Chloe hugged herself, she really didn't want to be back here. She knocked on the door slightly, "Oh no one's home." she said and turned around.
"Wait." Aaron grabbed her by the arm. "You can't just go away like that when I'm here." he stood his ground.
Chloe sighed and went back to the door and knocked louder. A few seconds later, Sara, the housekeeper answered. "Your mother's waiting for you in the living room." she smiled kindly at Chloe and Aaron.
"Great." Aaron returned the lady's smile. "She seems nice enough." he whispered to Chloe as they walked to the living room.
Chloe nodded and jumped when she was hugged by her mother. Who looked exactly like Chloe minus her green eyes. "Chloe look at you! All grown up!"
She smiled at Aaron, "And a boyfriend! About time, you always worried me about that you know."
Chloe rolled her eyes, sometimes she hated how bubbly her mom could be. "Mom this is..."
"Come sit both of you. I'll get us some champagne." She smiled and left

Aaron was a little alarmed at first when Chloe's mother started talking. She talked much more than Chloe did, he decided. He smiled as Chloe hugged her mom and gave her an I told you so look. When her mom left, he looked at her. "I dob't drink champagne." he said. "I hate those bubbles in it."
Chloe shrugged and sat down, "If things get bad, I might." Okay so she was happy that her mom seemed to had missed her, but her mom went through more mood swings then there were days in the week.
"Your mom doesn't seem so bad." Aaron said, sitting down next to her. "She seems pretty nice actually. Much nicer than you make her out to be."
Chloe shrugged just as her mom came back in with the champagne. Of course hers was filled to the trim. She gave Chloe and Aaron the half filled glass.
"So your Chloe's boyfriend?" she asked
"So your Chloe's boyfriend?" she asked
"Yeah." Aaron said. "I guess." he looked at his glass of champagne and took a cautious sip. The last time he'd tried it, he'd choked.
Chloe took a small sip of her glass, "Is he home?"
Her mom rolled her eyes, "No Sam went on a business trip."
She smiled behind her glass.
Chloe's mom glared at her, "I don't understand why you can't at least act to like you father...."
"Stepfather." Chloe corrected.
She rolled her eyes again, "I swear, I don't get why you can't just get along with Sam. He just wants to be part of your life."
"Maybe I don't want him in my life,"

"Maybe I don't want him in my life,"
Aaron looked at both of them, suddenley realizing why Chloe did not like her mother. After one sip, he'd abandoned the glass of champagne and set it down on the table. He cleared his throat a little louder than necesary to get their attention. He felt slightly uncomfortable with their argument.
Chloe's mom rolled her eyes and focused back on Chloe, "So back to the reason I called you..."
Chloe snorted, "There's a reason?"
She glared, "Yes, I want to know what you thought about getting a little brother or sister."
Chloe chocked on her drink for a moment, "A little brother or sister? Are you?"
She nodded, smiling. "Isn't it great?"
Chloe didn't say anything, just stared at her mother in shock.

Aaron stared at both of them and kind of understood Chloe's shock. "That might be good." he said to Chloe. "I mean...a little brother or a sister would be great. Someone to play with Lilly." As soon as the words were out of his mouth, he felt like kicking himself,
Chloe couldn't take another moment in the house with her mother. She got up and left. Her mother was pregnant with that thing's kid. It was bad enough he had knocked her up but her mom too!
Chloe's mom glared at her daughter's retreating back, "Ungrateful."

"I think..." Aaron looked at Chloe's mother. "I think I'll go too." he got up too and went after Chloe, hoping he hadn't upset her.
"I'm sorry for the slip-up." he said. "It was a mistake but I'm really sorry. I never meant to tell."
Aaron put his arm around her and hugged her slightly. "It's okay. He won't ruin everything. His kid can't be as bad as him."
Chloe hugged herself, "I've never seen her so happy about anything dealing with a kid." she whispered
Chloe nodded and headed back to the bus stop."C-can you watch Lily for awhile? I-I need to lie down for a bit."
Chloe cracked a smile, glad something could make her happy. "What a gentleman." she teased and got on the bus.
"I'm there to back you up." he said. "It'll be okay. Even if she doesn't believe you, I bet she'll take care of Lily."
Chloe sighed and nodded. She went up and knocked on the door.
A few seconds later, the maid came. She raised an eyebrow at Chloe and Aaron bu let them in. "Your mother's in the dining room." she told them.

Aaron nodded, ready to pull Chloe along if she didn't come herself. He shifted Lily to his other shoulder-she was getting heavy- and started walking inside.
Chloe thought about running off but knew it wouldn't help so she followed Aaron. She froze though when they came to the dining room and saw a little girl barely over one who looked excatly like Gabe.
