Madden sighed and check her cell phone for the time once again, she had cancelled her plans because her publicist, Kate, had told her it was urgent that they meet. She wouldn't give Madden any clues as to what it was about...but she sounded excited; at least that's what Madden hoped. But then she doesn't even show up on time? Kate was always drilling it into Madden's head that it was important to be on time, if you were late...well then you probably weren't going to get the part-- no matter who you were. Of course, if Madden were being honest she didn't exactly mind, because her plans had been to simply read a book. Probably not something most would picture her doing on a Friday night, but she had come to Amour Beach for some down time...so reading it was.
Madden laid her phone down on the table, and decided to look around the restaurant. It was a beautiful little place, right on the beach...rather romantic; but the only actual restaurant in town. Which is why Madden had chosen to come here for the meeting, Kate was very uptown, and a simple cafe would have annoyed her. Though it would have been a funny site to see, Madden decided it was best not to test her luck with Kate if it was in fact bad news-- rather than good as she hoped.

Having had a chat with his mother to acquire the name of the girl he had met at the surf shop, which turned out to be a very long conversation involving him having to describe every possible detail he could remember of the woman, Bennett finally got his answer. Her name; Madden. Bennett liked it as soon as he heard it, finding it to be fitting for the rather feisty girl. After he had the name, Bennett was able to call up one of his father's assistants and have him get some information on Madden. It wasn't long until Bennett had a phone record and found out that she was meeting a lady name Kate at Amour Beach's classiest restaurant. No, Bennett was not a stalker. Yes, he was a just a little obsessed with Madden Devereux.
He arrived at the Sandbar wearing black dress pants with a pressed white shirt, a dark blue blazer over top of it. Bennett would impress this girl if it was the last thing he did. When he walked to the dining area, it didn't take him long to spot Madden, as she definitely stood out in a room for her looks. With a wolfish smile plastered on his face, Bennett approached her slowly. He couldn't wait to see the look on her face when she saw him. As if it was the most casual scenario in the world, Bennett simply sat down across from her and flashed her a smile. "Hello, dear Madden, how are you this lovely evening?"

Madden had just got done ordering her drink, when Kate finally texted her to let her know that she had been running late. The whole thing sounded a bit off to Madden, especially considering how punctual Kate usually was. It was as if she was purposefully running late...which just seemed too far-fetched for one of Kate's values. Focused on her thoughts she didn't see the approaching figure until he spoke directly to her. To say she was caught off guard would have been an understatement, which was evident on her face; though she masked it quickly. What in the world was he doing here? Wait... Madden frowned, he called me by my name... Great. She probably lost whatever leverage she had over him. To be honest though, she shouldn't have been surprised, Bennett didn't seem like the type of guy that would give up until he got what he wanted. With a politician as a father, it wasn't hard to figure out where he had gotten her information from.
The only question now was, how much did Benny Boy actually know about her? Madden narrowed her eyes as he sat down, as if he didn't care that she had plans with someone else. No...as if she had actually been waiting for him to show up. Wonderful. This is just what she needed for Kate to see, her 'having dinner' with Bennett Preston. Madden could just picture Kate going on and on about what it would do for her fan base...and even how it would help her land more roles. "I see you figured out my name...took you long enough" Madden returned his smile finally, not wanting him to feel as if he had won, "You know, it's quite rude to interrupt someone's dinner plans, which I have-- with my publicist." Madden's meaning was clear, unless he wanted rumors circulating about thing dating...or worse; it was best if he left before Kate showed up.

Victorious. That was the only way to describe how Bennett felt when he had first sat down across from Madden at the Sandbar Restaurant. His eyes shone bright with pride (and a little arrogance as well). And then one look into her eyes and Bennett grew frustrated once more, realizing he had yet to actually win. Wasn't she even the least bit surprised to see him? Surely she was faking it...and that drove him crazy. Bennett was going insane over a girl. That was certainly headline worthy.
Bennett's posture as he sat was one you would expect of a diplomat when no one was watching. He certainly didn't seem uncomfortable, even though he sat up tall like a businessman. One of his elbows was on the table and he put his fist to his chin, watching Madden as if studying her, which he was. But there was a certain look in his eyes that showed he was looking at someone he wanted. "Oh, I don't believe you'll have to worry about that, love. Per my request, darling Kate made other arrangements for tonight." He smirked. "And what's the problem? Don't want the world to know the truth about us, dear Madden?" As if there was anything to know...Bennett didn't worry any about the media. Yes, they were extremely annoying and always wanted to know what he was up to. But no one would dare publish anything he didn't permit!
