Hey guys just finished Red Hill, a Zombie apocalypse book and it's brought to mind: 'Where WOULD you go when the world ends?'

Were I used to guide in the wilderness, it is the most remote place in the lower 48 states, no vehicle are allowed anywhere near it, there is an old Forest Service cabin up there that I could fortify pretty well, there are springs to get water out of and plenty of animals to find to eat...I would take my husband and all of his guns and my corgis, because lets face it corgis are great for zombie attacks. Lets assume that Zombies can't move too well, so when a 4 inch dog bites them they can't swoop down fast enough to kill them. So I am with Emm, remote forest area.
Emm wrote: "Hahaha. Corgis as a first line of zombie defense? Love it! I had never considered that ankle-biting could be useful during an apocalypse. ;)"Makes perfect sense. The corgis worry the ankles of the zombies. Said zombies trip, fall over and break into a thousand pieces. No more zombies. Q.E.D.
I am jealous of your corgi's Andrea I love them but they're sooo hard to find over here. My neighbour used to have one and it was the most darling little thing-lived for about 17 years :)
I've thought a lot about this and I always change my mind. But my husband is a Zombie/apocalypse fan (He doesn't think it's going to happen but he loves the idea) and I think he's read every book in the genre so I think I'd have to follow his lead. He votes-Boat. Get the hell off the mainland and head for one of the ten million islands with a fresh water supply. But my back-up plan was always Eungella, the rainforest at Mackay's highest point. Fresh water, lots of isolated properties and cow/dairy farms.
Luckily he's a country boy originally and knows how to butcher cattle, just got a firearm and has his boating license :)
Oh! The island idea is a good one. I wish we had an island options.
I agree, you could be onto something there with the corgi's. Perhaps you should look into breeding some more as part of your dooms day prep ;)
I'm with SK on the boat idea although I don't have a boat so I might head down the harbour and nik a nice yacht like Tristan's. That should do nicely except its have to take plenty of food because I'm allergic to seafood. Otherwise we have a secluded acreage but it's about 2 hours away off the beatin track. We will be zombie food by the time we get there

They are awesome. I hope mine live that long. I should start training them to kick zombie ass.
