Synopsis~
DOON…

Veronica doesn't think she's going crazy. But why can't anyone else see the mysterious blond boy who keeps popping up wherever she goes? When her best friend, Mackenna, invites her to spend the summer in Scotland, Veronica jumps at the opportunity to leave her complicated life behind for a few months.

But the Scottish countryside holds other plans.

Not only has the imaginary kilted boy followed her to Alloway, she and Mackenna uncover a strange set of rings and a very unnerving letter from Mackenna's great aunt—and when the girls test the instructions Aunt Gracie left behind, they find themselves transported to a land that defies explanation. Doon seems like a real-life fairy tale, complete with one prince who has eyes for Mackenna and another who looks suspiciously like the boy from Veronica's daydreams. But Doon has a dark underbelly as well. The two girls could have everything they've longed for...or they could end up breaking an enchantment and find themselves trapped in a world that has become a nightmare.

Oops... after seeing Trisha's post, I got a headstart reading the book since it's only an hour away from tomorrow... and so far I enjoy it lol, but being less than a chapter in, I can wait until the 16th!

It's all good. Actually since I did read the first chapter, I won't be worrying (as much) about if I will get into the book. :)

okay, 4 chapters in. it's light and cute so far

and really, I want a BFF (view spoiler)[ who buys at ticket to take me to Scotland! LOL! (hide spoiler)]

I am also four chapters in, but I don't know if I will be able to get much more done tonight. And I completely agree (view spoiler)[I don't get why people don't break up with someone if they no longer like them and in a way better manner than he did (hide spoiler)]. Also, I want a best friend who does that too!!! :)

I have made it to Chapter 9 and it's starting to pick up the pace, so far I feel like it's been slow, but a good slow :)

Did you receive the book yet Mandiann? I can't wait to hear what you have to say.

So far, I'm starting to like Kenna a lot more than Vee because she's amusing and feisty.

As of this morning, no. I will check again when I get home.

Yeah, at first I wasn't impressed with Kenna (view spoiler)[ she was kind of grumpy and rude. but they both seemed kind of rude to each other! (hide spoiler)] but now I like Kenna!

Vee (view spoiler)[ I'm so sad that Jamie was so mad. I assume he was looking for the ring and since it had already been taken from them...

I hope she tells Duncan and they get to the rings back. I think then Jamie might be in a better mood

okay, I'm just over 1/2 way, just finished chapter 20

it's a fast paced book

but honestly (view spoiler)[ this tug of war with jamie is getting kind of old. I'd love if another guy gave Vee attention instead of her having to watch Jamie dance with Sophie :( (hide spoiler)]

I just got my copy! But I think I will wait a few days to start as I need to finish A Million Suns and read Enders as both are due back soon. I should be able to start by the weekend at the latest but hopefully sooner!!

I can't wait to read A Million Suns (that is the second one, right?) and I'm still deciding if I will be reading the Starters Series.

I am at the start of Chapter 25 (about 2/3 done).

Thats about it. I wish we had more of that and less of the rest.

Yea I agree, but overall I like the book. The second book is supposed to be about Kenna and Duncan, who I think is so swoon-worthy lol

I did like the book, but I just wanted more Kenna and Duncan parts. I enjoyed their characters so much more.

I am excited to hear there is a second book focusing on them.

LOL yeah, only another 90 years to wait. At least if the author has to push the release back a bit none of the original audience will be left waiting.

It's that far away :( lol I loved the story between Kenna and Duncan, it just flowed better and was more believable
