E M M A Sutton had finally arrived with Hugh at their high-end luxurious beach house, and he had just come down to the pier and boardwalk to take in the sights and smells. He leaned over the wooden rails, inhaling the fresh ocean spray that splashed over the rocks far below. There were many people out and about at this time of day, many of them tourists or residents. He made friendly conversation with the old man fishing beside him, talking about how lovely the weather was, and what kind do fish lived in these parts. Sutton was in a particularly good mood today, since the flight had landed early and without incident, and Hugh had been somewhat agreeable after the flight.

Ty was walking along the pier too, a tradition that she always did before she kicked off her summer. Her slow stroll was always interrupted by her stops in the stores she passed. Ty couldn't help it. There was always some tank top or pair of shorts that she seemed to like. But, according to tradition, the first stroll down the boardwalk was too be taken in order to enjoy the view and the smell of the ocean. Therefore, she had made sure not to bring her wallet. The only thing she was carrying with her were her car keys since the pier was outside of town. As she reached the end of the pier, where she saw many people fishing and doing the same thing she was, Ty did what everyone else did and propped her elbows on the railing, looking out into the ocean.

((Question: Are we going to have Ty and Sutton already know each other? :) ))

E M M A ((SORRY HAHA it's from my other rp, I got mixed!))
Sutton wave goodbye to the old man, flashing one last smile at him before wandering back down the pier. He reduced his polo shirt into his nearly pressed slacks, and ran a hand through his well groomed hair. Not a strand out of place. He spotted a girl by herself, and though to make the most of his pier visit. Naturally, he came beside the girl and leaned in a similar fashion against the pier rail, following her gaze out to the ocean. "It's a lovely day, isn't it?" He smiled, turning slightly towards her. She seemed like she could use some company, and sutton decided he'd be that company.

((LOLOL :) ))

Ty involuntarily turned in surprise at the sound of a voice. "Oh, hi," she smiled. "Yeah, it is. It's the perfect day to kick off summer," Ty commented, turning a little to address him while still facing the ocean. She noticed how the guy was dressed very nice for just a walk on the pier. Or maybe that was just her. She was more of a comfy and cute girl, meaning she was wearing a simple tank, shorts, flip flops and sunglasses while her hair was down freely to blow in the wind.

E M M A Sutton gave his natural grin, showing his dimples and a twinkle reflecting in his eye. "Absolutely," he agreed, gazing down into the water like before. "So how are you? Doing well, I suppose?" He inquired, his tone friendly and easy going. It was a beautiful day, and he could spend hours talking to this female. She seemed bright enough to suit him, and she didn't seem like the quiet type that never talked.

Ty also noticed how good looking this guy was. Yet, he was also uber nice and actually made an effort to talk with people. "Eh," she shrugged, "I guess so. I mean I can't complain," Ty answered truthfully. It was true though. She wasn't starving or homeless. And she got to meet new awesome people here every summer. "I'm Tyelar by the way. But my friends call me Ty," she stuck her hand out for him to shake.

message 8: by E M M A (new)

E M M A Sutton nodded to we response, oblivious to her awe. "I guess so, being here is good enough for me," he looked up at the sky thoughtfully, wrinkling his nose as the sun shone in his eyes. "Pleased to meet you, Ty, Tylear," he said taking her hand in both of his, making a firm handshake. "I'm Sutton, live right up there," he pointed to the beach house that was up a ways and peeked out on the hillside. "Do you live around here? Or are you a visiter? Me and my family always come here every summer," e explained, tousling his hair and jamming his hands in his pockets.

((*Gasp* Sutton just messed up his hair!))

