Do you need music in the background when writing, or do you prefer silence?

i prefer silence. I've tried writing with background anything and I get too distracted. I start listening more to the music or TV instead of focusing on the writing.

Mm, that's a good question. In fact I was thinking about doing something with Greek Mythology. I have always loved it. I watch or read anything about it. If I wasn't Majoring in Psychology, Mythology would have been my second choice. It's just coming up with something different that no one else has thought of.
