Willa entered into the music classroom unsure of what to expect. There were instruments of every kind and cupboards full of probably more along the interior wall. The wall by the windows held a half as many desks as the other classrooms she had been in and the wall nearest the door held some risers with chairs and sheet stands stacked and piled up in the far corner. There were a few kids milling around, one strumming a guitar another tuning a cello. She wondered quickly if she should have taken math instead she had very little idea how to read music or play an instrument.
Soon the teacher welcomed them all in and directed them all to take seats at the desk as they would just be going over music theory and history after introductions.
Role was read off and everyone stood and gave an introduction with their name and what their interest in music is. When it was her turn she stood up and announced "Hi, I am Willow Douglas, and my Gamma says she loved to here me sing so I use to do it all the time. I thought I would miss singing for her so here I am. I don't play an instrument or anything but I figured I could just use my voice."
Roni enters he room excitedly, this was her last period but she was really excited to play piano again. She always came in here when she was bored- playing piano relaxed her. She decided to play a little before class began. She takes her seat at the grand piano hitting a few notes and smiling at the sound; this was a very nice piano. She continues playing the song she knew by heart with almost no effort. She doesn't even notice as Ms. Worth comes over and stands listening she looks up noticing her and immediately stops. "Oh don't stop!" she says smiling," How long have you been playing?"
"I'm- 11 years." Roni says shyly.
"You're very good- I look forward to improving you even further."
Roni smiles and nods. The bell rings and she gets up from the piano and goes over to take a seat in a desk as they begin learning music theory.
((Not sure if I'm posting so uhh...))Roni enters the room that has been unlocked so students could come practice. "Isn't it cool?" she asks observing all the instruments," I think I'm in love with this piano."
Alex laughs. "Nice." She brought her guitar, and she opens up her case. "Lets play." She smirks as she tests her guitar to see if it was in tune.
Roni grins and goes to the seat of the grand piano," I play by ear pretty well- pick a song and I'll follow best I can." Roni says.
Alex smiles and thinks for a moment. "How about Pink? Beam me up. Ever heard it?"
Roni nods, "That'll be fun." she agrees and places her fingers on the piano quickly finding the key before they start.
Alex starts off with her fingerstyle. "Theres a whole 'nother conversation goin on, In a parallel universe. Where nothing breaks, and nothing hurts..."
Roni smiles hearing her friends voice, she was really good. Roni plays the notes fluently on the piano her hands dancing across the keys.
"Could you beam me up? Give me a minute, I don't know what I'd say in it. Prob'ly just stare, happy just to be there holding your face. Beam me up, let me be lighter, tired of bein' a fighter I think, a minutes enough. Just beam me up."
Alex hears V, and smiles. She plays the song till its over, and lets the last note ring. "That would be awkward if people were listening." She says, breaking the silence.
Alex laughs. "You know you were singing too, right?" She winks as she says "You should do it more often."
Roni blushes, "Oh."she hadn't really realized that she just gotten carried away, "Anyway." she says searching to change the subject.
Alex laughs. "You can't say anyway when we didn't say anything before!" She teases.
Alex thinks. "Mmmmm..." She snaps her fingers. "Oh! We could check out that ice cream parlor in town?"
"Gotcha." She packs up her things. "See ya there!"
