Series I'd Like to Complete this Year
(in no particular order):
I chose mostly MG & YA titles because they are shorter series, they have been on my TBR pile for a while, and they seem to be a good way for me to get my feet wet with this challenge.
2nd Tier (or 2015) Choices (again in no particular order):

I've added the Nerds series to my TBR. Sounds interesting. I'm not much into YA stuff, but sometimes I hit on one that I really like. :)

I like this whole collecting points concept and it might get me reading series again. Trying to resist the temptation...
Homeinmyshoes wrote: "I like this whole collecting points concept and it might get me reading series again. Trying to resist the temptation..."LOL Resistance is futile! :D
My only concern about collecting the points, was what to do with them.
I didn't find the act of collecting them, by itself, very motivating, which is why I added the "currency" aspect.
Since I earned 292 points during my best month this year (January), and my average series read is worth 35 points, I've decided to set the price of a NSC (New Series Credit) at 350 points for 2015. That means I have to fully read and review a minimum of 10 books, before I can purchase a NSC.
Right now, I will still be able to gain NSC's by meeting my monthly goal and by finishing series, however, I'm wondering if I should drop the monthly goal NSC and make myself have to buy them instead.... I'm not exactly sure exactly how challenging I want to make this next year.
Ooooohhh, levels. Awesome. Someone needs to build the level list. Something like 250 points per level. Given that you can lose points for starting a new series it might be possible to be a -4 Barbarian. I'm totally doing that. I'm such a geek, but I'll make my own scoring system because I've got some ideas.

Since Chris has decided that 2015 will be simpler and since we are encouraged to make adjustments as we like,I'm up for tweaking my own challenge, as long as I have it set by December 30th.
I'm hoping not to change anything from New Years Eve, on.

I’m doing this challenge in addition to my general 2014 Reading Challenge.
I'm also listing all books read for the year on my MobileRead post in the 2014 Reading Challenge List Thread.
Total Points Earned to Date: 787 || Points Spent: 500 || Points Remaining: 287
New Series Credits Earned: 4 || Credits Purchased: 2 || Credits Used: 3 || Credits Available: 3
Number of Series Completed: 01
Number of Series Abandoned: 00
Scoring Chart [Revised 03/10/14]:
1. Complete your monthly goal = 50 points.
If your goal is one series book/month, you will get this 50 upon completion of that book. If your goal is 2 books/month, you will get the 50 after finishing both. There aren't partial points, so if you only finish one, you won't get the 50.
2. Read any book in a series that isn't the 1st = 10 points.
3. Re-read the first book in a series = 10 points.
Explanation:(view spoiler)[The thought here is that you might re-read a first book in order to refresh your memory in preparation for continuing with unread series books. So no penalty for doing that. Re-reads of books beyond the first will simply score as regular series books in #2. (hide spoiler)]
4. Read the 1st book in a new series = -10 points.
Explanation:(view spoiler)[This isn't to discourage new series as much as it is intended to curb obsessive series starting and not finishing. This penalty is waived when using an earned credit. (hide spoiler)]
-Books chosen for FoF group reads are exempt from this penalty and may be read without using a credit.
-Books chosen as Group Reads for a group other than FoF will incur a 1/2 penalty of -5 points.
5. Read the 1st book in a new series after monthly goal is reached = 10 points.
Explanation:(view spoiler)[This simply cancels out the penalty from starting a new series, since you earned the right to do so. (hide spoiler)]
6. Write a review of your series book = 25 points.
7. Complete a small series (3-4 books) = 20 points.
8. Complete a large series (5-9 books) = 30 points.
9. Complete a huuuge series (10 or more books) = 40 points.
10. Complete a book and its sequel (2 book series) = 10 points.
11. Begin a sub-series = 10 points.
12. Complete a sub-series (2 or more books) = 20 points.
13. Complete a big series that has 2 or more sub-series = 20 points.
14. Read a stand-alone that takes place in the same world as the main series = 10 points.
Additional Rules [Revised: 03/10/14]
. A New Series Credit can be purchased for 250 points.
. Abandoned Series: Must read a minimum of 2 books to earn 1/2 the normal "Complete a Series" points (based on the number of books already published at the time the series was abandoned).
. Short Stories equal 2 points each. Five short stories equals one series book read.
. Short Reviews & Reviews for Short Stories = 15 points
. Completing a series of 3 or more earns 1 bonus "New Series" credit.
