Children's Playground

message 2: by Lynn (new)

Lynn (papergalaxies) Elijah quietly walked down the sidewalk with his hands tucked in his pockets. He glanced around, spotting a bench and walked over to it and sat down. He liked to come here and think sometimes, just to get away from everything else.

message 3: by Fenestra (new)

Fenestra | 34 comments Ellison had been leaning against the back of the bench bench, talking softly on her cell phone. "... No... I'll be fine if you come home late... I know how to lock a damned door... Fine... Love you too, Dad." Stuffing the piece of technology back into her pocket, Elle ran a stressed hand through her thick hair, almost missing the boy that sat down. She sighed. This would be awkward.

"Do you mind if I sit here?" She addressed him, British accent coating her English. She had learned in Hong Kong after all, and it had been a colony... "I won't bother you," the brunette gave a disarming grin, "I just need to sit and rest for a minute."

message 4: by Lynn (new)

Lynn (papergalaxies) Elijah shook his head, "...oh, no by all means, have a seat, i don't mind a bit." He answered, giving a small smile. He glanced around the trees, his hand reflexively messing with the dog tags on the chair around his neck.

message 5: by Fenestra (new)

Fenestra | 34 comments "Thanks so much." She heaved a sigh of relief, taking her cue to sit down. "I lied about bothering you by the way-- I'm Ellison." Giving an impish smile, the brunette stuck out a slim hand, eyes crinkling warmly.

message 6: by Lynn (new)

Lynn (papergalaxies) Elijah shrugged "....its okay, sometimes company is nice.....I'm Elijah" he answered, shaking her hand carefully, he didn't want to hurt her.

message 7: by Fenestra (new)

Fenestra | 34 comments "So what brings you around here Elijah? I'm usually all by myself watching the little ones on the playground." Ellison chuckled, leaning back against the sturdy wood.

message 8: by Lynn (new)

Lynn (papergalaxies) Elijah sighs, running a hand through his slightly shaggy blonde hair. "...no reason really...just walking around, thinking and stuff." He answers.

message 9: by Fenestra (new)

Fenestra | 34 comments Blinking, Elle 'a dark eyelashes brushed her cheeks as she fell into silence. Her eyes followed the children playing on the slide, her long legs crossing casually.

message 10: by Lynn (new)

Lynn (papergalaxies) Elijah glanced around quietly. His mind was screaming at him, telling him to get up and leave before they talked more. No one in no one gets hurt. He ignored it, just sitting around talking a bit surely wouldn't be of no harm, she was a stranger to him. He probably wouldn't ever even see her again after this. He sighed and glanced forwards, looking at the clear blue sky. "....its a nice day, huh." He commented, trying to make small talk.

message 11: by Fenestra (new)

Fenestra | 34 comments "It is!" Elle agreed softly, shoving her bangs out of her face. "There are a lot of people here today. I guess everyone came out of the woodwork for the 65 degree weather."

message 12: by Lynn (new)

Lynn (papergalaxies) Elijah nodded, "...yeah...its not often we get such good weather.." He idly messed with the frayed hem at the bottom of his grey shir.

message 13: by Fenestra (new)

Fenestra | 34 comments After a beat of silence, Ellison burst into laughter. "We're so awkward." As she leaned forward to regain her breath, her cropped jacket shifted to reveal the nine millimeter stuffed into her waistband. "Here we are talking about the weather like we've forgotten how to converse at all!"

message 14: by Lynn (new)

Lynn (papergalaxies) Elijah sighed, she had basically hit the nail on the head. It had been a long time since he'd really spoken to anyone, he had basically forgot. He glanced over at her, his eyes widening a bit when he spotted the gun. He kept quiet, showing no signs he had even saw it. One thing was for sure, his mind was definitely in over drive now, wondering exactly what this mysterious girls game was.

message 15: by Fenestra (new)

Fenestra | 34 comments Elle saw his expression and became sombre. "Ah. Don't worry about that. My dad is paranoid." She pulled a license out of her jeans pocket. "I'm legal to carry. I like to think it's a bit more effective than pepper spray." She finished wryly.

message 16: by Lynn (new)

Lynn (papergalaxies) Elijah nodded, "...ah...sorry, I've just grown to expect the worse after a few advents.." He sighed, pulling a loose thread from his shirt. He looked around the park, trying to keep his mind from wondering.

message 17: by Fenestra (new)

Fenestra | 34 comments "Tell me about it..." Elle trailed off, tone slightly darkened as her eyes followed the repetitive motion of a swing set nearby.

message 18: by Lynn (new)

Lynn (papergalaxies) Elijah shrugged, "...not much to tell...my brother was in the army, he got a little too comfortable around guns and it ended in his doom....i just don't trust them." He sighed, touching the smooth metal of the dog tags as he remembered.

message 19: by Fenestra (new)

Fenestra | 34 comments "I grew up around them." Ellison offered up distantly. "My mother was a member of the Triads in Hong Kong. Comfort around firearms was basically a prerequisite to being her child." A humorless laugh escaped her mouth.

message 20: by Lynn (new)

Lynn (papergalaxies) Elijah nodded, "...i guess it all depends on the scene." He said blankly.

message 21: by Fenestra (new)

Fenestra | 34 comments "If it helps, my dad is the Chief of Police. I promise I'm here legally." A dry retort.

message 22: by Lynn (new)

Lynn (papergalaxies) Elijah nods, "...i don't doubt that....i may be backwards here but its not the person behind the machine i distrust. I distrust the machine its self.."

message 23: by Fenestra (new)

