Ryker pulled up to the Marina, and popped the truck. He grabbed his stuff, and watched for Dani. Hopefully she was a fast learner...and he was a good teacher. But he honestly didn't know what to expect.

Dani pulled the motorcycle up next to his car. Pulled her helmet off, she let her hair tumble to her back. She grinned slightly, "I still have to change" she held up the bathing suit"

Ryker didn't look up from the tangled cords that hung from the board. "there is a changing room over there!" He said, pointing to it. He was concentrating hard on this knot that had formed. It was hard work.

She nodded walking over to the changing rooms. She slipped in and shut the door. Changing into the bathing suit quickly she then glanced in the mirror, suddenly hoping she looked alright in it. It fit her almost perfectly, and she grinned.
Dani pulled her hair into a messy bun before walking out, tossing her clothes onto the motorcycle seat.

Ryker heard footsteps, and looked up from the board he was waxing. He wolf whistled, winking at her. "You look better in that than my sister does." He said with a wink.

She giggled, blushing softly. "Thanks" she smiled standing next to him. "So, whatcha doing?" she figured it was something to keep them from slipping off the board.

Ryker smirked, glad he could make her blush. "I'm waxing it so we don't fall off. Well...if our balance is off..we'll fall off no matter what. But this will help." He smiled and stood. "So you won't really be in the water today...but your board will be." He handed her the thing you wear around your foot. "Here, put this around your foot. It's so the board doesn't get lost. Or you. Either one.."

She laughed a little and nodded bending down and putting it around her ankle. "So it's like what...wax?" she raised an eyebrow: though she was glad she wasn't getting wet, she didn't want her hair getting wet anyways.

Ryker paused...and looked into her eyes, laughing. "Um..I can't really even think straight right now..I am 99% sure it's wax..but I'm also sleep deprived. So...I don't know.."

She smiled, "If you're tired, we can just sit here" though she was eager to learn to surf, she didn't mind sitting around with a hard-not-to-stare-at boy.

Ryker raised an eyebrow. "You sure?" It's not that he didn't want to teach this hot girl how to surf, because he did, it's just that Heidi kept him up all night while she tried to read a book essay. It was depressing how bad she was.

"Yea, it's fine" she smiled and sat down at the end of a dock, legs dangling over the edge. "Anyways, it's pretty here" she said leaning back on her hands.

Ryker grinned. "Not as pretty as what I'm looking at." He said with a wink. He was getting better at the while flirting things. The lessons with Heidi were paying off.

She blushed yet again, and turned to glance at him. "Thanks" she said rolling her eyes. She pulled her hair out of the bun, letting it tumble around her shoulders.

Ryker couldn't help but laugh. "Your welcome." He watched her long hair tumble down her shoulders. Yup. She was cute, and yeah...she was out of his league. Good luck.

"You can sit with me....." She said slowly raising an eyebrow. He was standing their, while she was sitting off to the side like a loner, but she was familiar with the loner thing. As a kid she was anything but social: always wearing dorky clothing, talking too much, etc.

Ryker stood from his spot which was slightly behind her. "Alright Dani." He plopped down next to her, dipping his toes into the water. "So where are you from?"

She tensed slightly, "uh france" she smiled, hating her so called accent, so she used an American one though her natural French accent was starting to show through. "And you?"

Ryker raised his eyebrow. "Wow, that's awesome. You're a long way from France." He said with a grin. "New Mexico. Really exotic." He rolled his eyes. "I really don't like it there.."

She shrugged, "not a lot of good memories their. And why don't you like it?" She leaned forward looking at the water, she dipped her foot low, trying to touch the water without falling in.

Ryker shrugged. "Same as you. Not any good memories." He grew up beating other kids up in order to protect his sister..making him really ripped, and really good at boxing. But it wasn't something he was proud of.

She nodded slightly, and screamed as she fell into the water having leaned over too far. She was under for quite some time before popping up to the surface. "Ew" she tried grabbing onto the dock but was too short for her hands to get a good enough grip on it

Ryker grabbed her wrist quickly, pulling her up and out of the water with ease. "Are you Ok Dani? Goodness...if you want to go swim, just let me know. Don't need to drown yourself in the process." He said, hiding a small chuckle at himself. He was on a roll tonight.