Sutton's grip was firm, saying he was a guy that wasn't a pushover. That's good. Her father always told her that a handshake could tell you a lot about a person. It was like another first impression. "Nice to meet you Sutton," she chuckled a little as he said both her nickname and real name. "Uh, I don't exactly live here. Me and my dad do the same thing you do and come here every summer for vacation. Our beach house is farther up, past yours," Ty pointed in the direction of his beach house and indicated farther, her car keys jangling in her hand.

message 10: by E M M A (new)

E M M A ((Oh snap xp))
He released her hand, appreciating that she smiled and would actually talk to her. Some people felt like he was weird or creepy for talking to strangers, but it's what he loved. "I see, that's a beautiful establishment, has a better view..."he nodded, approving. "Where are you originally from? my family is from out jn Las Vegas," he rested his elbows back on the pier, his arms folded across the rail.He noticed her keys hanging and decided to start up anothe lane of conversation. "You drove here? What kind of car do you have?"

((LOL :) ))

"Yeah, it is pretty nice," she smiled. Usually, Ty was more interesting to talk to, but because Sutton was someone she just met, all of her personality came out after the formalities. "Well I was born in Spain, but I moved to California when I was nine," she laughed a little and swept her hair to the side so that it wouldn't blow all crazy like in the wind. "Yeah, I drive anywhere that's out of town. It's a BMW M6 convertible," Ty said casually. She was almost hesitant to tell him because most people freaked out and asked how she had a car like that.

((Sure, but why do you think I'm going soon?))

message 12: by E M M A (new)

E M M A ((Just putting it out there! Around now, all my rps disappear because they fall asleep!! Also, I was thinking sutton to e with jade... And Hugh could be with Ty! I think she could break his shell, you know?))
"Spain? Really! I'd like to visit there, someday," he beamed. "Do you ever go back there, or...?" He asked. This conversation was going well, and he could relax and let her talk without fear of the conversation dying down. "I walked-" he laughed, shrugging, "- but I need the exercise more than you would," he joked, his hazel eyes overlooking the ocean as he talked, occasionally glancing back to Ty's. "BMW M6 convertible?" Sutton balked, his thick eyebrows raising halfway up his forehead. "Very nice, very classy," he nodded, turning on one side. "I drive nothing too fascinating, a Land Rover... But my car looks like a... Shopping cart compared to yours," he laughed, shaking his head.

((OH! Gotcha! Well, you aren't wrong because it's nearly 2 am over here.))
((OOOO!! I like that idea! Can Sutton and Ty still be best friends though?? And that's how she'll meet Hugh, and that's when they're epic love story will begin! Sorry, I'm a crazy romantic :) ))

"OH really? You should! It's amazing," Ty smiled, remembering old memories of playing at their old villa. "No, but I'd really love to go back. I haven't been back in... eight years." Ty was surprised at how easy the two of them were talking. It didn't feel awkward at all and they hadn't run out of things to say yet. "Nah, you don't need that much exercise. You look great to me," she complimented and grinned, not at all embarrassed at what she had said. Ty laughed loudly at his reaction, the loudest he has probably heard her since they started talking. "Oo, that's something a bit harsh to call your own car," she joked. Now was where it appeared Ty's joking nature was coming out. Plus, she was laughing more.

message 14: by E M M A (new)

E M M A ((YES THANK YOUthats an awesome idea! They'll start of as friends, and then maybe they can meet several times and stuff))
"I've heard! What part of Spain? My parents want to open a hotel there, but their interest in that has fallen off a cliff," he shrugged, an amused smile plastered onto his face. "Aw, thank you," sutton blushed at the compliment, smiling now like a fool. "You look great yourself, you don't need to be walking anywhere," he gestured to her, cracking at another grin. "She's my baby, it's okay, we have a tight relationship, like this," he raised an eyebrow, crossing his fingers together. "We've been through SO much," he joked, remembering all those drunk nights and fights with his brother or girlfriends that took place in that same car. "Would you care to walk with me along the beach?" He inquired.
((Post here though cause people are using beach thread))

((Ahaha yay!!! I already like Sutton and Ty together as besties :) I can already imagine them hanging out together and then... Hugh walks in))