Fenestra | 34 comments "I guess we'll agree to disagree on this one." Elle's lips quirked to the side in a weary smile as she recalled Fang's obvious murderous intent as he shot his brother in cold blood. She shuddered.

message 24: by [deleted user] (new)

Zoey got out of her car and headed into the park. She needed to clear her head before moving onto her next assignment. She walked on into the park, passing people barely noticing anyone.

message 25: by Fenestra (new)

Fenestra | 34 comments Ellison occupied herself briefly by braiding and unbraiding a small strand of hair. She hadn't realized a trip to the park would bring up the Chinese Mob, she mused.

message 26: by [deleted user] (new)

Zoey picked a spot to settle down, not far from Ellison. She looked at the last message on her phone. It was her next assignment. "Like hell I'm actually gonna do it." She said to herself and tossed her phone aside in the grass.

message 27: by Fenestra (new)

Fenestra | 34 comments Elle spotted the other girl and snickered. Maybe her parents had asked her to get something from the store...

(Lol... Oh Elly...)

message 28: by [deleted user] (new)

Zoey noticed Elle for the first time. "It's not some grocery shopping or anything, if that's what you think it is." She realized after she said it that she'd read Elle's mind.

message 29: by Fenestra (new)

Fenestra | 34 comments Elle paused. "Oh dear..." A brief chuckle escaped her lips. "Are you a mind reader?" She teased.

message 30: by [deleted user] (last edited Dec 28, 2013 11:41PM) (new)

"No!" Zoey said quickly. She scoured her mind to find something right to say. "Um, a lucky guess, actually."

message 31: by Fenestra (new)

Fenestra | 34 comments "I'm sorry for eavesdropping, by the way." Elle gave a sincere grin.

message 32: by [deleted user] (new)

Zoey sighed. "Its okay." She looked up at Elle. "I'm Zoey."

message 33: by Fenestra (new)

Fenestra | 34 comments "I'm Ellison." She reached out a hand to Zoey. "Nice to meet you."

message 34: by [deleted user] (new)

Zoey hesitated before taking her hand. "You too."

message 35: by Fenestra (new)

Fenestra | 34 comments ((I have to leave. D:))

"So. We were just discussing how gorgeous it is outside." Elle gestures subtly to Elijah.

message 36: by [deleted user] (new)

((K. Bye))

"Yeah. Guess it is." Zoey said, though she didn't really feel it being that 'gorgeous'. Zoey nodded towards Elijah. "Who's your friend?"

((We'll just wait for Triseaton3 to get on))

message 37: by Lynn (new)

Lynn (papergalaxies) ((Sorry, i fell asleep last night! ))

Elijah had basically been spaced out, lost in thought. He tended to do that quite often ever since the incidents. It was doubtful he would ever get over them, after all it had been about nine years since it had happened. He snapped out of the daze and glanced over, surprised to see another girl. ".....oh, um, sorry about that...I'm Elijah." She would probably think he was rude or something since he hadn't talked to her till now, he wondered how long she had been sitting there.

message 38: by [deleted user] (new)

"Hello, Elijah." Zoey smiled. "And no, I don't think it was rude that you weren't paying attention." She realized after saying that she'd done it again, she'd read his mind. Damn it!

message 39: by Lynn (new)

Lynn (papergalaxies) Elijah paused for a minute, wondering how she knew what he had been thinking, he figured he'd been thinking aloud again. He seemed to of been doing that lately. He looked away, "....oh, okay....good."

message 40: by [deleted user] (new)

Zoey looked away too, thinking about her assignment for today. Soon she won't have a choice but to do it. But until then she could keep herself busy. "So, um, how are you?"

message 41: by Lynn (new)

Lynn (papergalaxies) Elijah sighed as he watched a few kids on the playground. "....I'm good...what about you?" He answered, trying yo make it so there was no awkward pauses. The whole time his mind was going into over drive two people in one day, you cant be serious. You need to go back to being by yourself no one gets hurt that way.

message 42: by [deleted user] (new)

"Um, okay, I guess." Zoey replied not feeling okay at all. Her mind kept going to her assignment. She looked around to where she'd dropped her phone. It wasn't there anymore. "Hey where'd my phone go?"

((Gotta go!))

message 43: by Lynn (new)

Lynn (papergalaxies) Elijah glanced over, he frowned a bit, "....someone probably found it laying around." He sighed, "...you gatta watch people...you never know what they will do.."

((Kk))

message 44: by Fenestra (new)

Fenestra | 34 comments "Do you want help looking for it?" Ellison offered politely, eyes crinkling in that signature warm smile.

message 45: by [deleted user] (new)

"oh, that'd be wonderful!" Zoey got up to look for her phone. she couldn't lose it. the council had given to her in particular after she died. Zoey didn't want to think what would happen if she lost it.

message 46: by Fenestra (new)

Fenestra | 34 comments "Happy to." Ellison responded shortly, unfolding herself from the bench to begin her search. The grass was a bit long over here... Maybe it just got covered? Stepping carefully and observing the ground while she walked, her eyes darted around.

message 47: by Lynn (new)

Lynn (papergalaxies) Elijah sighed and stood up, "...ill go check by the playground....one of the kids might of picked it up.."

message 48: by [deleted user] (new)

Zoey looked everywhere, but she knew it was useless. she'd lost her phone, and now she was worse than dead. it didn't just have the names of humans she had taken the soul of, but even her future victims. if any human found her phone, it would be the end of her.

message 49: by Lynn (new)

Lynn (papergalaxies) Elijah looked around the playground, searching for anything that might be a sign of the missing phone.

message 50: by [deleted user] (new)

Zoey sat back down on the bench. she put her head in her hands. "oh,I'm in so much trouble." she said.
