City of Ashes ~ Who Will Play Sebastian?

you just made me laugh insanely hard for some reason. Thanks. Anyway, I don't really know why but I'd like for Sebastian to be played by some up-and-coming actor, not someone who is very well known.
Mr. Bean I think would make a great Sebastian! No.Kiss me if I'm wrong, but Sebastian isn't even in CoA, so why is there a big debate about who is going to play him in CoA? I'm confused.
Actually, now you mention it, I hear that CoA and CoG are going to be one movie, as in 'made as one'. Which will just ruin everything. City of Glass is the highlight of this series so far. And they're going to ruin it. Just like they did with CoB.
Oh great. While I'm sure that it's possible that this movie could be better than COB, thats probably not going to happen. COG was the best book so far and it just seems like a kind of- insult to it to downgrade it to a combined movie. And even if it is the worst movie of the year, I think that as long as I have the books, I can always restore my faith in the mortal instruments because they are just that good.
I haven't seen the first one. I wanted to until I saw the cast and I've heard a lot of bad things about it.
It is awful. You should see it though, otherwise if City of Ashes is better - and I highly doubt it - then you will have to go through the torture of watching it anyway. Yep. The cast is awful too. They got every character wrong in every way possible. Don't even get me started on Jace.
Despite how much I love the book, the movie was just... Ugh!
That's why I'm so reluctant to see it. I don't want my view of the characters to be ruined by the movie. They got them all so wrong.
It was too long (2 hours 30 minutes) and badly scripted, if even it was scripted at all. I was like that at first - the faces of the characters still haunted me until two weeks after having seen the movie. After seeing the movie, I'd planned to re-read the series until the release of City of Heavenly Fire. It's now December. The movie came out in August, and I've literally only just started reading City of Bones. What does that tell you? I couldn't read a book where everything was just completely different, so I had to wait a few months for the movie to fully banish from my mind.
The top two actors that people/fans are advocating the most to play Seb are Evan Peters and Ben Barnes.
Evan Peters has played similar characters to Seb, with the whole 'creepy, devilish' vibe, and he's got the hair for it. Ben Barnes, in my opinion, is too...old? Clean cut? I mean, sure he played Dorian Gray, but Seb is a different role in many ways.
What do you guys think?

I think Colin Morgan would be excellent in this role - he's really versatile, and would give the character depth.

Oh, wait. Sebastian is in City of Ashes. Clary dreams of him thinking it is Simon
No, they don't literally go to Idris. Clary dreams of dancing in the Hall of Accords with Jace, and then he spins away and Sebastian takes his place
Oh, City of Fallen Angels by far. If I'm being honest, despite how much I love this series, that book bored me out of my mind. Only when Sebastian was resurrected did I suddenly fall in love with it
I wanted Alex Pettyfer to play Jace. I think he looks like Sebastian, but not sure if he can play the serious role. But Alex Pettyfer is a close replica of Jamie Campbell Bower and I could see Clary getting them mixed up. Alexander Ludwig played Cato in Hunger Games and could definitely pull off the bad guy that Sebastian is.
I wasn't personally thrilled when I learned that Jamie Campbell Bower was playing Jace. Jace is supposed to be hot and have more meat on him, like the actor that is playing Alec. Although what Jamie lacks in looks, he totally made up for in his acting and action scenes. And I was disappointed that Clary didn't have redder hair. I love Lilly Collins as an actress, but Clary is supposed to have bright red flaming hair. You can even see the color on the cover of the books.
The actors that played Luke, Simon, Magnus and Alec were spot-on.
This is what I imagined Sebastian looking like (this is the character Sephiroth from the Final Fantasy VII video game):http://k-koji.deviantart.com/art/Gene...

I can't see either one of those actors playing Sebastian. Ben Barnes looks too nice and Evan Peters is not good-looking enough.

This had me LMBO. Mr Bean is hilarious! Atleast Sebastian would have a sense of humor! LOL
This is what I have always imagined Sebb looks like. Conor McLain is not an actor; he's a dancer. But he is bloody gorgeous and has Sebastian's looks also. And his war face.

I could definitely see Ezra Miller playing Sebastian. He is a great actor and I KNOW he could pull it off!http://themortalinstitute.blogspot.co...

I looked, and at first I thought "No. Just ... NO!" And then I saw this http://healthyceleb.com/wp-content/up... and I was like "Okaaaaaay, then ..."
I watched Ezra Miller in The Perks of Being a Wallflower and We Need to Talk about Kevin. He is a great actor. And I think he looks like a dark-haired version of Jamie Campbell Bower. Of course he would have to dye his hair blond or white for the role.
He has Sebby's looks. I've never seen him act, so for all I know he could talk in a really high-pitch, which would be kinda funny. If the choice was to be made out those two - Ezra Miller and Dylan O' Bryan or whatever he's called - I'd choose Ezra.
I love Evan Peters! Watching him play the bad guy in American Horror Story has made me associate him with Sebastian.
I saw the movie before I read the book CoB, I'm truly glad I did. I would have been VERY upset with the way it ended for Jace and Clary. I probably wouldn't have read any of the other books. But since I did see the movie, I waiting on pins and needles for the next movie.

'"The Mortal Instruments: City of Ashes", the second book is set to be released by next year, 2014. A new addition to the cast would include the much awaited older brother of "Clary Fray" who instead of angel blood would have "demon" blood in him.
The scenes from the new book would also include a glimpse of "Idris" the world of the "Shadowhunters" who are nephilims, warriors born with Angel blood in their veins.
Lily Collins and Jamie Campbell Bower will both reprise their roles as Clary Fray (Clarrisa Adele Morgenstern) and Jace Lightwood (Jonathan Herondale) - yet Jace is known by many other names in the books.
The question now is who will be playing the role of Clary's brother-who is angelic in beauty yet evil inside and would also look much like their father Valentine, which is played by Jonathan Rhys Meyers, father of Clary and Jonathan.
Jonathan Christopher Morgenstern is still being talked over by the producers of the franchise and they want to get him exactly as portrayed by author of the book Cassandra Clare. Many have expressed their views that actors such as Alex Pettyfer and Chace Crawford would be much suitable for the roles. However, as in the case of looking for the perfect "Christian Grey", looking for an actor to best play the role of "Jonathan Christopher Morgenstern" would mean he should not be affiliated with any other shows.
The movie, "The Mortal Instruments: City of Ashes" is to start filming in 2014 and they are trying to make it more understandable by fans of the book. A number of fans who have seen the film were not quite pleased with the first film.
There will definitely be another movie, "City of Ashes" but this has yet to be announced.
The latest book in "The Mortal Instruments" which is "City of Heavenly Fire" is said to be the last book for the Mortal Instruments series and will be released this year 2014 for all fans to enjoy the love between Clary and Jace.'
