Someone recommended doing a list of 'suggested' reads for each month, ones that are widely well known, or 'typical' for that genre. Feel free to post to add ideas. I will delete your post after I've added it, just to make it nice and tidy, but please give suggestions for what books you think are 'key' ones for each genre!

Contemporary: The fault in our stars by John Green :)

I believe Eleanor & Park and Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell are both also considered contemporary.

Frankenstein for horror. Diary of Anne Frank for non-fiction. The Code of the Woosters for humour.

Horror I recommend Something Wicked This Way Comesbecause it is a great story by Ray Bradbury, The Eyes of the Dragon by Stephen King which is a YA fantasy, and that's it for now.

Into the Wild for Non-Fic!

I read Love is a Mix Tape by Rob Sheffield over a year ago and I really liked it even though I usually don't go for memoirs or non-fiction. I would surely recommend it for everyone to read next November.

Dystopian: The Handmaid's Tale is classic, in my view.

for ya I suggest The Thief of Alwaysby Clive Barker. That is a pretty good read and got me into his books.

I would really love Jane Eyre and Divergent coming up!!

We do Handmaid's Tale in a class I TA, but I have yet to read it myself. Would love to!

Handmaid's Tale is definitely my favourite book of all time...

I've been meaning to read Divergent for ages, so let me know if you want to do a buddy-read sometime!

What exactly is contemporary? Is it recently published based in the present tense?

There are lots of different definitions for contemporary fiction.

The Mark of Zorrois pretty good and would count as an adventure novel.

I'm a big fan of humour so for April I would suggest any of the following from Christopher Moore: Fool, You Suck, A Dirty Job or Bite Me.

I dont know why I didnt think of this before but this is for anyone who is not liking February Lisey's Story by Stephen King

For Humor-- this is where I leave you by Jonathan Tropper. Absolutely hilarious and is being made into a movie with Tina Fey-always better to read the book first.

For young adult--Fangirl by a Rainbow Rowell. Love this book!

I know it is early to be thinking about April but I have no idea what would be considered Humor. help me!

I know I don't want to read a biography by a comedian. I didn't realize Shakespeare would be considered humor. Thanks tor the list it helps.

I was given a book that I think might be good for April and was wondering if it fits Humour. It is 11 Through 20... the Next Ten Commandments. Any thoughts?
