Emma Avis walked into the resident sub shop. "Can I have a BLT please?" She asked softly, twirling her ring around her finger.

Peter drove up to the sub shop, parking his motorcycle against the curb. He pulled off his helmet and placed it in its designated spot. He wore a white muscle tee paired with a black leather jacket, black jeans, and a pair of beat up black sneakers. He walked in, keys in hand, not making eye contact with anyone.

Emma Avis looked at the new person when the door opened, sending in a gush of air. He had a very dark aura, she noted, black and silver with streaks of red. Interesting. She knew her own, when she wasn't messing with it, was a deep purple with gold and blue swirls.

Peter sat down at one of the tables in the corner, practically melting into the shadows. He pulled out an Ipod and earbuds, and cranked his music loud. He folded his arms over his chest and let out a deep sigh, his eyes filled with a storminess to them, making them seem more black then blue.

message 6: by Emma (new)

Emma Avis thanked the worker for her sandwich and looked around with dismay to realize that there were no open seats. She approached the guy in the corner. "Can I sit here, maybe?" She asked him. "I'm Avis."

Kristi (derek1) | 356 comments Mod
Peter, despite his loud music, heard her. He pulled out his ear buds and looked up at the girl who had approached him. "Cant you sit somewhere else?" he asked, giving her a dirty look.

message 8: by Emma (new)

Emma She rolled her eyes. "In case you haven't noticed, there's nowhere to sit. And you can just ignore me, I just want somewhere to sit and eat." She said, sounding a bit irritable.

message 9: by Kristi, Head Mod (new)

Kristi (derek1) | 356 comments Mod
Peter grumbled, but waved for her to sit down already. He kept his mouth shut and stared out the window, wanting nothing to do with her.

message 10: by Emma (new)

Emma She ate a few bites of her sandwich before growing ridiculously uncomfortable with the silence. "So, what sucks with your life so badly?"

message 11: by Kristi, Head Mod (new)

Kristi (derek1) | 356 comments Mod
Peter turned to face her, a scowl playing on his lips. "Whats it matter to you? I don't even know you. Let alone ever seen you around here. And everyone knows everybody around here."

message 12: by Emma (new)

Emma "People matter to me. Life matters to me. And what can I say? I blend in, and I'm new." She smiled at him, and shrugged.

message 13: by Kristi, Head Mod (new)

Kristi (derek1) | 356 comments Mod
Peter looked her straight in the eyes. "Word of advice. Don't let people matter to you. Its not worth it in the end."

message 14: by Emma (new)

Emma She looked down, images and memories flashing through her brain. She stared at her ring to steel herself. "Everybody matters. I just take it more personally than is advised."

message 15: by Kristi, Head Mod (new)

Kristi (derek1) | 356 comments Mod
Peter scoffed. "Whatever," he muttered. He clenched his jaw, and his hand instantly went up to his sister's necklace. It hung beneath his shirt, just like always.

((do you want Peter to be Avis' target?))

message 16: by Emma (last edited Dec 25, 2013 07:36PM) (new)

Emma ((We could do that, maybe. And maybe she doesn't want to do it and it gets her in trouble?))

"What, no argument? Are you accepting that I'm right?" She fake gasped, teasing him and subconsciously fiddling with her ring. She still wore it as an engagement ring, even after all those years.

message 17: by Kristi, Head Mod (new)

Kristi (derek1) | 356 comments Mod
((sure!))

Peter clenched his hands into tight fists. His glare so fiery it could have melted ice. "Youre anything but right." He thought of leaving it at that, but decided against it. "Why are you still even over here? Cant you just leave a guy alone?"

message 18: by Emma (new)

Emma ((When would she find out?))

"if you're so uncomfortable, just leave." She said flatly. "I'm the one actually eating; I have more right to be here than you do."

message 19: by Kristi, Head Mod (new)

Kristi (derek1) | 356 comments Mod
((she would know. They tell them their targets names. so...once he finally admits his name, she would figure it out))

Peter stared at her. He wasn't generally used to a girl giving him additude. Usually it was the dumbass guys who wanted a fight just as bad as he did. He watched the girl, studying her. "Peter," he grunted. "Im Peter."

message 20: by Emma (new)

Emma ((ah, okay.))

She felt herself pale. Peter. That was the person....that was the guy whose soul she was supposed to take away. She swallowed and extended her hand across the table. "It's nice to meet you, Peter."

message 21: by Kristi, Head Mod (new)

Kristi (derek1) | 356 comments Mod
Peter didn't take her hand. He just stared at her. He had noticed her pale as soon as he had said his name. He knew something was up. "Cant say the feelings mutual."

message 22: by Emma (new)

Emma She took another bite if her sub, adjusting the way she was treating him to match his personality. "It's really just a formality." She said lightly, even though she almost took offence at his dismissal.

message 23: by [deleted user] (new)

Brandon walked into the sub shop, huming softly. He made his way to the counter. He ordered his food and looked around for a seat. It was all full.

message 24: by Emma (new)

Emma She noticed the other boy looking for a seat. "Would you mind too much letting someone else air down?" She asked even as she waved the standing person over.

message 25: by [deleted user] (new)

Brandon noticed Avis and walked over. He gave his best smile. "Thanks." He said as he sat down. "I'm Brandon."

