There will be 2 sci-fi/fantasy/supernatural books in the month of January. Since Altered & Vampire Academy were tied and I'm re-reading Vampire Academy to get ready for the movie release in February. So you guys can join in or just read one of them either way I can't wait to discuss books with you guys!

I love Vampire Academy as well!! I'm excited for this read.

Jaimie | 16 comments I have to say, I thought this book was AMAZING! The writing style was addicting. The story was one I got lost in, so much so that I was shocked when I realized how quickly I was going through the book. I had to keep reading till the inevitable twist came, and I was not disappointed. The best part came when I thought the book was over. . . NOPE another, unbelievable twist!
I really enjoyed reading the friendship between Rose and Lissa. It really shows that friendship can be thicker then blood. Rose was brave, strong, and very protective. She knew the importance of her role as a Dhampir vampire, and worked her butt off to get stronger, faster, better. I found Lissa to be quite fragile in the beginning; however, over time she able to let go of the past and enjoy life. The supporting characters were equally amazing, Dimitri, Christian, and Mason. I was so happy with the love story elements and can't wait to see how they develop in the next book.
I think another reason why I really enjoyed this book is because I didn't feel like I was reading a book about vampires. It was essentially a book about friendship, love, and what you will do to protect those you love.
I do feel, that because of the different types of vampires and the different things they do and can not do, the book could have become extremley confusing; however, Mead did a wonderful job at explaining really well the three different vampire groups. I thought it all made sense.
Now on to book two!!!

I just finished reading Vampire Academy for me its the third time I read it maybe fourth and for me it gets better and better even know the story. I love Rose with her sarcasm and how fierce she cares for her love ones.
I never notice until you mentioned it Jaimie it doesn't feel like a vampire book. Granted it mentions it and has its elements but it is a book about friendship, love and what you will do to protect those love ones.
I'm happy to read that you loved it. I have started to re read Frostbite since the world has sunk its teeth into me (pun intended)I want more Dimitri and Rose.
