Published in 1881, this novel takes place in the fictional parish of Bowick, with the main plot concerning itself with the renowned Dr. Wortle's Christian seminary academy. The community's morals are outraged and the school's credibility wounded upon the discovery that Mr. and Mrs. Peacocke, a respectable American couple hired to the academy by Wortle, are indeed improperly married.

I think I didn't realize this is listed in a grouping as one of his comic novels. Trollope is always amusing, but I didn't find as much amusement in this as in some of his dramatic novels. Humor is so personal. Anyway, here is my short review.
Currently, I'm reading a book about Babylonian Laws and Contracts. I don't know what possessed me to put this on my reading list in the first place. I guess I thought it sounded interesting for a change and it is quite interesting but very dry. Getting back on subject, I think I already mentioned that my next Trollope (and very next book) is Tales of All Countries, followed by Rachel Ray, but checkigng further I find the two following are getting into the really big stuff, viz The Small House of Allington followed by Can You Forgive Her?, so it looks like the first half of next year is going to be a real Trollope fest for me.
