Brenda ╰☆╮ (brnda) | 1494 comments One of my long time favorite authors, Jennifer Roberson deserves a topic of her own.
:)

Her newest series Karavans (Karavans, #1) by Jennifer Roberson Karavans is one of my favorites, of any author.

Does anyone else enjoy her writing and if so, which is/are your favorite/s?

message 2: by Lee (new)

Lee I was recently looking at getting one of her books. Would you recommend Karavans to a new reader? Or should a new reader start with an earlier book?

Yes! I agree. Waiting patiently for the third book in this series.

Brenda ╰☆╮ (brnda) | 1494 comments Nienna, I would definitely recommend Karavans to new readers.
Her Cheysuli Chronicles were where I started, many years ago.

Martha (tilla) | 194 comments I kinda like the Cheysuli books and Tiger and Dell. For some reason, I couldn't get into Karavans

message 6: by Sandra (new)

Sandra (sleo) | 1913 comments Oh, I see from my review of book 2 that I held off on book 3 because I heard it ends in a cliffhanger. So it's book 4 I'm waitin on.

I liked Tiger and Del, although it was hard to find all of them when I was reading them. And couldn't find Cheylusi.

Ooo...I should warn....the series Karavans isn't finished yet. I think she has one more to write.

So..you might want to start with another, depending on how you read.

message 8: by Lee (new)

Lee I just noticed I *did* buy one. Oops. I got Sword-Dancer. I bought it after seeing her mentioned in another thread. :)

Brenda ╰☆╮ (brnda) | 1494 comments I have not read all of Jennifer Roberson's books.
Those I have, I liked.

Tiger and Del....two thumbs up.
:D

As for Cheysuli....some of the books were combined in later releases.

ie~Shapechangers and Song of Homana were combined into Shapechanger's Song.

It's so interesting how some of us enjoy certain books, and then depart on others.

Brenda ╰☆╮ (brnda) | 1494 comments Jennifer Roberson just announced that the first 3 books of he Cheysuli Chronicles are available in e book.Shapechangers: Book 1, The Song Of Homana, and Legacy of the Sword. She said she hoped the others would soon follow, but isn't sure when.

Publishers!

Just be aware if you're outside the US that they are geo-restricted.

This is one of the series I've been wanting in ebook for ages, so I'm hugely disappointed.

Brenda ╰☆╮ (brnda) | 1494 comments I'm sure that authors aren't thrilled either.
Got my fingers crossed for you.

message 16: by Kerry (new)

Kerry (rocalisa) | 46 comments Thanks, Brenda. I know it isn't the authors' faults, but it's still hugely frustrating as a reader.

Brenda ╰☆╮ (brnda) | 1494 comments I hear you.
:)

Sometimes I do forget. Thanks for the reminder.

message 18: by Bookwraiths (new)

Bookwraiths I thought I read somewhere she was going to write a few more Cheysuli books? Anyone heard anything about that, or is it just wishful thinking on my part?

Brenda ╰☆╮ (brnda) | 1494 comments Yes, she is. I'll try to find the post and share it.

message 20: by Brenda ╰☆╮ (last edited Nov 22, 2014 07:23AM) (new)

Brenda ╰☆╮ (brnda) | 1494 comments Well, I couldn't find Jennifer Robertson's post about her books, but I did find an interview that discusses them briefly.
She has planned for 3 more evidently, one will be a prequel.

Brenda ╰☆╮ (brnda) | 1494 comments I just realised, it's an old interview, but I'm on her Facebook and she did say something recently.

message 22: by Bookwraiths (new)

Bookwraiths Thanks. I'm glad I didn't imagine it. :)

Joseph | 1651 comments Last I heard (again from her Facebook) she said she was working on a new Del & Tiger novel, which made me very happy.

message 24: by Bookwraiths (new)

Bookwraiths Glad to hear of that as well. These series are some of my favorites from my teenage and college years. Would love to revisit them. 8)
