Jennifer-Eve Workman (jenniferworkman) | 18 comments I'm jealous Julie! OH no Bridgett so your family is coming to you for the holidays?! I'm lucky I just have to show up at the in-laws then leave! lol

message 8: by Julie (new)

Julie Okay.....I have to vent about this

I see some people have read over 200 & 300 books this year according to their 2013 Goodreads Challenge. How is that even possible?!? A friend of a friend on here just had a post on my wall that they have completed 612 books of their 500 challenge. Really?!?

message 9: by Kathy (new)

Kathy Horsman (kathywithak27) | 338 comments 600 is a little much...but I have to say I got through about 250 this year lol I read a lot though and go through probably 3 or 4 books a week sometimes more!

message 10: by Julie (new)

Julie I know I shouldn't be so snippy, but I just don't see how it's possible that people read two books a day. Maybe I'm just jealous.....between my Nook & my bookshelves at home I have enough books to last me 10 years! And that's without buying new ones or checking out from the library! LOL

message 11: by Kathy (new)

Kathy Horsman (kathywithak27) | 338 comments I didn't find it snippy at all!! I know personally I blog... a lot...so I do commit to quite a number of books that I have to get done by deadlines so that's how I went through so many books. I still don't know how people read 500, 600 + though...that's just....that's just unreal!

message 12: by Julie (new)

Julie I used to have a pretty successful book blog as well, but then it seemed like I spent all my time reading books that I was committed to reviewing & I didn't have any time to read what I really wanted to. I gave it up after about a year & a half. It was fun while it lasted though!

I have been curious how people have read so many books as well. I get a lot of reading done because I ride and a commuter van and I also occasionally listen to audiobooks. But the people who read like 600 books I'm curious about lol I have a book blog, but I also blog about books that I read for my own enjoyment and if someone wants me to read and review there's I will but I always do books I want first. I was happy just to make it to a hundred this year, well a little over. Next year my goal is higher but I won't be working for majority of the year so I am going to take that time to read, explore Scotland, writing my book, and just living :-)

message 14: by Julie (new)

Julie Sounds like you have a wonderful year in store for you Bridgett!

Mine was decent! Santa brought me lots of money, which is pretty much helping pay to ship my dog in February...his flight to London costs 3x as much as mine! It is insane!!

I am trying to decide if I want to start another book right now, or just wait until the new year and new challenges start...anyone else in that dilemma or just me?

message 28: by Julie (new)

Julie I haven't had much time to read this weekend. Busy celebrating my Sweetheart's birthday. Out with several friends last night enjoying a few drinks & playing pool. Now tonight it is a private dinner at his favorite steak place, just him & I.....so nice!

message 36: by Little Bee (new)

Little Bee (littlebeesreads) | 698 comments Mod
Mississippi!

Yup, I am so excited!! I am getting my dog taken care of for his transport. His is so extensive and expensive, but worth it...I keep telling him I am taking him back to the Motherland. LOL. He is a Scottish Terrier

message 37: by Julie (new)

Julie Wow! What is prompting your move? Do you have a job lined up? You are SO brave! I would be so nervous!

My boyfriend lives and works in Scotland. He is British, from Kent. I am actually not nervous. For the first time, I feel so sure of my decisions! I am really excited and can't wait. New year, new life :)

message 39: by Julie (new)

Julie How exciting for you! When exactly do you leave?

We have officially gotten a date! February 20th. We just have to get my ticket still, I have been trying to get my dog sorted out. That is what kept pushing it back

message 41: by Kathy (new)

Kathy Horsman (kathywithak27) | 338 comments Very cool :) I'd love to live in a foreign country, but I doubt that'll ever happen. I'll be lucky if I ever even go to somewhere outside the US lol

message 42: by Julie (new)

Julie I'm like you Kathy! LOL

My idea of a fun vacation is camping in the lovely Pacific NW.....

I have went on a Caribbean cruise though. I could definitely go on another cruise. That was great!

message 43: by Kathy (new)

Kathy Horsman (kathywithak27) | 338 comments I just don't think I could ever move. I don't have a job that I could just pick up and get another somewhere else (at least outside the US) and don't know anybody in another country lol. It would be totally awesome to do it, logistics wouldn't be possible though lol

Before Edd, I had looked into teaching English in Europe. I wont have a job, I will eventually get the visa situation worked out so that I can work, but for now, I wont have anything. So we will see how I do. I work myself into the ground, so part of me is looking forward to just living, and part of me is already searching for a job lol

message 45: by Kathy (new)

Kathy Horsman (kathywithak27) | 338 comments O_o even better! That'll give you more time to explore!

Kathy Horsman (kathywithak27) | 338 comments lol 3 or 5. haha He might be regretting this after a couple weekends!

Julie So if he lives clear over there, and you live clear over here.....how the heck did you ever meet?!?

And what does your family think? Are they being supportive, or are they sad?

Sorry for all the questions.....I'm just nosy! LOL

message 50: by Little Bee (new)

Little Bee (littlebeesreads) | 698 comments Mod
Sorry took so long to reply! Hope you guys had a nice new years!

how we met is kind of interesting...online? I guess that is the easiest way to explain it. Just happened across each other, we were friends for about 6 months and then he came out to visit, and we pretty much went from there.

My mom and dad were a little skeptical at first, but they are supportive and sad. Sad I am leaving, but happy I am happy.