((And also, since you said this, I'm going to bed soon so I'm going to start wrapping this up... for you!! :) ))

"In Barcelona," Ty answered. Sutton sure did ask a lot of questions, she noticed. "Oh, so your family is in the hotel business?" Ty suddenly got her amused grin on her face from seeing him blush, but it quickly turned into a silly grin from his own compliment. "Aw, thanks," Ty said in reply. "It's nice to hear you have such a great relationship with your car. I totally ship you too," she laughed at her own joke, something she did often. Then in response to his next inquiry "Oh, I would love to, Sutton. But I actually have to go and unpack my suitcase. Sorry, I just got here and if I don't do it now, I'll push it aside until summer ends." She pouted a little to show how sorry she was. "But why don't you give me your number?" Ty asked and pulled out her cell phone from her back pocket and handed it to him.

message 16: by E M M A (new)

E M M A ((Buh-BAM!))
((Okay thanks!!))
Sutton relaxed and leaned his back against the pier rail, nodding and listening to Ty speak. "Ah, it's alright," he smiled, a bit displeased that she would be leaving him as company. "Oh- of course! Maybe we can meet up again sometime," he took her cellphone, inputting his number as a contact before handing t back to her. "Have a safe drive, Tylear," he waved, biting his tongue. It was such a bad habit, telling people to have a safe drive after they left the casino. He shook his head, texting Hugh to tell him where he was.

((NO problemo :) ))

"Yeah, definitely," she grinned at him while taking her phone from his hand and sticking it back into her back pocket. It was, as she was told, something bad because you could break your phone like that. She never cared, it had never happened to her. Ty turned around and jogged back down the boardwalk to the parking lot. "Bye Sutton!" she shouted over her shoulder at him. Ty then climbed into her car and drove out and down the street in the direction of the beach house.

((And you spell her name Tyelar, fyi :) ))

Coral (counting_stars) Jade's white dress was long, clinging to her waist as it blew in the wind. Her sandy brown hair cascaded down her back. Her cousin was actually nice, this place was okay. But it wasn't Florida. Florida had been perfect...her family had been perfect. Stop. She couldn't think like that. One of the stages of grief was accepting a situation where your loved one is not there. Every time, she expected to see Lyndsey on the horizon, at the edge of the shore, watching her surf the waves. But Lyndsey wasn't here anymore, and she just had to accept the fact that she never would be.
Having just arrived, from a four hour plane ride, she was wiped out and her eyelids drooped as she walked across the pier. Again, it was beautiful. But it wasn't her home. Her cousin was trying to help her, but Jade was in pain every time she looked at one of her relatives. Their ordinary comforts had done little to make her feel better. She was all alone now. An orphan. Leaning against the railing, she looked out at the water, her eyes following the movement of various families and children. They were lucky, they had no idea what it was like.

message 19: by E M M A (new)

E M M A Sutton hung up on his brother, Hugh's anger already spinning out of control. What was he gonna do with his brother? He could never stay calm, or relax! He leaned against the pier, resting his head in his hands. It would be impossible. He hasn't realized with all the people milling about on the pier that a beautiful girl had been standing a yard away, overlooking the ocean. When he turned his head, he raised his eyebrows. She looked distraught, uncomfortable, uneasy. Sutton frowned, straightening and wandering casually towards the girl. "Good afternoon!" He smiled, waiting to see her reaction. There were just so many girls on the pier, he thought silently. He decided he'd see what her deal was, then begin the walk home along the beach. He didn't mind taking the shortcut, climbing the hill around the back way.

message 20: by Coral (last edited Jan 02, 2014 10:37AM) (new)

