The Lost discussion

Sodi sat on her motorcycle, smoking her last cigarette. It was a bit breezy as she watched high schoolers scramble to get their stuff from their cars and get to class in time. One of them was going to die that day and Sodi would have to take their soul to the Council. Their object for their soul was burning a hole in Sodi's pocket with guilt. She always wanted to save the poor soul she took, let them continue living, but that would never work.

Rose sat on the hood of her 67' Ford Mustang, watching the kids walk out after school. Her car was parked only a couple of cars away from Sodi's. Rose was oblivious to the fact that Sodi was also one of the Lost. She just knew she had gotten an assignment to take one of the student's soul and that's what she'd come for. She just needed to wait for the right moment.
Students rushed around to get to their cars and many glanced towards Rose. She sighed. She hated being stared at. She hated all of them. She wished she was gifted to just take anyone's life. These humans didn't deserve to live, if all they ever did was waste it.

Sodi glanced every which way until she spotted him. There... She thought to herself as the boy walked across the parking lot in front of her. A baseball card that used to belong to him came out of her pocket, the sound of screeching tires behind Sodi, and eventually two or three kids getting mowed down by an old Ford pickup. Sodi stood up and walked over to her target. She pulled his soul out of his body and then walked back to her bike. He was dead. Sodi resisted the urge to read the memories off the baseball card because she knew she would cry. Sodi always did.

Skye walked out to her car, "You are so on Katie." She says, a smirk on her face; she had, after all, updated her engine to get the highest horsepower and speed available.

Katie grinned. "You don't know what you're up against, Skye," she warned and she placed a hand on her car's hood. "Ella here's got the best stuff around in her."

"Jax has got all the toys." Skye replies with confidence, different from her usual tone. "My baby's all jacked up." She tells Katie, leaning against the hood of her own car. "I'm a street racer around here. I'm not one to loose often."

Katie raised a brow. "Didn't take you for the type," she replied, all the while pulling her curly red hair up into a ponytail. "Alright. Two miles east, then turn back to here. Last one back gets to do the chem work for the both of us. Sound good?"

"Most don't." Skye replies, pulling her own hair into a ponytail. She nods, "Deal." She says, putting her hand out to be shaken on the deal.

Katie stuck her hand firmly in this innocent and naïve seeming girls hand and gave it a nice shake before letting go and walking to the drivers side of her car. She slid into the seat with ease, closing the door behind her. She grasped her pendant. "¿Por qué tiene que ser ella, madre?" she asked aloud quietly. Spanish was second language to her. She has Spanish ancestry in her blood, after all.

Skye smiled and shook Katie's hand. She slid into her car, revving up the engine.

Katie turned her own car on, sighing as the engine roared the life. Being dead had its perks, she had to admit. She got everything she could ever want and had no budget. She put up a hand, indicating five seconds.

Skye waited till the five seconds was up and pushed down hard on the gas pedal. Her car zoomed off, quickly gaining more and more speed.

Katie went easy on the throttle and shifted gears, her foot hard on the gas. The sound of rubber on asphalt soon filled the air as she made a sharp turn out of the lot, right on Skye's tail lights.

Skye's speed steadily increased, the sound of her music blaring, the song 'chasing cars' by Snow Patrol was on.

Katie laughed, her windows rolled down and wind whipping through her hair. She pulled up right with Skye. "Is that the best you got?" she yelled over the music and the wind. She hit her own stereo and cranked it high. My Songs Know What You Did In The Dark by Fall Out Boy came blaring through her own set of speakers.

Skye laughed and shook her head, pushing down more on the gas pedal, her windows down, her hair flowing behind her. Her son changed to Wing$ by Macklemore and Ryan Lewis. She shouted along, rapping with the words, she sped up and was soon a good amount of space ahead of Katie.

"Hijo de puta," Katie muttered. She was out of her game. It had been awhile since shed actually been in a race. At least five years since her last. The Coucnil didn't like her doing it. It caused too many deaths that weren't supposed to happen at that moment.

Skye kept a steady speed, making sure not to hit any pedestrians, but not many people were in this part of town at that time of day. She turned back around, speeding up as she headed towards the school, a smirk on her face.

Katied turned her own vehicle around, swearing up in storm, her words going from English to Spanish. She punched the gas to the floor.

Skye put her foot on the gas, speeding up quite a bit before reaching the school. She swerved to a stop in the parking lot, a good five seconds passed before Katie's car entered.

Katie slid into the lot. She slammed a hand on the wheel of her now stopped car. "Dammit," she said.

Skye stepped out of her car, "I haven't ha a good race in a while. Thanks," She says softly, back to her usual calm, quiet and shy demeanor. "Let's head over to my place so I can give you the notes Katie." She says to her, pulling her hair out of its ponytail.

Katie made a face. This was not quite how she planned her first day in a new place. More chem for her. She liked Chem and all, but she never did homework. Now, shed not only have to do hers but also Skye's.

Skye smirked at the face that Katie made, "I'll do you Trig homework." She offers with a smile.

Katie sighed. "No, you won fair and square. Besides, all this stuff Ive already learned," she answered. Which was true. She had taken these courses so many times now, she knew the information by heart

Skye nods, she has taken online classes and knew most of it as well. "Let's go to my house, kay?" She says, her voice bored.

Katie nodded. "Alright. Ummm...I'll follow you there." She pulled her hair out of its ponytail. "Lead the way, Skye."

Skye nods, "I'll lead." She murmurs softly, getting back into her car. She turned the engine back on, revving the car up, driving towards her house.
