Manifestation of the Entities:
The Eight Deities have been followed throughout the history of the realm, their stories told and their figures worshiped for centuries. They have not always appeared to the people of Summerland in these forms however. In the beginning there remained one entity, Miela the Mother God. When the original founders of the Summerlands waged battles against each other for the right to worship the Mother God, Miela knew she must act in order to save the innocent. And so she split herself into eight deities. Each God taking their own place amongst the Summerlands, being worshiped by individuals and groups alike.
Individual Deities:
Eira - Formed from Miela's love for the world around her Eira became the Goddess of Nature and Springtime. For those that have seen her physical form Eira appears to people as a white swan with a golden bill. It is said that Miela made her first as the nature of the Summerlands had needs beyond those of the people. The worship of Eira has since increased with the presence of the everlasting winter, many people pray to her for summer and springtime once again.
Mecrios- Made from the heart of Miela, Mecrios is the god of Mercy and Justice, he seeks to find cause and reasoning in the Summerlands. Many courthouses and judges have shrines to Mecrios and many carry talismans of the god with the hope it will bring them luck in war or travels. The worship of Mecrios is carried out mainly by those who seek mercy and who seek justice for something they have not done. Often worshiped by the innocent as opposed to the guilty, Mecrios appears as a young man who always carries a scroll.
Cronos- The God of War, Cronos was made from Miela's very own sword. He appears as a warrior with a blade of fire and seeks to wage war amongst the lands. Despite her hate for conflict Miela created Cronos in order to bring peace to the land through acts of war. His worship is widely dispersed between soldiers and arms men alike, with many asking for blessings from Cronos before going to fight. He is said to bring luck to those who truly need it when on the field of Battle.
Feyaa- Made from Miela's beauty, Feyaa appears as a young beautiful woman in a robe of silk and lace. She is worshiped mainly by the young women of the Summerlands who seek to find husbands or princes to marry. Feyaa is a good goddess and receives very little dispute amongst the land unlike some of the other gods. Many people will be wed in Feyaa's temples and those looking to meet a partner in the world will often carry amulets or talismans that hold special significance to this god. Miela created Feyaa so they beauty would always exist in the world.
Lucosto- This God appears to people in the form of an owl, he wise beyond his years with knowledge that stretches for eons. Formed from Miela's very own mind and age old intelligence Lucosto is the god of knowledge and wisdom. His worship is widely carried out in schools and colleges where students seek guidance and help in their work. Lucosto was created so that knowledge would never leave the Summerlands. He is not a vengeful god and seeks to help people where he can. His worship has helped many people to gain wisdom and knowledge in the Summerlands.
Amia- The Goddess of Fertility was born from Miela in order to extend the youth and children among the realm. She is a beautiful goddess, appearing as a young woman who carries a wreath of nettles, said to help promote fertility. Amia is worshiped by those wishing to conceive and by many who pray for the gender of their children. She is a kind god and is most closely linked with Eira, the two are blood sisters of sorts though of course all gods came from the origin.
Thyuen- Worshipped by those who seek to make good business and have a worthy commerce, Thyuen is the God of Work and Manufacture. He appears as a young man, holding two scales to balance them, this is the figure which is often worshiped. His shrines and statues will usually be seen in company buildings but also in small shops where workers look to Thyuen for motivation. He is not always a kind god though and often takes amusement in watching businesses fail, those who worship him tend to be very generous with their gifts and prayers.
Heirten- The God of Life and Death Heirten's input into the Summerlands is crucial, despite her uneasiness about creating Heirten, Miela eventually made the God of Life and Death from her own breath. Heirten appears as a ghostly figure of a young man, his features are not unattractive but not attractive either and he is said to appear in the last breaths of the dying. Heirten is not widely worshiped in the Summerlands, aside from those wanting to live longer or to contact lost love ones. He is not vengeful but he is not kind either and though his worship is carried out he rarely answers to peoples prayers.
