Stephanie (stephaniereads1) | 9 comments So, I tend to gravitate towards fiction generally, but I think that's more because I've had a few nonfiction lemons that have turned me away. There have been a few nonfiction books that I've loved, and I'd like to find some more! What are your favorites?

May (maybohon) | 1 comments I'm currently reading:

1. Freefall to Fly: A Breathtaking Journey Toward a Life of Meaning by Rebekah Lyons

AND

2. Emily Post's Everyday Etiquette: How to Handle the Top Manners Dilemmas (I love learning about different behaviors!).

message 3: by Katharine (new)

Katharine Nonfiction is such a broad category! I guess this would depend on what your favorite subject were. As for me, I love The Glass Castle and Bossypants and anything by David Sedaris.

message 4: by Tina (new)

Tina Osborne | 1 comments I'm currently reading Organized Simplicity by Tsh Oxenreider; The Daniel Plan by Rick Warren, et al.; 21 Laws of Growth by John Maxwell; and well, I'll just stop there. :)

Stephanie (stephaniereads1) | 9 comments I did LOVE Bossypants... so great. I was just laughing constantly. :)

Stephanie (stephaniereads1) | 9 comments What's Organized Simplicity about?

message 7: by Sarah (new)

Sarah (sarahannehayes) I'm currently reading "Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? (And Other Concerns)" by Mindy Kaling, "Packing Light" by Allison Vesterfelt, "Boundaries in Dating" by Dr. Henry Cloud and Dr. John Townsend, "A Million Miles in a Thousand Years" by Donald Miller, and "Being White" by Paula Harris and Doug Schaupp.

Kellie | 3 comments I'm currently reading Interrupted: An Adventure in Relearning the Essentials of Faith by Jen Hatmaker. Just in the first couple of pages, she (or the Holy Spirit) are making question am I living for Jesus or am I living to just satisfy my own desires. Deep stuff, but her sarcasm at just the right time is making this a fabulous read.

message 9: by Sara (new)

Sara Stacy | 3 comments Loved Boundaries in Dating!

Currently reading Platform by Michael Hyatt. I'd recommend Bittersweet and Cold Tangerines by Shauna Niequist. Also I love anything from Brene Brown. Finished Lean In a couple of weeks ago as well.

Sarah (sarahannehayes) Just finished "Bittersweet" the other day. Excellent. Marked that thing up like nobody's business. "Cold Tangerines" will be one of the next ones I read. "Bread & Wine," Shauna's most recent book is also fantastic.

message 11: by Lynne (new)

Lynne Lorentsen | 1 comments I love all these great book titles you all have given - more to load up in my to-read list! I really loved Crazy Busy (Kevin DeYoung), Die Young (Hayley Dimarco), and The Introverts Way (Sophie Dembling). In fact, I adore nonfiction and am making a point of crawling out from under it and rejuicing my imagination with fiction.

message 12: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie (stephaniereads1) | 9 comments I'm loving the book titles too :) I'd so much rather take a recommendation than try and find something new on my own!

message 13: by Diane (new)

Diane (goodreadscomdcjordan) | 1 comments Loving the titles listed here, too and have read several of them. :) I am in the process of reading/rereading Made to Crave (Lysa TerKeurst), semi-started reading The Governors Lady (Robert Inman), and well into reading A Year of Biblical Womanhood (Rachel Held Evans.)

message 14: by Kellie (new)

Kellie | 3 comments I am now starting Start: Punch Fear in the Face, Escape Average, and Do What Matters by Jon Acuff. I feel like I am a little late getting to the book, but it goes along perfectly for one of my goals for the year.

message 15: by Sara (new)

Sara Stacy | 3 comments Diane- I just finished Made to Crave and read Rachel's book a couple of months ago.

message 16: by Katharine (new)

Katharine I live in the northeast, so our public library doesn't have a whole lot of Christian titles on the shelves -- more for fiction than non. I'm saying this so all of y'all will feel sorry for me. :) No one here has heard of Jon Acuff.

And to sound super spiritual, if we read the entire Bible in one year, would that count as one book or 66? :)

Stephanie (stephaniereads1) | 9 comments are you able to do an interlibrary loan? that's how I get most of my books! :)