Coral (counting_stars) Jade wasn't exactly what you could call a kind soul, she used to be, at least towards her family. It was like she had a different life now. One that happiness and fun was not an emotion she experienced. Her life had been perfect. This was so unfair.
Startled by the sound of someone calling out to her, she unintentionally slammed her hands down on the wooden railing of the peer, cutting her finger open on a loose nail. Tempted to swear, Jade bit down on her lower lip, looking over at her intruder of peace. It was a guy, roughly around her own age if she had to guess. She so did not need this right now. "What do you want?" She said slowly, calmly, as she remained cool and collected. Didn't he realize she was new here?
This was exactly the type of guy she didn't want to run into. He was over enthusiastic, thinking man kind was his business, and it was his job to make everyone happy. Well, news flash. Nothing could make her happy, he was just making her angry.

message 21: by E M M A (new)

E M M A Sutton was a bit surprised at her reaction, but decided to pry further. Maybe something was bothering her. "Are you all right?" He frowned, approaching her. He craned his neck to see her hand, slightly bleeding. "Maybe we should get that washed, no? Just thought I'd comment to say hello, if that's alright with you," sutton teased, trying to do his best with her. It was like the old people that came to his casino, always grumpy and harrumphing. "I'm sutton, by the way," he mentioned, tempted to give her complimentary tickets to something. It usually worked.

message 22: by Coral (new)

Coral (counting_stars) "Never been better." Jade said through gritted teeth, forcing herself to look away from this Sutton. "Listen, you can't expect me to just tell you my life story and why I'm upset. No?" She arched her eyebrows upward, turning to look at him. He was handsome enough, she realized, as she ran her gaze lazily up and down his muscular body. "Jade. I'm new here. Just got here today." She offered a sweet smile, but she was being more mocking then actually smiling. "Hello to you too Sutton." Jade purred, trying out how his name sounded on her lips. He was obviously the type of guy that loved to please, thinking it was his job to make everyone in the world happy.

message 23: by E M M A (new)

E M M A Sutton almost let out a hearty laugh, amused by Jade's sarcasm. Another hormonal teenage girl, lovely. He could see how she was mocking him, and thought it rather cute. "Well, miss Jade, welcome to Amour Beach," he grinned, letting loose a chuckle. "Hope your move has been going well so far," he continued, knowing that she wasn't having the best time with her new relocation. "Quite grouchy today, aren't you?" Sutton leaned easily against the rail, watching her reaction. It was quite funny to see her so upset and flustered. "You can't expect to make any friends with that kind of attitude, Jade," he pointed out, his expression unfaltering. He wasn't afraid of her.

message 24: by Coral (new)

Coral (counting_stars) Jade grimaced, looking over at Sutton solemnly. "My move has been horrible. Thanks for asking. And I'm not grouchy, I'm in pain." Taking a shaky breath, she let out a deep exhale, attempting to calm down and fighting the urge to punch Sutton squarely in the face. "I don't need friends." She whispered softly, letting go of the pier railing to face Sutton head on. "I guess it'd be okay to have a friend." She paused before speaking quickly, "Maybe. I don't intend on staying here long. The beach may be my scene, but I don't belong anywhere anymore." In an attempt to change the subject, a genuine smile slipped onto her face. "You surf?" She asked, and it came out with a bit of a daring tone to it.

message 25: by E M M A (new)

E M M A "Oh, come on, now," Sutton chided, slumping his shoulders. "I promise I'll be the best friend you've ever had," he promised, a cenhing smile spreading across his face. "I'm sorry about your move, maybe I can make your stay a lot more pleasant?" He suggested. He was surprised by jades sudden change of heart, and wondered if she was genuinely in a better mood. Mission accomplished. "Surf? Oh- hah, well... " he trailed off, blushing. "I can do it, but not so well... I always fall off," he explained, grinning. He folded his arms neatly across his polo. "Why?"

message 26: by Coral (new)

