In the beginning Rosalie is upset with Bella, and doesn't really like Bella because she is jealous. Yet, she is with Emmett, if she likes Edward why is she with Emmett?Jealousy is ok sometimes, but when it causes one not to like another than it is bad. Rosalie is protective of Bella in the end because she wants to have a baby. She even is willing to let Bella die to have the baby. This is another example of her jealousy, taken too far, combined with her desire for a child.

yeah... my dad said hed pay me 1000G if i ran his charrie around and did the extinguishing the eastern kingdoms and outland, and then flamewarder of the eastern kingdoms & outland... so i stayed up pretty late to finish that up, and then did flamewarder and extinguisher of kalimador on my own charrie... lol

Back to Rosalie- I kind of liked her character. Her and Jacob and maybe Jasper are the only ones that I like. They aren't incredibly well developed, but they aren't Deadwards either (and Jacob seems like a fun person that had the misfortune to get rejected by Bella, and he is liable to go shirtless a lot which is good for my hormones. Too bad Meyer made him fall for an infant)The point is, I like Rosalie's back story. She was born with a silver spoon in her mouth- she had everything. She was beautiful, she had money, and she was about to get married and have a family (ugh, but that's what she wanted, and at that time I suppose that's a reasonable thing for a woman to want), but that was ripped away from her. She's inherently slightly vain and selfish.
Stew all this for a few centuries, add in the fact that she doesn't have a pulse and you have one crazy arsed vampire. She has some feeling showing through, and she stays in cannon all through the series, more or less.
As for the jealousy thing; Rosalie is used to being in the spotlight. When Bella (and how difficult is it to hate Bella, really?) shows up and endangers her family, its easy to hate the wench.
I do get your point. I hadn't thought about it like that before. But her jealousy is still extreme, I mean after all those years she should have learned something.

Well, think about it this way. I'm not the kind of person that can have nothing to do and be peaceful. I just have to be doing something all the time- reading, sketching, studying, anything. It just has to be something. I have to have something to work towards, or I go nuts. My mum tried to take me for a two week vacation somewhere and I went berserk after the first week e.e;;Now, imagine Rosalie in the same situation, but for about two centuries or so. It would definitely drive me around the twist.

you all make me feel terrible. you're going into this story and analyzing why rosalie hates bella and how you like rose now etc etc...i just like rosalie cos she kicks it and she has it.

B- what i wuz saying is that you all are like analyzing every aspect so professional and crap meanwhile im sitting in the back saying i like her because she kicks ass and she looks good doing it.
i mean, i could get more into it and say that she's a strong female character and is empowering and all that crap...
or maybe its because any bitchy character = <3 for me.

Rosalie upset me. I wished her character could have bloomed more. I think the story could have been better if the only vampire we seriously focused on was Deadward. I like more then three chracters being concentrated on
