I usually try to avoid reading and listening to similar books in one genre at the same time, but I did that this week and I admit this suffered because of it. Once I got into it, more than 1/3 or so, it got much better though and I did enjoy it. In typical Johanna Lindsey fashion, this book was full of interesting characters and lots of fun family dynamics. It was sweet and lighthearted. I have a soft spot for Johanna Lindsey, she is the author who got me hooked on romance. (Though I can see in hind sight that was a part of all my favorite books as far back as childhood.) So while I have since discovered many wonderful authors and I think some of older work is better than some of the more recent, I still like her books!

Good story, fun characters! I enjoyed this even when I had a few issues... First off, I thought she forgave his initial deception way too easy. I get it, I do, but I still thought it was too easy. I did like how open he was with her after that initial deception though. I also liked how this felt like a simpler story, no big threat or conflict. Although at times it felt like there was almost too much going on because of all little conflicts. My biggest issue though was the language. Now I am no prude and I've been told I swear like a sailor. Especially during football games, even worse when my team is losing. And only when there aren't small children around - thank goodness the grandkids aren't around very often on Sundays during football season! But I seriously think the author was going for some kind of record for f bombs in a single sentence! When it fit the scene and the characters, it worked, but there were times it was just too much.
Now for the narration. Overall, I thought Kate Russell did a very good job. Her voice fits these books. But something was a little off with the pacing in this one. Not bad, but enough to make you notice now and then. Definitely didn't stop me from listening and I will listen to her again!

Nice story. It was great to get some answers about the shack and bones from On the Island. I liked the way the story was told too, it worked for me. I was very happy with the end too!

I liked this story, the characters were likable and the pace was good. It was a simpler story, not complex and stirring deeper emotions. But it still worked. I was a little frustrated with both the H and h not being open, upfront and honest, but not too badly. My only real complaint would be that some things were repeated over and over. Again not a huge deal, but enough to notice. It was a new author for me, and I will likely continue to read both this series and other books. Especially this series as I am curious about the other two sisters!

I really enjoyed this book - just as I have the others. Bowen and Mari fought and loved so well! It was fun to watch. I didn't see where it was going as the story progressed, that kept me on my toes till the end. I am not waiting this long again before listening to the next one!
I listened to the audio and thought it was very good. I know this will sound terribly wrong, because Robert Petkoff is a wonderful narrator, but I was a teeny bit disappointed. I think it was because I just finished another audiobook with Scottish characters and liked it better. Didn't stop me from enjoying it and it won't stop me from listening to more!

So sweet! I loved this second chance story! After leaving a miserable marriage, Laura meets her high school best friend while out 'trying to get her groove back'. They were never more than friends, but that all changes! I loved Laura and Bryan together! It worked for me on all levels and I was so glad when they got there HEA! I can't wait to see what it is in store for the rest of the wine girls!

So good! I am really enjoying this series. This was such a different story though. I couldn't see how things were going to work out, kept me thinking right up until the end. The audio was wonderful as well. I thought Robert Petkoff did a wonderful job conveying Conrad's lack of control in the narration especially. I am so glad there are so many more books in this series to listen too!

I loved this! It was sweet and it was simple and it worked for me. Hailey and Matt were looking for the opposite of each other, someone compatible with their personal style and tastes. They did not find that in each other! What they did find was a great friend and someone they liked to spend time with and had off the wall chemistry with. Burn through the sexual tension and just be done with it right? Sure, unless you discover you can't be without the other. And that compromise is worth it to make your partner smile. Loved the journey, even though it took Matt a little longer to get there! And the ending? It was pretty wonderful too!

Oh Sassafrass, you were right! I just loved this! I even teared up at the end, it was that sweet! Natalie had issues, but that wasn't enough to deter Ewan. He was so sweet and so loving and oh so persistent! This story was wonderful. This series is wonderful! I love how Mari Carr can pack so much into so little!

I am not sure how I feel about this book, probably just three stars for me. There wasn't anything really wrong with it, but a good part of the time I was reading it I was really frustrated. I liked and then didn't like the characters. (And at times really didn't like them!) The story was good and then it was slow. Yes, frustrated is the best word. And I truly hated the ending. I get that the big new thing is what seems best called the 'soap opera book series' because that is really what it is like, but I want at least some sort of ending to each part of the serial. I did not get any sort of resolution with this one. Though I would like to know what happens, so for a change I wouldn't mind if someone spoiled this series for me! Not sure if I will continue, but certainly not anytime soon.

This was really enjoyable and very easy to listen to! It is full of fun characters and interesting situations. I liked how there were three parts and three couples by three different authors and yet it all worked together well. There were slight differences in style when the story switched from one couple to the next, but I really only noticed because I was listening for a change. I thought the narrator, Susan Duerden, did a very good job and made the listening experience even better!

This series is always a good choice for a fun read. The humor is over the top and full of puns making it a perfect option for some light easy reading! Everett and Dawn are as opposite as the other pairings in the series and that is just part of the fun. I'm not seeing any more books in this series, though there is certainly the possibility of it continuing - there are still bad guys out there!

I don't know why, but this totally worked for me. Perhaps because I understand about not fitting and wanting that so much, but I looked Hope. She had worked and fought for what she had and I loved how she fought to keep it! Matt had been burned, and by Hope's sister no less, and while it was hard for him at first he was able to move past that and get on with his life. That included opening his heart again. I loved Matt and Hope together and I loved the end of the book! Sure there were things handled simply, but sometimes that works. Looking forward to the other brothers' stories too!

