of the non character things in the character creation threads? Like all the 'spam' (the posts just talking that are not characters or mod's approvals)? It's rather crowded otherwise and makes it a bit...well troublesome and irritating finding characters and what ia relevant.

1) How long has it been since he outbreak happened? How is the infection spread? Is there still some technology up and running? If so, how advanced is it (like what year is this taking place)?

Suggestions
1) I see why that would be a good idea, but in the role play, people move around frequently. Have you ever seen The Walking Dead? Or ever heard of it? They are constantly moving, never able to stay in one spot long because of frequent zombie attacks. If your safehaven has been over run, you would want to be out, and as far from there as you could. We have our RP set into groups of people that are "banded together." Groups of survivors instead of individual survivors. If the group wants to split up, then they can just go to a different thread under their group folder. We have plans to eventually have group crossovers, so if characters want to switch groups, or just have two different groups run into each other, its possible.

2) Okay, backstory time. As meantioned in point number one, this group was based of TWD. They had no clear reason to why the breakout occurred, so we decided to make one of our own. So the US has been at war with China for the last twenty two years, each side having its fair share of victories and losses. The US decided that they needed to end the war because the people were suffering, going into another depression with job losses, crops failing and the like. The need for volunteer soldiers has been high for the past couple years and to sum it up, the US government was desperate. So they had some of their top researchers generate this virus to wipe out the Chinese army. Only they did not know the affects it would have on the US itself, spreading across the world in the blink of an eye.

3) Actually, you have gotten us thinking. We do not have much of a plot as of right now, except maybe having the survivors hearing of rumors of a cure and go searching for it. We don't really have a whole lot, so we would like to ask what ideas you have? (:

Questions
1) It has been about nine months to a year since the breakout. The infection is spread if you are either bitten by a zombie, or if one scratches you. The virus is airborn, so everyone has it, but you only turn right away if you are either killed or bitten :3 Technology is not up and running, electricity is down, and water is not working. That is, unless you find a house or building that is still working, it would be luck. And it would be up for your group to decide. The year for this is present day.

No problem, glad to hear how we can make the group better. Not many people take that seriously.

Thanks for answering back so well :D. I always tend to do this, as a crap ton of questions and suggest a lot of stuff, in groups i join rather than help create. I just like to get a good feel of the group and make sure I understand everything :). I have indeed heard of the walking dead as well as been prompted by many to watch it, though i have not. Will it be critical to my participation if i have not watched it? Meaning will i be lost without that knowledge?

Anyways! Mkay, now I see the way the virus was started and what not. Perhaps not the most creative but all the same it's practical and likely (dont take the creative part as an insult!). So do the survivors know about how the virus started? Or was it kept a secret?

As for possible plot ideas, I'll have to regroup and stem from yalls backstory. So it may take a little bit, but I'll come up with something surely :). May I ask if any many plots have been developed yet? If so, what are they (if you know them and don't mind giving a short blurb)? Sorry for asking you to do this! It's just a lot easier and quicker to have someone brief me rather than me read through everything.

Thanks for understanding. I know what you mean, I like to make sure I understand the group before I start to rp, make sure I understand the whole plot. It's also easier to make characters with interesting backgrounds. If you haven't watched the walking dead you'll be fine, it was just inspiration for creation of the group. Nothing specific from the show will be included that is not mentioned. So you're good

We wanted to keep the RP realistic instead of trying to stretch something to try and make it realistic. Don't get me wrong, your ideas were cool and I thought they were creative :D The survivors do not have knowledge on how the virus started, it was kept classified within certain members of the government.

As of right now, there are no major, broad plots going on at the moment. Some of the characters have their own goals and those include finding a safe haven and just trying to survive or perhaps trying to find family. If you have trouble trying to come up with a plot, no biggie (: just let us know.

Girl, yeah, no i fully understand :). I love realistic yet impossible scenarios as well :). Virus infection is one of the more possible approaches for the whole zombie idea, so I understand why yall went for that :).

I'll message you with my other questions and what not that revolve around one of my characters to see if she is okay to use or not.

As for the overall plot, i have a few possible ideas stirring up. I'll probably message them to you as well :).