"I wasn't going to drown" she said pouting slightly, before squuezing the water out of her hair. "Gross" she muttered before flashing a small smile.

Ryker clutched his heart, like she had just shot him or something. "Oh that hurt. That hurt. She called my ocean gross..." He teased her. But it made him feel a little sad. The ocean was a part of him...and she just called it gross.

"I just meant... The whole ocean without movement, staying in the hot sun. It looks more like a lake anyways" she wasn't sure if he being serious or not, so she had apologized. Pulling a strand of seaweed from her hair and tossing it back into the water, she blinked the salt water out of her eyes.

Ryker laughed and nudged her shoulder gently. "I was teasing Dani. It's Ok if you think the ocean is gross. I don't know why you want to surf though." Why should she want to swim in something she thought was gross? Ryker knew he wouldn't want to.

"I just don't like..... This type of water." She was terrified of lakes, rivers, or anything that held water that wasn't the actual ocean: though she was scared of saying this in fear that she would like an idiot.

Ryker shrugged. "Ok." He leaned back on his hands. He wondered what his sister was doing. Hopefully she was Ok and not being made fun of let beaten up. Even since he was a kid, Ryker worried about that. She was always on the back of his mind, nagging at him. The thing is with Heidi, is you can't help but protect her. She's like a little kid and you can't help but love her for it.

"What's wrong" she smiled watching him, obviously their was something on his mind and she couldn't help but wonder what he was thinking about.

Ryker shrugged. "My twin sister Heidi. She has dyslexia...and cant read to save her life. When we were kids people called her dumb, stupid. Made her feel like a failure. I used to stand up for her, and somehow ended up in fights. But..I was always worried about her. Still am. Old habits die hard...right?" He said softly. It was weird explaining his life story to her...but it also was not weird. At the same time. Even if that didn't make any sense at all.

"I know how that feels." she said gently, "And I think it's sweet you take care of her, I used to wish that someone would take care of me." she blinked slowly.

Ryker shrugged. "Someday Dani, some guy is gonna love you to no ends. You will be constantly on his mind, and he will protect you just like that. Promise." Ryker was satisfied with his answer. He liked her, but he wasn't sure it was in that way. So just in case it wasn't, he didn't lead her on.

She nodded, though she was smiling slightly. "You seem like a good brother" the words were barely audible, she was squeezing the water from her hair and she was thinking about his comment.

Ryker heard her mumble something, but wasn't sure what she said. "What was that? Sorry, I couldn't hear you." Did she like him?? Oh dear..because if she did...he probably just broke her heart. Ouch. Ugh. Why did he get mixed up in girls like this?

"I said you seem like a good brother" the look on his face caused her to smirk, she couldn't tell exactly what he was thinking though she knew enough.

Ryker nodded, chuckling softly. "Oh..I gotcha. Well, you will have to ask my sister to determine that fact." He said with a grin, watching the sun set. It was beautiful today, all the different colors...breathtaking.

She leaned back against the wood, staring up at the sky. Her chest rose and feel with each breathe, a small look of happiness on her face. She even considered telling Ryker the real reason why she was here, though she realized it was a bad idea the moment it crossed her mind.

Ryker took his phone out to take a picture, when he realized what time it was. "Shiz-nuggets!" He stood. "Sorry Dani..I gotta get home. I was supposed to help my mom rearrange the living room an hour ago. I am so dead. But, here's my number," he reached into his nearby bag and handed him a small business card for his boxing training. "that's my cell. Call me and we will set up a time for surfing lessons."

She nodded taking it from him. "Will do, and uh wont your sister want her bathing suit?" she raised an eyebrow standing up and brushing herself off.

Ryker shook his head. "Keep it. She hasn't worn it since last year. And it looks good on you." He finished loading his stuff. "Call me!" He then got into his car, and drive home, praying he wouldn't die.

She smiled and walked over to her motorcycle. Pulled her helmet on she slid onto the bike, revving the engine before driving off to no where in particular.