Coral (counting_stars) Jade rolled her eyes, taking a step closer to Sutton and leaning her weight to one side, her hand on her hip. "I'm not going to stay here just for the summer. I'm going to live here for the rest of life." She sighs, running a hand through her hair, truly exasperated and tired. "Surfing is what I live for. It's what I love so much about the beach. I used to live in Florida... Anyways, I've been competing in surfing since I was approximately nine years old I believe." She noticed how dressed up he was, it was weird for someone to be dressed like that, at least she thought so. Her dress may have been a little on the fancy side, but she didn't usually dress this way.

message 27: by E M M A (new)

E M M A "Ah," Sutton nodded slowly. "No worries, you'll love this place. I only come here every summer, though," he informed her, casually pocketing his hands. He then understood how to cheer the girl up. Maybe. "You're quite the beach girl, then? Florida is quite the move," he whistled. "Why don't we... Go for a little surfing? The waves are best in the morning, but they're not too bad right now, I guess," he shrugged, hoping his suggestion would work. If not, maybe he'd give her a grand tour of her new town. He didn't question the need for her to wear a dress to the pier, since he himself was wearing a polo and neatly pressed slacks. It was typical for him.

message 28: by Coral (last edited Jan 02, 2014 11:53AM) (new)

Coral (counting_stars) "I don't have my board." Jade pouted her lip, but didn't hesitate to pull her dress off over her head. She always came prepared for the ocean, and was dressed in a light blue bikini, embroidered with white lace. Jade had the ultimate beach bod, tan lines framing the places this bikini didn't cover, but her others did. "Let me guess. You're going to go in the water with boxers only." She smirked, looking around the edge of the pier to see if someone had left a board laying around. It wouldn't be the same as hers, but it would work. No board could replace hers, call her a freak, but it was really sentimental to her.

message 29: by E M M A (new)

E M M A Sutton tried not to drool, and blushed for looking at jade's body in such a way. He turned away, managing to locate a beach gear shop right beside the beach. "Wrong!" he laughed, making a game show buzzer sound. "But i am going to get a new pair of swim trunks...?" He managed to say, pushing off of the pier. "We're you planning to go surfing today?" He asked casually, motioning for her to walk with him. He couldn't help but notice the uncomfortable stares that other men were giving jade. She was beautiful, very good looking, he had to give her that.

message 30: by Coral (new)

Coral (counting_stars) Jade took note to his blush, and a smirk played onto her face. She was used to all the attention she got from men, and most of the time, she chose to ignore it. That was best...right? But Sutton, the boy who was obsessed with making everyone else happy, had actually checked her out. "Well, you should probably get changed then." She said, an awkward tone to her voice. There was definitely something wrong with her. She shouldn't be visualizing Sutton getting changed at a time like this. "And no, I was not planning on going surfing on my first day here. I just happen to live in bikinis. Plus I look pretty hot in them, if I do say so myself."

message 31: by E M M A (new)

E M M A Sutton tried to concentrate on anything BUT jade's body, his strides slow and long. "I'll be right back," he said, walking backwards to talk to jade before turning into the surf shop. He bought a pair of compressions and a pair of swim trunks, slipping back outside with his new clothes in hand. "Live in your bikinis," he rolled his eyes, tempted to laugh. This girl was quite the braggart. "I think you look fabulous in them," he noted, before realizing with a start what he had just implied. Shit. Shit shit shit. He hefted his shorts awkwardly, not knowing how to remedy the situation. "I'll change in there, while you find some surfboards," he pointed to a surf board rental truck parked on the sand, several beachers clad in wet suits crowded around. He just needed to get away from jade, before he got attached to her beauty. He'd never felt this way towards a girl before, besides that one whore of a girlfriend he had had in high school. Oops.

message 32: by Coral (new)