Kristi (derek1) | 356 comments Mod
Peter stared at Avis, flipping his hand into the air, showing his frustration. "You've got to be kidding me," he said. It was bad enough Avis was here, yet now here she was, inviting someone else over.

message 27: by Emma (new)

Emma Avis giggled a little. She actually kind of liked peter. It was too bad she was supposed to reap his soul. "Sorry about Mr. Grouchy over there , Brendan. Go ahead and take a seat." She told him.

message 28: by Kristi, Head Mod (new)

Kristi (derek1) | 356 comments Mod
Peter made a face. "Don't call me that," he said. He knew it was a true enough thing to call him, but he still didn't like her calling him it.

message 29: by Emma (new)

Emma "Aww, does it make you more grouchy?" She asked, still laughing. That was the best way to deal with grouchy people, in her opinion. By being happy.

message 30: by Kristi, Head Mod (new)

Kristi (derek1) | 356 comments Mod
Peter gave her a look. Yet, for some reason, it didn't seem very whole hearted. Part of him liked this girl. She gave him crap right back. He was not used to that, and although he wasn't quite sure he liked it, he at least thought she had some spunk.

message 31: by Emma (last edited Dec 26, 2013 03:04PM) (new)

Emma The look just made her laugh harder. "That doesn't exactly make you look attractive, you know. So I'm not quite sure what you're going for there." She told him after she recovered.

message 32: by Kristi, Head Mod (new)

Kristi (derek1) | 356 comments Mod
Peter sighed and shook his head. The ghost of a smile played on his lips. He stared at her, trying to figure her out

message 33: by Emma (new)

Emma She grinned and raised her eyebrows. "An actual smile. Wow. Almost feels like an accomplishment!" She sang, studying his aura. It was gradually growing lighter, the black turning into a deep blue.

message 34: by Kristi, Head Mod (new)

Kristi (derek1) | 356 comments Mod
Peter flipped her off, but playfully. Then he heard her sing songy voice and he actually let a deep chuckle that rumbled in his chest

message 35: by [deleted user] (new)

Brandon sat quietly and enjoyed his burger. As much as he couldn't help listening into their conversation, he didn't want to interrupt them.

message 36: by Emma (new)

Emma She smiled wider before her face fell, thinking about what she would have to do. She lapsed into silence, not knowing what to say... at all, really. She frowned slightly.

message 37: by Kristi, Head Mod (new)

Kristi (derek1) | 356 comments Mod
Peter saw the fall of her face. "Hey, aren't you spossed to be the happy one? Why the frown?"

((I g2g. Ill be back when I can))

message 38: by Emma (new)

Emma ((Okay.))

"Oh, nothing. I just, um, realized something, is all. Bad news, I suppose." She said vaguely.

message 39: by Kristi, Head Mod (new)

Kristi (derek1) | 356 comments Mod
Peter didn't buy it. He's lied his whole life and what she just said was a complete lie. He didn't say anything to her about it, but it was in his eyes.

message 40: by Emma (new)

Emma She looked down. " so, Peter. Does that lovely bike outside belong to you?" She asked gesturing to the motorcycle.

message 41: by Kristi, Head Mod (new)

Kristi (derek1) | 356 comments Mod
Peter followed her gesture. When he looked back at her, he had a curious look on his face. "Yeah. Why?" he asked, a single eyebrow raised.

message 42: by Emma (new)

Emma She shrugged. "Just making conversation. And it's a good bike." She said, from what little she knew, at least, it was a nice bike.

message 43: by Kristi, Head Mod (new)

Kristi (derek1) | 356 comments Mod
"Good bike? Its top-notch. Took years to get that thing," he said, appalled. He stared at her in shock. "I get you're a girl, but girls need to know cars. Bikes too."

message 44: by Emma (new)

Emma "Why on earth would I need to know cars? They emit noxious gases, kill people, and my legs get me places just fine." She replied, she felt strongly about the topic and anxious around cars, since that had been what killed her. Strangely enough, she was fine around motorcycles, for the most part.

message 45: by Kristi, Head Mod (new)

Kristi (derek1) | 356 comments Mod
Peter shook his head. "Don't be such a tree hugger. And people only die when idiots decide they should be driving. Cars are like people. Each and every one is different. Has advantages and disadvantages, and all that crap." He thought about it for a second, then pulled out his keys. He slid them across the table. "Try it. Go for a spin. Youll understand what I mean."

message 46: by Emma (new)

Emma Her eyes widened and she basically froze. "I really have no idea how to drive anything. So, I'd really rather not." Even if she wouldn't die from it, she'd probably crash and it would probably hurt like hell.

message 47: by Kristi, Head Mod (new)

Kristi (derek1) | 356 comments Mod
"Then, I'll show you how," Peter replied. He stood up, picked up his keys and stood there, watching her. "I promise nothing bad will happen if that's what youre worried about."

message 48: by Emma (new)

Emma "And how do I know that that's something you can promise?" She asked warily, keeping her gaze on him but not moving.

message 49: by Kristi, Head Mod (new)

Kristi (derek1) | 356 comments Mod
"I may be an ass, but Im not a reckless ass," he said in reply, his tone level. "Besides, Im still alive, aren't I? Tend on living much longer and no bike accident is gonna be the death of me."

message 50: by Emma (new)

Emma She sighed but got up anyways, "that doesn't mean it won't be the death of me."
