Well this is goodreads...lets talk about books! What are you guys currently reading? What are some of your favorite books?


I am currently reading Jailbird by Kurt Vonnegut and Life of Pi by Yann Martel. They are both quite good.

So what are you all reading?

Life Of Pi is in my top 5 books of all time. Yann Martel is a beautiful writer.

I quite agree. He shows the hypocrisy of man and of religion quite well. The stories are more important than weather or not they actually happened, so beautiful.

I just picked Grapes Of Wrath up from the library, I'm a huge Steinbeck junkie. I just finished 'Winter Of Our Discontent' last week.

I'm just reading a bunch of his stuff to gear up for 'East Of Eden'

I think you might really like Vonnegut -- he has an interesting take on life, philosophy, and politics, probably similar to some of your views. I recently finished A Man Without A Country which is on my top 5 list. Excellent author and a brilliant man.

Yeah, Vonnegut is okay. Portrait Of The Artist Of A Young Man is on that list, Dubliners, The Great Gatsby, Huckleberry Finn, etc

Also, On The Road and Rush Limbaugh Is A Big Fat Idiot are up there.

Just saw Inkheart movie. :) Book was better, naturally.

Is it weird to say the book I'm reading smells really good?

Lol my dad gave me this really good book called Parable of the sower and after he left i picked it up and i't smelt JUST like him. It was so weird.

I have the weirdest habit, before I read a book, I open it to the cover and see what it smells like. I love the smell of ink and paper and glue. <3

Hahaha, my entire room has that smell. The amount of books in my room is seriously fucked.

For school. Only reason i didn't like it was we had to study it.

Of Mice And Men was amazing, classic Steinbeck. Opened me to his whole world.

They made us read it, so therefore I couldn't love it. grr.

I had to read Gatsby for school and I love it still. I read it every two years, at least.

Wish Harry Potter was school reading. My life would be a win.

I wish there more fucking Harry Potter books haha