Coral (counting_stars) Jade watched him go, turning on her heel. She leaned down, not noticing a couple guys who watched her body move, as she picked up some sand, running the gritty grains through her fingers. Once Sutton returned, the guys looked away, before she could see them checking her out. "It's true." She raised an eyebrow, crossing her arms over her chest in an act of definance, daring him to challenge her. At his next words, a light blush crept up onto her cheeks. "Thank you." Her words were spoken softly, she could barely hear herself say them. Desperately wanting the subject to be changed, she nodded and walked off towards the rental truck with a sway of her hips. Jade had never been oblivious to guys checking her out, and she wasn't now. She was used to it, and if anyone of them were actually hot enough, then she would talk to them. "Hi." She said flirtatiously, grabbing two of the boards. After she had paid for them, she went to wait for Sutton to come out, already mentally preparing herself for not looking at his body.

message 33: by E M M A (new)

E M M A Sutton took a deep breath after a mental pep talk to himself in front of the mirror, his eyes looking at his reflection in the mirror. He wasnt super ripped like many of the guys were, but he was properly toned and tan in all thr ight places. He felt odd, in just shorts, but shrugged it off as he gathered his clothes in a bundle. He stepped back outside, the warm sand sinking between his toes. He smiled to himself, feeling free and happy like always. "Nice boards," he nodded in approval, picking one up from the sand. He had ditched his clothes and shoes in a bush by the bathrooms, hoping its stay there. He didn't dare look at jades figure, only paying attention to her face. "Shall we?" He grinned.

message 34: by Coral (new)

Coral (counting_stars) ((lol I'll watch it in a little while))
Giggling lightly under her breath, Jade did her best not to look at Sutton's perfection. He wasn't too muscled, just well proportioned. She had to stop looking at him before she did something she would regret later. With a slight nod of her head, Jade used her ten seconds of courage to link her arm through his, "We shall." She said firmly, not a hint of sarcasm to her tone. Sutton was the perfect beach boy, and just the perfect everything. But yet, he still loved to help people when he could be a show off and a bragging snob. She despised those types of people. It was almost like Sutton was carefree. Under her other arm, she held her board tight to her body, letting out a deep sigh as they neared the water.

message 35: by E M M A (new)

E M M A He smiled over at jade, her small tan arm in his. She had caught him by surprise, and he felt his cheeks grow hot . Maybe it was the sun. "This is going to be interesting, I haven't surfed in.... A year," he raised an eyebrow, releasing her arm to put his board on top of his head as the water got deeper. When it was deep enough, he put it in the water and boarded it, paddling further into the ocean as the waves lapped up against his legs. "You can't laugh if I fall!" He grinned, strapping the ankle strap to his left ankle. The day had taken an interesting turn, for the better. He had a beautiful girl by his side, and she wasn't even that bad. She had a nice smile, sutton thought to himself. He hasn't been paying attention, and a large wave caught him up. He let out a garbled cry, falling into the ocean with his board flailing by his side. Salt water entered his mouth, and Sutton panicked.

message 36: by Coral (new)

Coral (counting_stars) Jade had always been a natural in the water, and she realized it would be cool to sign up for life guard duty or something similar. She had grown up in the water, always feeling as if it was her friend. The ocean never hurt her. Once she was deep enough, she slid onto her board, paddling out into the bigger waves. "I'll do my best not to laugh." She looked back at him, and bit down on her lower lip when his surfboard capsized. Diving under the wave, she had a little bit of calm, time when the waves weren't coming, because they were preparing for a larger one. She swam downward, still holding onto her surfboard as she grabbed Sutton's hand and pulled him up to the surface. Jade wasn't sure if he had needed saving, but oh well.

message 37: by E M M A (new)

E M M A Sutton felt a small hand wrap around his arm firmly, and he could feel himself rising to the surface. He spat out lungfuls of water, coughing miserably as he leaned over jades surf board. He rested his fce on the board, breathing heavily. "Th-thanks, jade," he panted, his cheeks turning pink. He had made such a fool of himself. Luckily, his board wasn't broken, and was still attached to his leg, floating harmlessly beside him in the calm waves. He coughed again, clutching his stomach. Too much salt water. "Wow, that was pretty bad, I didn't expect to wipe out," he laughed at himself, hoisting himself onto his board.

