L Clare (cloud9clare) Hi Rain

I have one cat of my own (Sammy-cat) and also foster for Cats Protection. At the moment I have Duke (v. old, v. grumpy) and Rosie who's a lovely little thing. I take up to three at a time so no doubt another little feline will be knocking at the door soon ...

Sasha (sasha6321) | 6 comments what cat did i have before?
i dont know. i was really small back then. i remember how she looked like, and everything, but we never figured out what KIND it was. we had to give her away.... but it was mostly brown. some black spots, and grey at the feet and tail. she was really independent. she was probably almost a year old.....but not that big for her age.

Tracy | 1 comments i only have one, but that's mostly because he won't let me have any more! he spent the first year of his life as low cat on the totem pole to 7 other cats and 1 dog (his previous owner wasn't the best ever, he tended to collect pets that wondered across his doorstep). but once he found me, he made it clear that he would only put up with a one cat household. but he's the cuddliest, most affectionate, most talkative cat ('attention whore' is generally the term we use) i've ever met, so there's no complaints here.

Karen & Gerard (wwwgoodreadscomprofilekzemek) | 8 comments I have only one cat now--a Tuxedo cat named Spunky Doodle who I got as a kitten in 2004 from my dad's house. She was born on the street as a stray. At the time I had a 12-yr. old cat, Moe, who wasn't happy at all when I brought in the kitten, but she entertained him and after six months, they became friends. Moe died New Year's Eve of 2007.

I also helped my dad take care of his three cats, Sweet Thing, Sylvester and Softie who lived in the upstairs of his double house.

Krista the Krazy Kataloguer (kristathekrazykataloguer) | 7 comments I have 4 cats at the moment, my little Persian having died a month ago. I'd like to get 2 or 3 more, as I'm used to having 7-8 cats at any one time. The house feels empty with just 4! I usually don't have to go looking for cats-- all the strays seem to find me.

I don't know what I'd do without them to greet me when I come home. And of course in the winter they're better than an electric blanket! If only I could get them to pick up around the house, answer the phone, shovel snow... earn their keep!
Well, at least they keep the vermin away.

Krista the Krazy Kataloguer (kristathekrazykataloguer) | 7 comments Kirsty, I'm sure you've realized by now that, once you get a cat, the house isn't yours any more--it belongs to the cat and the cat rules!
In fact, everything you own really belongs to the cat, to do with as she pleases. She lets you think you're in charge, but she knows the truth!

I have 5 cats. 4 at my mom's house, and 1 at my dad's. their names are Isis (at my dad's), cookie, lily, bobo (originally taffy, nicknamed by my little sis), and merlin (all at my mom's)

Melissa (radical_radish) | 1 comments I am the enslaved human to two cats. Sabby is an 8 year old Russian Blue and Toffee is a Tortoise Shell about a year old. I just adopted Toffee a month ago. The two get along really well. They're not the best of friends but they do tolerate each other. Sabby is a laid back affectionate cat while Toffee acts like she's had too much caffeine. Chasing her tail is her favorite hobby.

CJ Messerschmidt | 1 comments I live with four cats, all of them throw-aways no one else wanted, and all of them the sweetest, loveliest creatures I have ever met. It's a joy to have them in my life.

Rhonda | 3 comments if you think having one hopped up on caffeine is fun, try having 4. we have 10 cats and a dog, and 4 of the cats are kittens ranging from age 6 weeks to 1 year. they teach each other all the fun stuff ( which isn't necessarily our idea of fun, mind you) and they play till they drop. our oldest are 18 years old ( brother and sister)who we've had since 1 week after we got married. we always planned to have 2 or 3, but now i can't imagine only having 2 or 3. i wish i was independently wealthy and could have more, with a staff to clean litter boxes so i could just play with them.

Rhonda | 3 comments my husband and i share the litter box duties. i have had cats all my life, so i'm used to it and fortunately, it doesn't bother me. i think it'd bother me more to change a diaper than to clean a litter box! anyway - 10 cats is wonderful! the most we ever had was 11. there were a few years that we were down to 8 and the house felt emptier. i know that sounds strange, but i think everyone's home has a certain rhythm that is comfortable for it's inhabitants - like people who have lots of kids or who have several generations under one roof. i grew up as an only child and it would feel strange for me to have lots of people living with me,with lots of noise and commotion, but lots of animals is another story. it says home to me and i love them more than i can say. at the moment it's a bit like a daycare center, since we have several kittens and they love to play, play , play. does anyone else out there have a crowd?
