Josiah (kenjenningsjeopardy74) Thank you. :-) It just takes practiced familiarity with the words. I'm not fluent in Latin by any stretch, but I do love reading about the language and learning new words and phrases that take a dust rag to certain cobwebbed corners of thought which English can't quite reach.

Does anyone have any tips on how to understand Wuthering Heights?--I'm having a hard time comprehending what the text is actually saying. I'm not used to old English yet because I've only just started reading classics. :(

Lizzy wrote: "Yep. Sure have. Yeah; it's fantastic! You should catch up and watch it, Layla. There's 3 seasons and we're on a break right now until Jan. It's about a cop that can see creatures, wesin, that most ..."
One the creatures are called Vermin
Two Nick, is a Grimm. He can see Vermin, adn his ancestors are known for killing Vermin
I love that show. :) Sorry, just felt like explaining things....

message 23: by Natasha S ♥ (new)

Natasha S ♥ (tashieareads) I think that's a type of Vermin / Vesin (Whatever it is XD )

Josiah (kenjenningsjeopardy74) Tonight at 7 P.M., I'll be meeting the greatest Jeopardy! player in history, Ken Jennings, on tour to promote his new Junior Genius Guide books, Maps and Geography and Greek Mythology. This just as he prepares to take part in the forty-five player tournament commemorating the thirtieth anniversary of Jeopardy! I wonder if the book tour is conflicting with his study schedule.

Naura Heyy everyone :D
This thread seems silent......:P

Josiah (kenjenningsjeopardy74) The Ken Jennings event was one of my all-time favorite at Anderson's bookshop. He signed and personalized four books for me, and even talked Jeopardy! with me while he signed. I informed him of the results of that week's start to the Battle of the Decades tournament, which he had missed because of being on the book tour, and we discussed wagering strategy in relation to player position in each game. I never thought I would have such a conversation with Ken Jennings! :-)

Josiah (kenjenningsjeopardy74) To me, it was right up there with the best author events I've attended, including ones for Christopher Paul Curtis, Laurie Halse Anderson, Patricia MacLachlan, Tom Angleberger, Rebecca Stead, Jacqueline Woodson and Neal Shusterman. Next Tuesday we're going to see Sheila Turnage, author if 2013 Newbery Honor recipient Three Times Lucky.