message 38: by Coral (new)

Coral (counting_stars) "Mmmm." Jade nodded softly, not looking at Sutton, and instead looking at the large waves that were headed there way. "Shit." She swore quietly, climbing back onto her board and paddling towards the wave. "Just follow my lead, okay? For you, it probably would be best if you dived underneath it. But I'm going to ride it." Grinning widely, she approached the wave, and once she was upon it, she stood up on her board. Surfing had always been easy for Jade, she wasn't sure why. But she had never feared the water, or anything of the likes. As she surfed the wave, she did a quick glance over her shoulder at Sutton, just to make sure he was doing okay.

message 39: by E M M A (new)

E M M A Sutton nodded, already exhausted by that one wipeout. He paddle quickly, aiming for the base of the wave as jade approached it on her surf Baird. With one final glance at her beautifully toned body- wait, he thought, shaking his head in refusal. His bored dove into the wave, and he passed through to the other side with no incident. He was actually doing okay, he thought, as he sat up on his board and scanned the waves for jade.

message 40: by Coral (new)

Coral (counting_stars) ((omg I just laughed reading that))
After finishing the small ride, Jade got back on her stomach, paddling over to Sutton. "You actually survived!" She laughed half heartily, throwing her head back. Her wet hair, tickled her back, and once she got back to Sutton, she sat on her board, her legs dangling off the side. This was the most fun she'd had since...Since her family's death. She was actually enjoying herself. It felt so good to get back out in the waves, even though the last time she surfed was yesterday. Sutton was actually fun.

message 41: by E M M A (new)

E M M A ((How is it funny??? Please enlighten me xD))
Sutton was relieved to see jade well and alive, pading quickly towards him. "Yess, I did!" He laughed heartily, blushing madly. "I think we can just settle the fact that you'll always be abetted surfer than me," he grinned, his eyes falling onto her tanned body. Stop! He told himself, his eyes darting back to the smaller waves in front of them. He didn't know what to do, what to feel. "So uh, jade. Are you enjoying yourself so far? You seem to be in a much better mood than when I first saw you," he teased, retightening the draw strings on his shorts and restrapping his ankle. He's give the waves another go.

message 42: by Coral (new)

Coral (counting_stars) ((the part where it says he took one last glance at her- wait no. Its so cute XD))
"I agree. Surfing just comes naturally to me, it's in my bones and blood." She shrugged, grinning as she laid back down on her board. Jade took note to the fact that he checked her out again, but she was used to it and didn't really mind. "Enjoying myself?" A frown appeared on her face. How could she even be happy when her family had recently died? was the first thought that popped into her head. She immediately felt guilty, and looked away from Sutton, her expression stony and cool. It wasn't fair to her family if she was happy! It would seem to them like she was celebrating their death! No she had no right to be enjoying herself. Jade dived under the next wave with her board, needing to clear her thoughts.

message 43: by E M M A (new)

E M M A ((Ohhhh))
((Omg))
Sutton nodded, "yeah, enjoying yourself- what's the matter?" He noticed her sudden change of expression, her face becoming hard and unemotional. What had he said wrong? She dove without warning into the water, leaving Sutton confused. "Jade? Jade!" He shouted over the water, losing track of her and her surf board amid the waves. He caught glimpse of her head bobbing off a few feet to the left of him, and he rode the next wave towards her. "Jade!" He called desperately. "Come back! Please!" He begged, salt water catching in his mouth as the smaller waves splashed beside him. He didn't understand what was going on with jade right now, but it was driving him crazy.
((Have you ever been in a riptide? So scary!!!))
((Sometimes ill rp parts for you, like "jade swam further" or something like that, something small thr wouldn't exactly matter, and I give you full permission to do it to all my carries too! It adds a bit extra))
((Did you watch the YouTube video yet??))

