Tara ♪ | 445 comments Personally, the best thing I've heard about plot twists came from a NaNo author pep talk. She (don't remember exactly who) said to list ALL of the characters in your book. Not just the major ones, the minors, too! Then, close your eyes and point to two characters. The two randomly selected characters are a part of your plot twist! Whether they fall in love or attempt to poison each other is up to you, but it's really a great start! :)

Irene (wingdesilverii) | 2500 comments I always think about where my characters are, really take thought to their surroundings. You can always bring something new in based on the surroundings, which sounds boring but it can spark a new idea. Also, really emotionally tight scenes help me create the rest of the plot that is centered around that particular point. Now, I'm not saying I will always keep that scene but writing one packed with emotions always seems to help me see something new.