This was wonderful!! I really enjoyed Emily and Wyatt, their characters and story was just so sweet! I loved the humor and the animals too. But the note at the end, that just made me sigh... This was a joy to listen to, Karen White adds so much to the experience with her characterizations and the emotion she reads with!

I don't think I've ever been so annoyed at a book I enjoyed before! The story was good, the characters were good, but the storytelling drove me nuts! This had the potential to become a favorite, but between the same phrases being used over and over and Jet calling her doo-da her doo-da, it fell short. (Really, who above the age of 11 does that?!) And nearly every time a question was asked, we heard the characters think the response before they spoke it - so we got it twice... ~sigh~ It could have been so much better...
I listened to the audio of this book and the narrator, Susannah Jones, was enjoyable.

I thought this was really good. I liked both Nate and Kellan, they were both flawed still very likable. Best friends from childhood with a falling out in high school, but neither really let go over the years. They followed each others' lives even though they had no contact. So when they did see each other again, old feelings surfaced. It had humor and seriousness and made for a fun, sweet read.

The ending of this book, even with lots of emotional angst, was the best part of this book - and I enjoyed the whole book! I came to care about Derek Craven in Then Came You and was very happy to see him finally happy! And Sara was the perfect match for him. I loved their story and especially loved the ending!
I listened to the audio of this book and thought the narrator, Rosalyn Landor was good as usual. I do have one little nitpick, the voice used for the heroine was inconsistent and to me a bit annoying. There was some sort of accent and it rubbed me the wrong way, but almost worse than that it was in and out. I'm not sure if this was because certain words brought it out more than others, but it was odd. And especially odd for a Rosalyn Landor narration.

Not my favorite in the series, but I still enjoyed it. It was set in Elder Races world, but for the most part was new characters so it almost felt like a new series that didn't need all the world building. The hero and heroine were quite likable though their situation and comfort with each other seemed to go from one end of the spectrum to the other too quickly for my taste. Especially for Tess, she went from scared to death to in love rather fast. But it is a romance and that happens sometimes. Really curious what comes next now though, especially after that epilogue!
As I expected the narration by Sophie Eastlake made the reading/listening experience wonderful!

I liked this story. Even though it was rather short, I understood the characters and why they acted the way they did. There was understandable resentment caused by understandable, yet unkind, youthful actions. As adults, Trevor tries to make up to Paul for those actions. The path isn't easy and Paul does some things that aren't kind as well. The end was a bit rushed, but still nice.

Oh my goodness - so sweet, so touching, so wonderful! If the beginning hadn't been a little slow, it would have been perfect. It was a joy to watch both Carrie and Brian learn more about themselves as they got to know each other. Piece by piece, it comes together in such an endearing fashion. So glad I read this!

This book just worked for me. I liked the characters and I liked the story. Brody and Elise were so great together and Rennie was awesome too! I enjoyed that for the most part, it was easy to hate the ones I was supposed to hate - black and white, no gray. It was simple and easy and sometimes that is great.
I listened to that audio and thought it was good. The narrator, Lucy Rivers, does a good job with the characters. She was very easy to listen to.

I love Drew and Kate! And the stories from Drew's POV are hilarious! I really enjoyed watching him grow as his relationship with Kate grew. You could still see who he was, even in this book, but who he is - that's awesome! I'm sad this series is ending, but the happy, happy ending helped to make it ok.

I so enjoy listening to this series! The stories are good and the characters are wonderful. I enjoy watching Eve work through the cases, but not as much as I enjoying watching her and Roarke's relationship! This book had several twists I didn't see coming, not as emotional as a couple of them have been but still a very good read.
The audio of this series, narrated by Susan Erickson, is great! I know as soon as I start listening that it is going to be a great experience - I highly recommend them!

I enjoyed this even more than I expected to - the story and characters really worked for me! I really enjoy this series, especially in audio. It is always fun to listen to! Lucia and Garreth went on quite a journey, but the reasoning behind their actions made sense. The twist at the end was certainly intriguing!

I didn't really like Cole and Jonathan in the earlier books of the series, but I did come to like them in their book. Maybe even love them. Neither of them started out looking for a relationship, just something casual. As time progressed though, they both started to care. It took them a while to be able to admit it to themselves and even longer to admit it to each other. When they finally did it was so sweet - I loved the ending!!

Her characters are so real and you can't help but to care about them! The superlatives are endless after I read a book in the On Dublin Street series and I tend to use a lot of exclamation points too - I can't help it!
Cole and Shannon first met when they were fifteen, a chance meeting, but it affected them both. Neither had a good childhood. From the outside it would be easy to say that Cole's was much worse, after all his mother was an abusive drunk. But he had his sister and the 'tribe' they became a part of and while he had his baggage, he turned out OK. Shannon came from an intact family, she grew up with both parents and her siblings. But her parents only had time or love for each other. Shannon made some bad choices, but she was not bad like her family made her feel. She carried lots of guilt, but she was trying to do the right thing now. When they met again, Shannon made some judgements about Cole as much to protect herself as really about him. Eventually, they work through the misunderstandings and begin a relationship. Of course it is not without some bumps - some BIG bumps, but you just know that Samantha Young will bring you home with a great ending. And she did!
I listened to the audio of this book, the first in this series for me. The narrator, Elle Newlands - also a new narrator for me, was very nice to listen to! I really enjoyed it and will definitely look for more of her narration in the future.

I enjoyed this story, but the part about her traveling to see Dylan and then falling for Hunter was a little hard to swallow and made me uncomfortable. It was handled well and explained so it all worked in the end. Not a favorite, but still good.