Coral (counting_stars) Jade groaned inwardly as he called after her, couldn't he just let her have a few seconds to herself? She turned around her board around, making eye contact with him across the water. He needed to stop yelling and taking water in, or he was going to drown himself. She paddled closer to him, as he drifted closer to her. "Look, Sutton, whoever you are. I don't even know you. So I don't see why you expect me to explain myself to you. It's really none of your business." She said coldly, keeping her gaze calm and collected. Who did this guy think he was? Sure, she was intrigued and fascinated by him, but that was all, wasn't it?
((no and okay!))

E M M A He sighed with relief as she came towards him at an alarming speed, her board jumping against his. He frowned in confusion, not inderstanding what jades deal was. "Jade-" he was cut off by her hard words, and he shook his head slightly in misunderstanding. "I thought we were friends! I don't even know - what are you talking about? On second you're fine, the next, you're bitchin' at me like I just killed your puppy!" He held onto his board firmly, just bracing for the next wave to strike down and kill him.

Coral (counting_stars) Jade sighed, frustrated and agitated. She shook her head, laying her head down on her surfboard and closing her eyes. After a few seconds, she tilted her head back up, returning to a normal position. "We are friends Sutton! My life is just really messed up right now. I've been going through a hard time." She attempted to explain, sitting up on her board to gesture with her hands. "I'm sorry." Her eyes locked with his, some tenderness appearing in her own bright blue eyes. She felt she had somewhat opened up to him, made herself a little more vulnerable. And guys tended to like that crap.

E M M A ((THE LAST LINE THE LAST LINE OHMYGOSH))
Sutton listened genuinely, nodding his head in understanding. The waves crashed onto the shore a distance away as they drifted further into the oceans south. "I understand, I respect that, definitely," he sympathized, reaching for jades hand. "I'm here for you if you need me," he reassured her, before releasing her hand. The moment their eyes locked, he felt trapped. Trapped in her gaze. She was just so beautiful, with her long hair and pretty blue eyes. He felt himself space out momentarily, his jaw hanging slightly open.

Coral (counting_stars) "Thanks." Jade said quietly, she didn't need his sympathy. People might say they know how you feel, but they really have no idea unless they are you. So she was grateful Sutton hadn't said anything similar to, I know how you feel. She noticed him practically drooling at her as he spaced out, and a blush came to her cheeks. "We better get back." She began, looking towards the shore as she began to paddle to the water's edge. It was like Sutton didn't even know hoe unbelievably hot he was. He must have had ton of girls running to his door, he didn't need another one, she kept telling herself.

((OMG I KNOW))

E M M A Sutton blinked, nearly choking on his drool. "Oh yeah, we're out pretty far," he said quickly, paddling towards we're the waves began to break. He would try to ride waves all the way back. "Let's catch this one," he pointed, steering towards the right and standing upright on his board. He rode it halfway back to shore before it died down, taking a series if smaller waves down to the sand. "Jade! Did you see me?" He beamed, his surf board tucked under his arm and his other hand proudly on his hip. He allowed his eyes to check jade over as she walked over towards him. He felt like a real guy, feeling inappropriate for thinking about her like that. He shook his head, marching trough the sand to join her.

Coral (counting_stars) Jade followed his eyes, not standing up as she rode the wave back. "Yeah, you were really good Sutton." She attempted a small smile, wincing slightly. "I'm really sorry about earlier. I'll do whatever I can to make it up to you. You probably think I'm a total bitch." Groaning, she ran a hand through her wet and tangled hair. "I'm just...things have been hard for me." Jade fought back tears, feeling them well up behind her eyelids. She closed her eyes tight, willing them to go away. This could not be happening. She almost never cried, it was too embarrassing. Crying was a sign of weakness. Hopefully Sutton hadn't seen anything. She opened her eyes back up, pretending like she had just been soaking up the last of the sun.
