OOOFFFFF!!!The latest comic is perfect and gem-like and a wonderful example of something the reader would never have guessed and seems obvious in retrospective.
It means nothing to anyone who hasn't read the whole thing, I suspect. Like a freight train coming up to speed, it needs a long run to build up the power.
